Real easy welcome and check in, Miguel was waiting for us as we communicated before our arrival and took us right up to our apartment and gave us a tour and all the amenities! Well done!
Small problem with the safe in the room (broken key): Miguel was there in 5 minutes with a new safe in the box and a maintenance person o change it out! Very good service and response well done!

Everything we needed for a great vacation! Clean and comfortable!

excellent the second time around. our second long term visit, 5 weeks, and just as good as we remembered.
a pool side, two bed two bath unit was perfect for two or more, 4 adults 2 child would work well. Bric people were great and Miguel and Damian were most helpful. First real post covid vaca and it was superb in all aspects. I have written about this before but I thought that Elements warranted an update.

ps if you decide to rent here use Bric management. there are others who rent here. With Bric you get an honest and accurate description of each unit and every courtesy is extended to make your stay enjoyable. One couple had a bad experience with an airbnb rental.

We are one of the few lucky couples that actually live at The Elements full time. Daily, we get to enjoy fantastic amenities, spend time with our friends at the Beach Club and receive incredible service and support from the team that works hard for the community every day. Amazing pool, only private residential beach club in Playa, and well maintained grounds. We've met so many great people, both owners and vacationers alike. It's hard not to have a good time here.

This condo hotel is good but not excellent. It was built in 2006. The first unit we stayed in was very run down, worn out and most appliances didn’t work or only half worked so they eventually moved us. The second unit was better but we still had problems with the dishwasher and one toilet. Kitchens are horribly designed and not well equipped. I talked to a women in the pool and she said her unit still had everything original and look tired. Location is good, safe and near grocery stores and shops, beach is just okay (there was considerable erosion during our stay), the pool is large and excellent. So renting here is iffy.

Property was not accurately describes on Airbnb. Hot tub did not work. Appliances did not work. Penthouse was dirty. Shower leaked. Amenities were ok. Pool was clean the property hot tub was green and smelled due to overload of kids. Small beach with piles of seaweed with odor. The locals sit in front of the small hotel beach all day and night.

It is unfortunate to hear your stay at The Elements was not enjoyable and failed to meet the standards it should have. It is important to note that The Elements is managed by various property management companies that are responsible for the maintenance and customer care. lt is our hope that you will not let your last experience keep you from a future outstanding Playa del Carmen vacation. By choosing a reputable company like Bric Vacation Rentals, recognized as one of the leading hospitality companies at The Elements and throughout the city, you can be assured a stay that exceeds all of your expectations.

For the renter Playa can be challenging. The beaches are all public, no umbrellas, no chairs...nothing only the beautiful sea and fine sand. If not staying at a sea side, luxury hotel, the walk from your condo to the beach lugging chairs, umbrellas ect can present an inconvenience. If reluctant to bring your own the options are paying a daily fee to a beach club or renting from locals on beach. The beach clubs provide all you will need, food, comfort and facilities but at a price, also they tend to be noisy with loud, thumping, incessant "music". So you find yourself on a lovely beach with decisions to make every day...can be a hassle!
Staying at THE ELEMENTS eliminates all of the above. It has its OWN PRIVATE BEACH, the only condo complex in Playa with this luxury. It has a beautiful extra large pool with showers and a Jacuzzi tub. The complex is configured so that everyone has direct ocean frontage from the large decks, in fact in my condo you could hear the sound of the surf...fantastic!!!The units are spacious with 21/2 baths, gigantic showers and plenty of closet space. This was the best condo that I have ever seen, and I travel often.
When renting premium properties one expects amenities..air, large screen TVs, stainless ect. However, the defining quality is service. The Elements has a virtual army of people to groom the grounds..always, every day. The maid, Mari, was gracious and pleasant, amazing as we speak no Spanish and she no English but it worked with a smile. Miguel, the 'manager' was fantastic..always. Speaks perfect English, always available for anything or everything...yes is the first word out of his mouth...toaster broken?one hour Miguel delivers a new one...trouble getting US TV channels phone in minutes...set up computer, cell phone ect..done...restaurant or travel info..pick up the phone..and wait for knock on door..my wife wanted her nails done...Miguel has someone..I needed a barber...done! Message on beach done....get the picture? And I must say the everyone at complex was gracious..always.
Luxury and amenities come with a price. The 2 bed condos are expensive but they can easily accomodate 6..the two floor penthouses are gigantic, complete with private roof top jacuzzi, but can easily sleep 8 or more with kids. If you want a memorable vaca and are willing to pay extra , but not that much extra, this is the place to bask in the sea, sun and go to a private beach with a private bar and a private message tent.

