This 100 years old hotel located 3 blocks from main historic plaza, although convenient, is in urgent need of remodeling. The rooms are gloomy, and the rattan furniture is worn out. The whites are old and smelly. The rates are too high for this kind of quality. There is not even an alarm clock in the room, and the key...

Mision Merida was a huge disappontment. The source of my dismay was with the promised but undelivered services. I was informed complimentary breakfast had a different meaning when translated to Spanish. A complimentary breakfast cost us 150 peso per person. I consulted a Spanish/English dictionary and I was unable to find an alternate meaning for complimentary. It means gift. The...

For the price this really is the worst hotel in Merida. My stay was a nightmare. At first glance my room looked okay, but then after using the shower, there was a terrible smell in the room, it was like living in a sewer. I tried to have the problem fixed, but the handyman told me that there is a...

We, two experienced travelers who both speak fluent Spanish stayed at this hotel in December of 2004 for two weeks. We were overcharged by the hotel and the travel agent. When we left at 5AM on New Year's Day we were charged for breakfast (which we had been assured several times by the travel agent and hotelier was included). They...

Definitely not your gorgeous 5 star hotel, for that matter not even your typical 2 star hotel. Runned down and caters to local tourists but the bell hops were always extremely helpful and friendly. The front desk staff are a bit snooty but helpful enough. Merida is hot and humid and be ready to walk into crowds of people. They...

Stayed here with my family for 2 nights in July, 2005. We only paid about $50 usd per night for each room, so I could overlook a lot. Pros: close to downtown, fairly nice pool area, hotel personnel were nice and helpful, newly renovated large bathrooms. No other Americans seen at hotel, it appears to cater to a Mexican tour...

I went to mexico with my school in feb. and we stopped in the merida mission. It was great, the food (especailly the bread rolls) and its so close to the shopping :) Exellent service, and just a very nice atmosphere. I LOVED this hotel, and I hope you do too.

I just returned from my stay in Merida, at the Mision. I thought it was a very nice hotel. The room was spacious, well decorated, spotlessly clean, and very well air conditioned. The staff was incredible. One particular bell-person (Mario, I believe) was unusually helpful and acted as a concierge and friend as well, recommending day trips, restaurants, and other attractions. When...
