Breathtakingly beautiful views, the staff is very friendly and attentive. We stayed on the 4th floor with an ocean view, I would definitely recommend paying the small fee to upgrade. the room was small, but the view made up for that- it was jaw dropping! The fridge was stocked with beer, soda and water. Everything about our stay at the...

Checked in on Sunday afternoon. Sunday evening power went out on island. Not hotels fault but staff handled like crap. Had no empathy for guests who had no running water, no toilets, no A.C. no lighting in hallways, no elevator service. Location is beautiful but staff is miserable and I have never experienced worse service in my life. Wife asked...

First know, that by room service they mean doing bare minimum of cleaning to your room. There is no actual room service here. They offer old fruit and sandwiches in the lobby but as far as any late night snacks or meals you'll be out of luck unless you go into town. The staff is extremely rude. We had to...

My husband and I visited this resort in November, right before Thanksgiving. We had a great time, but only because we are not fancy people. Here's my honest review: PROS: Our room had an AMAZING ocean view that we couldn't get enough of. We watched the sunrise nearly every day. We really enjoyed the food (we love spicy food). We...

Mia Reef is located on Playa Norte and truly can be its own private Island. Everything about the surroundings are stunning from the sandy white beaches to the coral cliffs. My wife and I visited in October 8 days 7 nights. Hotel: Small Quaint and private. The grounds and rooms are well kept. You have to go across a small...

We greatly enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The rooms were nice. The staff was excellent. The alcohol was plentiful and free. All of these aspects earn an "easy A". The black eye is food. The breakfast is an A. Lunch / snack is a B (hot dogs, hamburgers, simple but fine for snack, acceptable lunches). Dinner was a C....

The resort is getting old and in need of some repairs. A walkway missing bricks was roped off in one spot but not in another, and never worked on while we were there. Room cleaning was typically not done until between three and five in the evening. Calling/talking to manager didn't help to get it done earlier. Toilet clogged and...

Daytona Beach, Florida

Why does Mia Reef management not respond to the complaints and negative comments in the one star reviews on TA, the comments about boring, bland food, the limited selection, the lack of quality steak, the almost nonexistant amount of shrimp and lobster available, the watered down "swill" liquors on the Mia Reef joke of an "all inclusive resort menu"?

Why does management only respond to compliments and praise from guests who have obviously never visited a "real" 4 or 5 star all inclusive resort in Mexico or the Dominican Republic?

How about a response to Mia Reef's constant violation of its timeshare members contracts?

Mia Reef Isla Mujeres is forcing its vacation club (timeshare) members to pay a mandatory all inclusive fee of $966 USd per week, in addition to their $600-700 annual maintenance fee. I have seen the contracts of the vacation club members and their contract clearly states that the all inclusive is Optional!

How does Mia Reef Isla Mujeres justify violating its members' contracts and having the audacity to state that "it, (Mia Reef Isla Mujeres) has the right to pick and choose what parts of the contract it accepts? At the same time Mia Reef states that the vacation club contract holders are required to fulfill the entire contract. Mia Reef insists its members pay their annual maintenance fees even though Mia Reef will not allow their vacation club members to use their resort accomodations without paying this all inclusive fee? And Mia Reef wants the extra $966 to be paid in advance! This is "EXTORTION", pure and simple!

Is Mia Reef unaware that contract law is contract law, and a contract cannot be changed unilaterally?

It seems that Mia Reef is a big bully that is taking advantage of a large group of senior citizens who paid thousands of dollars for this vacation club membership. Mia Reef Isla Mujeres is hiding behind the Mexican border, foolishly thinking that it is immune to American and Canadian lawsuits!
