I knew I wanted to stay at Casa Azul right away when I first started looking for a relaxing stay in Merida in order to visit Chichen Itza. We had spent several nights at the Fairmont in Playa Del Carmen at the beach and were looking to spend some time in a culturally rich setting. Merida does not disappoint, we... More

I had the good fortune of staying at Casa Azul during a recent trip to Merida for a friend's wedding. From start to finish I was blown away. Behind the gates of the noise and bustle of Merida lies an unexpected oasis. The former home of a wealthy local family, the property is everything you could want in a boutique... More

We stayed here for 2 nights and can say we have never stayed anywhere like it. The hotel has only 8 rooms, with a pool but no bar. Breakfast and meals are served in the central courtyard. Everywhere is spotless. Service was excellent, as was the food. The only drawback is that it is a little way from the centre... More

This is one of my favorite hotels in the world - it's small and intimate in size. The rooms are large and luxe - but they're also quiet and private. The service was excellent as was the infrastructure. But what would bring me back here is the fantastic hotel itself and the beautiful grounds.

Wow what a beautiful visit did we have to Merida and a lot if that was because of the elegant stay at Casa Azul. The attention to service was heart warming, the property was very clean, the interior design was antique elegant, the bed was super comfortable, the food (breakfast/lunch) was fresh and tasty plus the hotel recommended two of... Discovered Casa Azul while considering a 2-day Merida stay in the city center. Could not have been more pleased. The small property is impeccable having been recently restored. Classic high ceilings colonial architecture w all rooms facing breezeway and central courtyard w fountain. The cool blue color inside and out matches the cloudless skies. Beautiful tiled floors in rooms. Comfy... More

My wife and I stayed at this little gem from 12/28/15 - 1/1/16. What an amazing experience. Truly spectacular in all respects. To begin, the place itself could not be more charming. The "hotel" is really an old french-style hacienda with what I believe can't be more than 6 - 8 rooms (if there were more, I didn't see them...THAT... More

I do not write on TripAdvisor often, and this is not because of a lack of great places that I and my husband travel to. I often say, if a location is outstanding, than it is worth my time. I wanted to commend this stand out hotel for many reasons. First, the building is gorgeous, a real gem here in... More
