We booked this 2 bed 3 bath room from 12/19/20 through 12/28/20. We were very pleased when we arrived. There are 2 gates to enter the resort. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful! The good rooms are HUGE and very clean, updated and modern. We had a full kitchen and a large deck with a hot tub. We had an issue with our stove and dishwasher , but as soon as we sent a message via WhatsApp , they sent repair people to fix it. They actually replaced the oven and the dishwasher , on Christmas Eve no less! The pools are clean and wonderful for the family. There is a private beach that was a 3 minute walk from our room. We were able to drive to city center ( 5th Avenue area) in less then 10 minutes. We were given a keyless entry to our room , which was nice not to have a key to worry about and no contact with COVID. We have come to Quintana Roo many times , and by far this was the best place we have stayed! There is a beach club right down the beach that does snorkeling and paddle boards, drinks and food. The on-site restaurant was great as well! I cannot say enough about how great our stay was here! I had read reviews that made me a little nervous , that is why I want to leave this one! Yes, there is some remodeling going on within the resort, it never affected our trip or our stay. We will certainly be back! The pictures you see when booking are very accurate- here are a few pictures of our view, the beach and from the deck. We were in building 4 Norte garden view. There is a little store in the lobby and service stations right out side the gate. Our unit did not have a washer and dryer - they did say some of them do however.

Mareazul is a nice, higher-end resort, on the beach, with many units. Ours was 3+ bedrooms, good amenities, and a really nice environment. The pool is really 4 pools strung together, going down to the sea. The sea itself is clean, warm and inviting. Staff are attentive and careful; the whole place is really clean. The *entire* pool deck was being renewed while we were here, not a big deal, and it will be really nice when done in a few weeks (they are moving fast). Security is tight, and the exercise room/front office is highly responsive to even small emergencies, such as when you forget the combo to your room safe (ask me how I know!) Punto Azul, the onsite resturaunt, is more expensive than some of the downtown places, but very good. Rent a car to see Tulum and the cenotes, or you can use taxis. Don't drive in Playa if you don't have nerves of steel.

Pros: Apartment was very spacious, quiet, clean, the views were beautiful, the pool was huge (but was undergoing some maintenance), the beach was very nice, loved that we had laundry facilities in our apartment. When the air conditioning broke someone came promptly to fix it. Patio was nicely furnished to have breakfast out there or to just sit in the sun. There weren’t the usual competitions for chairs on the beach or by the pool – very easy to get them. No extra cost for chairs on the beach.

Drawbacks: We booked this resort through Expedia. It is advertised as a hotel condo resort. There were towels in the condo, but no other supplies. Since this booking was billed as a hotel, when we ran out of tp, we asked the front desk for more. They looked it up in a book and told us the contract they have with the booking entity doesn’t cover tp. So, we had to go to the store and buy tp. Many things you would expect (washcloths, dishcloths) were not in the condo. I checked both the hotel’s website and Expedia’s listing before we went to see what was provided but did not find any info. The check-in process was not smooth. The address and phone that Expedia provides is incorrect. I contacted the resort 3 days ahead for the entrance codes as directed by Expedia and was told by the hotel that they would send them one day before. We did not receive them a day before and were trying very hard to contact someone before our flight left to get the codes. They finally emailed them while we were on our flight there but would have been much less stressful to have them in hand before we left. We booked an oceanfront condo with the swim out pool. The one pane of glass (the stationary part, not the door part), was not attached all the way to the wall – there was about a ½ inch gap and this caused a very loud and constant howling noise unless we left the patio door cracked open.
Overall, I think they have the potential to be a really great place to stay but there needs to be clearer information about what is/is not provided, provide more supplies in the condo, and better communication about check-in. Didn’t really feel like we got great value for the money we spent. When I was originally looking, there were some options at the same place available through Airbnb. I would recommend booking through Airbnb because they would be better set up for guests and offer better and more attentive service to assist with needs while you are there.

We booked a condo at Mareazul very last minute and were pleased with our experience. The resort itself is about 10 minutes from the heart of Playa del Carmen. We did not have a car and took a taxi (300 pesos) into town twice. All of our taxi drivers were familiar with the resort. There are two layers of security to get into the resort, which made us feel safe, given we had a first floor unit (701S) near the entrance. The condo itself was spacious, with a lot windows and natural light. The decor and furniture were modern. We arrived about 4:15 pm (check in was after 4:00) and there was still someone finishing the cleaning in our unit. The cleanliness was pretty good, but a few little things like old dish cloth with stains, moldy dish drying rack, some hair in the bathroom and streakiness on the refrigerator. Some of the bathroom fixtures were a little moldy, damaged. We had a few issues - like being locked out of our condo once, not having ice trays or a pump for the filtered water, but all issues were resolved quickly when we texted the administers. The resort complex is very large and we were at the way back, so getting to the pool, beach and restaurants was a bit of walk. We ate at both restaurants a few times. The one by the beach had the best service we had during our trip in Mexico. We liked the breakfast food more than the lunch options. As mentioned in the reviews, the pool is extensive, filled with bridges, Lilly pads, levels and all sorts of fun platforms for the kids. The chairs at the beach get taken up pretty early, but the beach itself is quite private and has nice fluffy white sand. One day the beach was a little wavy and the other it was nice and calm. The resort had two tennis courts and 1 paddel court to use, free of charge, including the equipment. We did not use the fitness center, which required a "reservation" and that you bring your own towel. There are paths outside of the resort gates that are great for walking or running. We were a family with two teenagers and enjoyed our stay. I think this condo complex would be great for families with even younger kids or for multi families vacationing together.

