Daniel and Alan were the best waiters! So attentive and generous. Excellent recommendations from the menu when we weren’t sure what to order. Made sure we had everything we wanted and needed. Made it hard to leave!
Smaller resort which we loved. You walk out of your room and can be on the beach in less that 3 minutes from anywhere on the property. Very good food. Clean comfortable rooms. Most importantly The NICEST and MOST ACCOMODATING staff I have ever encountered. Get a massage and book the Italian restaurant one night.
Wonderful massage given by Ileana. My husband and I have had her many times over the years and I always found it was an excellent job. The food at the resort is just acceptable, they have a lot of things, but they are mostly Mexican. The beds are hard and the pillows are hard but the beach is wonderful. The location is wonderful and we have gone there over the years several times
Our experience at the reef hotel was quite well location was the best part of it we could find anything we need it near by food is good but rooms are not what we expected not bad but nothing out of the ordinary
We loved this place! If you are looking for a small AI with chilled vibes and great views this is the place. The beach is incredible, white sand, calm water. The staff do an excellent job clearing any seaweed. We were hesitant after reading some reviews, but we really wanted to be close to 5th Ave, and most other hotels are further out. The location is perfect, literally 5-10 minute walk to avenue. (5 mins for us at a steady pace.) The hotel food was good, lots of fresh fruit & seafood. The Japanese restaurant was our favorite. I am lactose free and was able to still find many options. We booked a Premium package as we wanted the better drinks and no limitations. Drinks were great! There is a premium side to the beach, which has comfortable beds and it's own bar, would recommend, but I don't feel it is necessary to have a good time. The sports bar was great, especially the bartender - Wilbert (Willy!) Made the best drinks, and made us feel like family. My only recommendation would be to open the sports bar earlier (especially on weekends when the NFL, soccer etc is on during the day time.) We watched our NFL games in the lobby with no sound as the beach bar didn't have signal all the time we were there. …
The group reservation team of the hotel is the best! They always make sure that everything you need is given and comfort and enjoyment on your vacation is their priority. I would like to give a shoutout to Perla the manager of the team as she goes above and beyond in providing excellent customer service to their customers. She is a very hardworking employee and very responsive to whatever needs you have even if it is beyond her duty hours. Thank you so much Perla and hope to see you again!
The Reef Coco Beach Review Overall I enjoyed my stay at The Reef Coco Beach which I will go into detail below. I was traveling to this area because I enrolled in a freediving course with Amancay Divers. I’ll leave a separate review for that. Prior to booking I was reading through many of the other reviews for this property and a lot appeared to be fake. Therefore, I wanted to make sure I left a review after my stay so other travelers could hear some genuine feedback. I booked a Premium Package with Partial Ocean View for four nights. This included an upgraded beverage package which I didn’t care about, but I wanted to see the ocean. I was very happy to be given an oceanfront room on the top floor. In that regard it couldn’t have been better. The room had two double/queen beds and a very nice bathroom. I thought the room was well appointed and housekeeping did an excellent job of keeping it clean. Soda, beers, and plenty of water bottles were provided each day. The room had a balcony with two chairs. The drapes and sheers did an excellent job of either diffusing the light or blocking it out entirely for sleeping. The safe was large enough to hold a large laptop and other items. There were a lot of electrical and USB outlets available by the beds and on the other side of the room. My biggest complaint was that I found the bed too hard. I said something at the desk and they added more blankets underneath which helped a little, but not much. There was some noise at night but mostly it was not an issue. The only night I was slightly bothered by it was Saturday when the property was hosting a wedding on the beach. Another minor issue was I thought the water in the bathroom had a sulfur smell, but that could just be how the water is in Mexico. The AC worked very well, though I could not turn the temperature up or down. It was either on or off. One of my reasons for selecting this property was that it offered a buffet for all meals. Since I was traveling alone and doing a class the entire time I was here I wanted something easy. I didn’t want to deal with reservations or long dinners. Dinner seemed to have a theme each night- Italian night, Mexican night, Asian night, and maybe International(?) night. I can be fussy, and there are a lot of foods that I can’t eat but I could always find something. Some items were excellent and others less so. The benefit of a buffet was that I could try different things and not eat them if I didn’t like them. Staff were pleasant but not overly attentive. A couple areas the buffet could improve: 1) Have more hand sanitizers available, especially near the food stations. There was only one at the bar and after touching all the serving utensils that everyone else touched I always wanted to sanitize. Make sure everything is labeled! Salad dressings were never labeled and unidentifiable. Many foods had labels, but not all. Servers should check in with diners more for water refills, removing dirty plates, etc… Overall the property is well maintained, clean, and beautiful. The pool and landscaping are beautiful. I got to watch the sunrise over the ocean each morning. I would consider coming here again. Lastly, I wanted to talk about my experience using The Reef Travel Shop to book my airport transfer. Coming to the property was excellent. The driver reached out to me after I landed via WhatsApp and patiently waited for me when it took FOREVER to get through the immigration line. The return trip left a lot to be desired. My flight was scheduled for 4:30. My pickup time at the hotel was 10:30 in the morning! SIX HOURS before my flight! Travel time to the airport in Cancun is 50 minutes. I was pissed. Unfortunately I didn’t notice the pickup time until the day before when it was too late to change so that’s on me. I went down to the front desk and the man there said there’s construction around the airport and it could take 2 – 2/12 hours. I said it didn’t take that long when I arrived! I thought he was a little rude and dismissive. He looked up my room # and said oh, you booked through Expedia, you should talk to them. One- I did not book through Expedia. I booked my ROOM through Chase Travel. Two- I booked the airport transfer DIRECTLY through the hotel. So I said ok, we’ll I’ll be curious to see how long it actually takes. It took one hour. I am writing this review from the airport where I arrived FIVE HOURS ahead of time. Unfortunately this negative experience is making me end a good vacation on a sour note.…
The resort was very clean and a very fun place to be around! The lively music and entertaining staff made for a very great stay! The staff were all very friendly and fun to interact with, especially Boris!
Very welcoming and very friendly people. All bilingual!! Rooms have AC, food is great, pool is huge. I recommend everyone to come here! Boris is so fun, and gets everyone involved in all the activities that take place here at the resort, such as competitions, games, dancing, karaoke and so much more that takes place and he does it all.
It was a great experience. We loved our time gere and it was hard to go home special thanks to Boris (Animation), milton (bar) and Daniel (mexican retaurant). The seevice was good. The rooms were clean and well furnishes