Four teacher friends rented this unit for February break, based on a retired colleague's recommendation (she was here with her husband in November, 2012). It proved to be a great base to explore Playa del Carmen and the surrounding area and more than met our needs. We rented through Bric rentals, and this seems to be the way to go, as you get additional services you might not get when renting from an individual owner. These included maid service on weekdays, a cell phone to contact the manager Damian 24/7, etc. They also arranged for a grocery package to be in the unit when we arrived.

All the units in this complex are two bedroom, and the only problematic aspect was that two of us had to share a king bed. It would be nice if the kings could convert to two beds when being used for renters that don't want to share a bed. But the two that shared said the bed was so big, it was like sleeping in your own bed. And since units are decorated by the individual owners, I guess they buy what meets their needs.

Our unit --Penthouse 14 --was nicely furnished and had large closets, nice bathrooms, a washer/dryer (great help!), ironing board/iron (which leaked), and fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, etc. The view from our balcony was of the pool and the beach beyond. (Our building was in the bottom left corner of the U shape the complex makes. If you rent through Bric, they will advise you as to what view various units have -- they warned us that a palm tree blocked the view from the balcony of another unit we considered, and every time we were in the pool we would look at that unit and that palm tree and say, "Glad we didn't rent that one!").

The rooftop terrace was a little less spectacular than it could be -- just two loungers, a hot tub with a cover that wouldn't stay on when it was windy, and a broken down grill (there was a new Weber grill on the balcony, we would have preferred a gas grill). I think some of the furniture on the main floor's balcony was meant to be on the rooftop terrace but had been moved downstairs. Owners might increase the rentability of their units by paying more attention to the functionality of the amenities they provide. We ended up using the balcony during the day and the rooftop terrace early morning or evenings when the sun wasn't as strong. But it would have been a great place to eat had it been set up in that way.

It was easy to get to Fifth Ave., however the two blocks up to it are in a state of construction and without lighting at night. It was safe to walk though. We also took cabs home some nights. If you want to walk the full length of 5th Ave. bring your walking shoes, it is a hike to get to the end, but we liked being away from the noise yet still accessible to the action. On our walks at night, we were VERY glad we weren't in some of the noisier areas of 5th Ave. as some of the hotels are, since we value our sleep, especially during a vacation.

One thing people should be aware of is that Elements is being a bit "over marketed" -- it is NOT a hotel, though the concierge told us they are attempting to provide more services for renters. We had some difficulty getting some of the basics, like hand soap or shower soap (maid didn't always leave some), and though they provided beach towels, it was a little problematic exchanging the dirty ones for clean ones as only Damian can give them out and he wasn't always available when we wanted to get one. It also does NOT have a "beach club". What is has is a private beach, with clean sand and loungers and palapas, roped off from the main beach. So you have a place to sit in sun or shade, but there is no drink service or anything like that. Cannibal Royal Beach Club is just "next door" past the fisherman alley (little sandy path fishermen use to get to their boats, set up their gear, etc). We had drinks and appetizers there one day and it is a cute place. The pool at Elements is spectacular, though, much larger than ones we saw at nearby resorts. A very nice spot to pass the time!

I walked to the left (north) for a good long way one day, past the new Paradisus La Perla resort. It was one of my favorite parts of the trip -- isolated, practically desert-island like stretch of beach that allows you to imagine what PDC was like before the development and stores came.

There are some great restaurants in walking distance -- we had breakfast twice at the awesome French bakery cafe (Chez Céline) -- it is just about a 10 min. walk from Elements and I can't recommend it enough! Great pastry, excellent yogurt and granola, and nice atmosphere. We also had lunch at La Cueva del Chango which is even closer. (We would walk left on Calle Flamingo over to to Calle 38 Norte instead of straight up to Fifth Ave. from Elements and found that route more shaded and pleasant, even though part of Calle Flamingo isn't paved.) Dinners included La Bodguita del Medio, El Diez Parrilla Argentina, the place with the swings at the bar, and an awesome last night dinner at Ajua Maya. The best food we ate, though, was the day we went to Cozumel and took a taxi to the east side of the island and had lunch at Chen Rio -- we got the fish platter and it was delicious!

We used a local travel agency to set up day trips to Xel-ha (which was great especially if you are a family and looking to keep the kids busy), and another to Tulum/Coba. Both worthwhile and gave us a chance to see the region. We did the Cozumel trip on our own, taking the ferry from the center of town. We went on a day when there were no cruise ships in port (Sunday) and it seemed a little sleepy but Chen Rio was great (our cab driver suggested we go there because it was unusually windy on the west side that day and calmer on the other side of the island -- or so he told us and so it seemed).

So - if you are okay with a condo rental that has a lovely pool and a nice stretch of beach, is out of the crazy zone of PDC yet close enough to walk to Fifth Ave's attractions, Elements is a great spot. We found it made a great home away from home!