Place is beautiful, but if anyone is renting above you, or there is construction anywhere in a building, be ready to stay up all night, because of your neighbors and listen to banging Because of construction. The banging is insane. Any sane person would loose their mind. So much construction going on that you don’t even know. Then if your neighbors that are here on vacation as most units rented for Airbnb’s, you won’t even get a brake during the night. The stomping, the furniture moving it’s absolutely insane. Go stay somewhere else if you truly want a peaceful vacation. Unless you get super lucky.

Lovelt condo, enjoyed every minute of this pool heaven place. Quiet and peaceful right on the beach, some 2.5 km from Playa del Carmen. Some rooms with swim-up option. Most have sea-view. All pretty positive.
Just had a few hopefully helpful pointers... more signs from the top north side needed to places such as shop and reception areas. Disabled ramps to foyer of condo building needed... fine from roadside but a step up to the entrance of building, not good for wheelchairs! Food in restaurant was very good and not too expensive, but pool bar is way too pricey!

The apartment we stayed in was beautiful and so clean. The pool is stunning and the beach is very close, just past the pool and very beautiful too. All the staff working here, especially Jessica on the front desk reception area are so kind and helpful. The security is very thorough and we felt completely safe here. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was because of the building work around us, which was noisy and spoiled the otherwise super relaxing holiday. I don't think it will be like that all the time so maybe just check before you book. Otherwise I definitely recommend this place for a holiday. Also just want to add, it's not near the main centre, you can't really walk to shops from here, you must order a taxi to go places. They do have a small shop on the premises near the reception area to buy essentials.

We had been living here for 7 months. Our unit is first floor with mini private pool in building 5 North. I can’t even explain how nice it is here until the unit not even on top of us, but on third floor is rented how extremely loud it is, usually it’s rented for 5 plus people, they are on vacation go to sleep late, when they are moving furniture, dinning chairs it feels like it’s an earth quick. When they are walking praying till morning it’s a nightmare. I would only recommend this place to those that don’t have small kids nor pets and able to rent top floor. It’s absolutely awful. Security will do absolutely nothing to help with the sound either. We can’t even imagine what will happen ones they unit above is fixed and rented. We can’t wait to finish our lease and move to a house. We will miss this place but our health is more important. Now we are sleep deprived so are our little kids. By the way the beach has been awful since the beginning of May due to seaweed so you can’t even swim.

Arrived late at night 03/25 so we were tired and unfamiliar with the code machine but managed to figure it out after a few attempts. Once inside, the unit was exactly as described and as shown in listing photos. The unit was immaculate and the entire property itself is amazing! A couple of drawbacks, though, are that the water pressure is almost non-existant in the master shower as we found out our first night there. Our family of four ended up using the guest shower the rest of our 6 night stay. Also, there is no dishwasher. The property grounds are beautiful. There was never many people at the pool, which is gigantic, and often it felt as if we had it all to ourselves. The private beach was also gorgeous, though, did not use it much, but thankfully when we did, there was not much sargassum. Sadly, there was much more on a second occasion we attempted to use it. Will definitely stay again and in fact are hoping to return next year with many more friends and family.

We stayed at this property for a week recently. We booked through the property. We saw previous reviews and experienced many of the same issues.

On the positive side the property is well kept and has one of the biggest pools I have seen at a resort. The staff was also pleasant and helpful. And the food at the two restaurants on site was always good.

The property has potential but needs some TLC. It was probably a really nice property when first built but could use some updating. Our unit was on the beach which was mostly unusable due to the seaweed. The unit was not well cleaned and had some small issues like a leaky toilet and very wobbly ceiling fan.

We were locked out of building after returning one night and needed security to fix the lock. The unit next door was being renovated which was kind of loud during the day.

The location is about about 15 from downtown Playa Del Carmen by car. There is nothing around the property itself to walk to.

One of the biggest issues was communication with the property management leading up to the trip. Emails weren’t always clear about instructions. They have a portal but it really doesn’t accomplish anything by having it. They mostly communicate by using the WhatsApp which I did not have.

Overall it is not a bad property. I think with some improvements and attention to detail I could see it being a really good place to stay.

I have cancelled my reservervation in order to the bad critics from other people and also because they never answer my consults worst of all they did not found the reservation made with best day, and that decided me to cancel just in case... But I remember it was not pet friendly. May beyou can ask them by Facebook messenger in that way is the only way i had obtained answers in two days aprox.
