Last fall my husband and I travelled to Merida to learn about the local history. We stayed with Claudia, and she made every effort to connect us with experts on history, pink flamingos, authentic food. Her B & B is filled with her antiques, and the place really has an old world vibe. The gardens, pool and roof garden are... More

What a fantastic time we had. The home is just magical, as soon as you enter you're surrounded by magnificent one of a kind antiques, & beautifully placed, throughout the whole house. The downstairs is so independent from the upstairs furnished with dining room and a gorgeous living room open to the beautiful garden and pool. We climbed the upstairs... More

La Casa de la Puesta Del Sol is a spectacular oasis within the Heart of the very vibrant city of Merida. It's owner, Claudia, is a wonderful, personable fountain of information. Eduardo and Jaime, both of whom are more like sons then employees, are gracious and most helpful. They - the 3 of them - took us out to look... More

Claudia is a very fun hostess who went out of her way to make our family stay in Merida and our excursions better than ever. We used her place as a base to explore that part of Yucatan and it was so central to everything. The location is very convenient - only a block from Parque Santiago and an easy... More

This B&B was absolutely stunning and so beautifully appointed. It was only made more so by our host, Claudia, and her incredible warm, welcoming personality. It was a gift in itself to have stayed there and to have met her!

First of all, yes, La Casa de la Puesta del Sol looks just like its photos. The bedroom and downstairs living area is large, clean, lovely, comfortable and full of beautiful antiques. The garden is flourishing, upstairs is a charming kitchen and dining area and a more formal salon, and up another staircase is the rooftop deck, where there are... More

On a recent trip to Mérida, I had the pleasure of staying at la Casa de la Puesta del Sol. Claudia is wonderful host, and I could not have felt more welcomed or more pampered. The delicious homemade breakfasts she serves on her gorgeous, open air mezzanine were a wonderful way to start each day, and the pool in the... More

Perfect place, perfect location, perfect host! Claudia is absolutely fabulous. We were pampered and spoiled and are looking forward to our next visit. We loved her terrace, court yard and garden, so well hidden in the middle of the city. Claudia is an interesting lady, and we enjoyed our conversations and always invited her company. On top of that she... More

Recently, my partner and I took a short side trip to Merida while we were vacationing at the beach near Tulum. A friend of ours had told us about the recent opening of La Casa de la Puesta del Sol, a B+B in a beautiful remodelled home right near Parque Santiago. Boy, were we lucky on all counts. First, the... I recently had the pleasure of being one of the first guests at La Casa de la Puesta Del Sol (House of the setting Sun). Although the Bed and Breakfast has just opened, the proprietor is experienced at offering guests hospitality. She hosted an historic Southern Bed and Breakfast in Georgia for over 20 years. The home is in the... More
