We spent a week with another couple at the Reef Playa and this resort needs help. The two resturants, mexican/Itailian nees help. I am sure the Filet of Steak was Donkey. The King room we requested turned out to be 2 doubles looking over the back parking lot with lots of construction going on by 6am. Finally got moved to...

Good value for the price. Smaller resort, basic rooms, beds are very hard. Tons of options at the buffet (breakfast, lunch & dinner), you can always find something to eat. Lots of fresh cut fruit at breakfast, nice breads. Good fries at day time snack bar, also has late night snack bar. No disco here. Very nice staff, super friendly....

We stayed at the Reef for the 6th time and figured to pass along a few thoughts about our stay. Overall, it was a great stay, 9 days of sun and relaxation. The high notes; Size - we really like the smaller resort, intimate feeling and everthing is a short walk Location - 15 minute walk from Playa Del Carmen...

My wife and I just returned from a five-day stay at the Reef Playacar in Playa del Carmen Qunitana Roo. We wanted a smaller (and less expensive) all-inclusive resort and chose the Reef from a short list. The hotel, sitting next to the massive and ornate Riu Palace looks unimposing. The lobby and bar area were well-kept and small. Check-in...

This is a cute hotel, only has 1 buffet, and 2 restaurants that are alternately opened from day to day ( one night the Italian restaurant, the next night, the Mexican, and so on )There is only one Buffet restaurant for everybody and almost every morning and every night there was a...

The hotel is located in a great area and we got an excellent price for a last minute booking. The room is large and confortable, not many amenities but ok! The best is the beach and the activities including sailing with a teacher.

My husband and I went here for our honeymoon and found it very relaxing. The people were very friendly, staff and other vacationers. The beach was fabulous and the views were spectacular. I will definitely be back here again. It is in the center of it all. Playa Del Carmen is within walking distance, and most of the tours are fairly...

A few things: first, just take a taxi from airport to hotel and back, it is $20 per person each way by taxi and about half the time as the shuttle. It took us 2.5 hours by shuttle one way to get to our hotel, horrible!! They told us it would only be 45 minutes. Same price as taxi, but...

We just got back from a wonderful week at Reef Playacar. My wife and I, and two other couples often travel together. This intimate—202 rooms—AI resort in a gated community was a whole lot more than we expected. The hotel’s unique design includes winding paths through jungle-like gardens, waterfalls, and a tropical canopy. The rooms are comfortable. The individual terraces...

As soon as we walked in, we were bombarded by a concierge trying to sell time shares! If anyone approaches you right away, GET AWAY! The service was terrible! We were ignored every day! Pool was disgusting as if never cleaned.. The longer we stayed the worse it became. The room was gross. Mold all over the walls, and numerous...