First, the pictures look much better than what you get. We stayed in the 3 bedroom penthouse overlooking a trash pile full of concrete on the public beach. We confirmed a 3 year old child as the 9th occupant months earlier with Expedia but they had no record of it. Initially said it was fine, then Miguel tried to swindle us the next morning claiming the owners wanted more money although it has been confirmed and at check in it was confirmed and that it wasn’t an issue. Miguel did offer to move us to another 2 star resort that didn’t have a beach or ocean view which was the reason for staying here. We declined. The entire week the place was a construction zone and there was no use of the pool. Construction was loud and a pool was key in making our decision to stay here with 5 small children. Of course, there was no accommodation made or reduction in price. The fridge wouldn’t get cold and the upstairs bathroom leaked, but we didn’t ask for service based on our prior interactions with Miguel.

Also irritating was the fact that staying in a condo you had to wear a plastic bracelet although there were no real amentities and it is not an all-inclusive.
I stay in Playa at least twice a year for the last couple of years and this was the biggest bait and switch and jerk around that I’ve experienced. I’d avoid at all costs. We will not patronize here or any other Bric properties in the future. Save yourself the hassle and avoid.

Your frustration is understandable and we are very dismayed that you did not enjoy your time at The Elements. The unfortunate misunderstandings with the initial reservation set your vacation off to a poor start. Although our team, especially Miguel, strives to provide excellent service, sometimes there are glitches, which we do our best to resolve. You can be assured that every scenario that does not have a positive outcome is analyzed by the team so that we may make revisions to our systems and services so that the same issues do not arise the second time. As for the bracelets, they are worn so that guests of the Elements can receive access to the exclusive beach club. We apologize for the inconveniences you experienced and would welcome the opportunity to show you a blissful stay at The Elements.

This was the second time my wife and I have stayed in this immaculate unit. Flat screen tv's, HBO, juice maker. This is one of the few condos at the Elements that has sliding screen doors and a balcony off each bedroom. With the ocean breeze we could open the doors all day and night, leave the AC off, listen to the waves and smell the fresh air.
Damien and BRIC took good care of us. Como Como on 5th Ave. and 40th street is the best an only a 5 minute walk from the condo. You must have a reservation because it is popular every night and it has maybe 15 tables. Wide selection on the menu and great prices on wine. Damien will help get you the reservations. Get a 90 minute massage at the Elements beach club for about $25-30. Nice ladies who give a great massage under a canopy and the ocean breeze. When not on the beach we spendt a lot of time on the condo balcony. It is nicely furnished and has great views. Maybe it was the drinks but 2-3 hours every evening was how we spendt the time after the beach and before we went out for dinner. Hamburgers at Fogon across from Como Como were also a nice suprise.

We stayed at the Elements
Do not – under any circumstances – use Playa Moments for a trip to Mexico. Our trip was painful, filled with broken promises, and hours trying to deal with a host of issues. This particular property is in a great location, but is old and dated, and needs a lot of repair.

In terms of the specific issues, here are just a few:

1. The property was filthy on arrival with insects in freezer, dirt everywhere, blood spots on mattress. We had to clean it for several hours, and then brought intwo maids to spend 2 hours cleaning.
2. Electrical lights flickered and went out when using an outlet, AC and Washer stopped. Very concerned about wiring and fire hazard.
3. Moderate leak around toilet in guest bath required out of service 24 hours, second toilet plugged up morning of early departure.
4. Massive leak from washing machine turned off. Took two hours to mop up floor.
5. They failed to coordinate maid service on one of the days (maid service was meant to occur daily)
6. Toaster did not work and not replaced until day 4
7. One of main features, Jacuzzi was not filled on arrival, repaired next day but heater did not work. 2 days later repaired not by handyman but then took 2 hours to heat. Told really needed second heater. Only used once.
8. Playa Moments doubled the charge on any tours or transportation i.e. >$150 van from airport, another service charged $60 that we used for return.
9. Subsequently heard very very bad things about Playa Moments. Run by woman who has over 100 units and hired 20 year old's to put out the fires and act as concierges. You only deal with her on front end to sell services. Her solution was to offer about $250and give us a bottle of wine!

Airbnb was great about listening to use and getting us a partial refund.

How unfortunate to receive the news of this disaster when all vacations to Playa del Carmen should be ones to remember fondly. This list of issues is embarrassing and we assure you, this is not the typical Elements standard as far as accommodations, amenities, and services go. If there is any way we can make this situation right with a future stay, we would be more than happy to show you what a memorable vacation can be had at The Elements.

There’s only one beach club close to Elements called Martina, this is a day club and it usually closes at 7pm and they usually have music but not too loud. About once a month they have a special event.

Yes the beach is not amazing but if you walk to the north side it was nice. My sisters ran that side in the morning and loved it. My daughter and I like to hang around the pool.
