I stay at this hotel a few times a year visiting the city. Service and overall property experience are always excellent. New addition on this trip is a small restaurant that is open within the hotel. Really good lighter food with great drinks. Bartender is really creative with fresh ingredients--he made me a drink with basil he picked right in...

We stayed at Villa Verde for 7 days and had a wonderful relaxing time. Robert and Michael took care of all the details. We felt completely cared for and thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Our room was very big and comfortable, the villa is quiet and peaceful, and the location is perfect. It could not have been better.

From the moment we walked into the property (it really should be called paradise in Merida) we were delighted! The owners and staff could not have made us feel more welcome. Their knowledge of the area was spot on! Every tour they coordinated for us down to the directions to the lavanderia (to get some wash done) were perfect. Even...

This is a splendid place to stay in the marvelous city of Merida. Situated in Santa Lucia in the colonial center, it is walking distance to the best restaurants and sites. It is a beautiful 200 year old mansion, with all of the colonial bells and whistles, but with all of the modern comforts as well. Lovely pool, and hidden...

My husband and I just returned from our second visit to Merida, again staying at the Villa Verde. After a long travel day, we walked through the front door into the lush courtyard and immediately felt at home, all our stress and tension melting away. The grounds are a small slice of tropical paradise, and the rooms are spacious and...

This is our fourth visit to Villa Verde. This superbly managed b&b has obviously pleased us in the past, and this trip was no exception. The rooms are large, air conditioned, and kept immaculate by the service staff. Breakfast is of gourmet quality and filling enough to allow a guest to skip lunch if need be. The pool is comfortably...

I loved my 14 day stay at Villa Verde. Our room was spacious with stately 20 foot ceilings, a nice reminder that we were in a beautifully renovated old colonial villa. The beds and furnishings are comfortable and attractive, but it is the public spaces that are so inviting. The lounge is a wonderful place for conversation with friends, the...

Just spent our third holiday season at Villa Verde, one of our favorite places anywhere: exquisite ambience, superb food, great hospitality. Its location in Merida's historic centro puts you within walking distance of wonderful restaurants, churches, markets, and museums. Highly recommended!

“On our first visit, we stayed in the garden room (#5) that faces the back of the property. This most recent visit, we stayed in one of the front rooms (#4). If you like authenticity, request one of front rooms (rooms 1-4). They are charming. However, they can be a bit claustrophobic because the only windows are the ones in the doors to the room that are placed higher for privacy. You still get the natural light coming in from the courtyard. We liked the garden room better because the window was larger and lower and the room is all set by itself and there is a bit more privacy. All of the rooms are wonderful, but this is more a personal preference. ”

“All the rooms are lovely, but our favorite is Room 5 at the rear of the Villa with a window overlooking the back garden.”

“1-4 are high ceilings with traditional decor. 5 is in the back, closer to the pool, and with more modern furniture. All are very spacious.”
