My new wife and i just returned today from a four night stay at the Reef Playacar. When arriving to the resort my first thoughts: long drive in, but i guess that is the only way to playa del Carmen (about an hour and half after your driver makes a couple of stops. Second, I immediately thought the place was...

My husband and I went to The Reef for my brothers wedding. There were about 60 of us that went for this celebration. Of the 60 that went down for the wedding 58 of us got sick and I mean like death bed sick. For those that got down there earlier in the week there sickness came earlier which was...

I just returned from 4 wonderful days at the Reef Club in Playa. To be clear, my friends and I stayed at her condo nearby, so only visited the Reef Club during the day. For $40 US you can hang out at the hotel from 8 am to 6 pm, enjoy the beach and pools, and all food/drinks included. Really,...

We arrived on May 12th and left on May 15th. Me and my wife had a GREAT time. The only complaint would be the Time Share assault. They do not take no for an answer. They reeled us in, and we were suppose to have breakfast with them on the 13th, but when they called me in my room I...

It's a nice resort, but unsanitary. You'll notice that utensils and glasses are not so clean. I think that's why most of us got sick. The sand on the beach was clean however the water was rough and not safe for kids. Diving was lousy. It's better to go snorkling somewhere else.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Reef April 15-29. The Good: Grounds were beautiful, beach very nice, white sand etc. Drinks were pretty good for an all inclusive and I thought the rooms were pretty good with the exception of our broken air conditioner the first night. Some of the staff such as Antonio. The Bad: The virus that...

The resort is beautiful but the rest was awful. We were there for 7 nights starting on the 29th of April and ending the 6th of May. The first thing is the concierge.... as they like to call themselves. Not so much they are there to sell you "Vacation Club". Say "NO" and they will try again and again making...

We travelled to the Reef from April 24- May1. We really enjoyed our stay. The resort itself was beautiful- A lush jungle environment with a beautiful beach- Some days there were very strong waves and other days very mild- The pool areas were small but nice- There was a great kiddie pool that was about 1.5 feet- Don't be fooled...

We loved everything about this resort except the food. Great beach. Our room looked over the inside garden with the cenote and the jungle like view. The air conditioner worked too well that we had to keep turning it off. We had plenty of hot water with all four of us showering. The 2 pools were great and just steps...

My wife and I visited the Reef Playacar from April 29- May 4th, it was our second stay. Our first, last year for our wedding, was definately the better expeirence. The first 2 days were great, and we didn't see any signs of anyone being sick. The new measures for sanitation, including hand sanitizer and guests no longer being able...
