We spent our honeymoon here a few years ago. Very comfortable. Large rooms. Great pool. Close to Centro, but quiet. Funky decor and furniture. Probably overpriced for Merida, but you find many places like this.

We simply did not want to leave the hotel due to its perfect charm. Wonderful interior design. We loved the pool in the middle of the building. The whole place is like a palace from a fairy tale. I've never been to such a great hotel in my life.

What a beautiful home. Lots of art, photos and antiques make this a a unique stay and enhance the mystery of this colonial house. We stayed in Frida Kahlo room. Loved artifacts and history. The rooms are dark but it adds to the experience.

We were surprised by how dusty and dark our room was. Overall it is an interesting site, quiet, with walkways and privacy is a plus. But seems quite unkept. The pool was not available for use due to some problem. Also ended up with many big bites on legs.

Everyone's right -- this place is adorable. But the antique furniture gives the place an intense mustiness that's hard to shake. I was cool with it, insisting it was "part of the charm"... until I woke up covered in bug bites. Some mosquito bites (okay, I can accept an old building not being terribly well sealed).... combined with a bunch...

I cannot say enough about how great our 5 days at Casa Mexilio were. From the gorgeous antique decor to the friendly and helpful staff to the lush courtyard garden and refreshing waters of the pool to the delicious daily breakfast - everything about Mexilio exceeded our expectations. Entering the guest house feels like stepping back in time, in a...

It felt like I was stepping back in time every time I entered Casa Mexilio. The architecture and furnishings are elegant and lovely. The courtyard was so relaxing with the sound of the fountain and lush greenery all around the pool. Nice views from the roof deck. Every day we were served a different, delicious breakfast. The rooms and common...

Wonderful place in Mérida. We stayed for three nights and it was magic. We arrived at night and it was like traveling back in time. Sort of 19th century atmosphere. The staff were super helpful. It can be a bit scary if you don't like that vintage style. But for us it was all about good taste. And the breakfasts...

The house (an active home still) has obviously been adorned with love and care by a trained eye. It is an old jewel. There was something everyday in my 4 night stay to hold my gaze. The breakfasts were simple, elegant and delicious. This is not a B&B for those who want handholding from the owners. With that said I...

I booked this hotel for one night in Merida and it looked interesting and unique on the website. When we checked in they brought us to a room and I hopped in the shower. While I was in the shower my husband went down to the reception to complain because there was a cat in our room and the room...

“The Frida room has the pool right off the door, but there's less privacy. The Manual de Falla room is lovely and only on the second floor. I wouldn't want the fourth floor...carrying all that stuff up and down, and in the heat, worse. It's a delightful place, and they guide you with what you want.”

“The Manual de Falla room was quiet. The steps to the second level in the room are quite steep, but this was not a problem for us, just something to be aware of when choosing this room.”

“The website has photos of everyroom. If you dont like to climb stairs ask for a garden level room. The guest house is like a tree house with rooms on numberous levels and bridges and walkways to move around the place.”
