Watch what you pay for here. There is kind of a bait and switch. There are 2 parts to the hotel, old and new. The old is insecure, doors only shut if you use deadbolt, otherwise they fly open in the wind. Two plugs in in the room, can't adequately charge phones and so on if you have a fridge....

I've been travelling for two decades, I write for a series of travel guides and websites. My two night stay at Maya Brick was without doubt the worst stay I've ever had in a hotel. Cockroaches, no hot water arrogant staff, no access to the pool as it was full of scubadivers, tv didn't work, manager was total jerk, I...

I recently stayed 2 nights at Maya Bric Hotel (mbh) in playa del Carmen, Mexico (pdc). My sole intention for visiting pdc was due to its beach location and proximity to Tulum, chitchen itza and Cozumel. Given my itenerary was so packed, I didn't care too much about having a super fabulous hotel. I figured I'd be away from the...

Maya Bric was a great place to stay for my first visit to Mexico. The front desk staff was very helpful and informative. The breakfast was good. And the overall experience of the hotel was great.

We stayed here for 2 nights before we returned to UK from Cancun, so that my son could do a bit more kitesurfing. This hotel is on the pedestrian street, so its difficult to get a taxi to deliver you. We had arrived by bus from Merida, and didn't realise it was so close. Locals very helpful. Its a basic...

This is a nice hotel which is situated in the heart of the city center of Playa del Carmen. It takes literally 10 seconds to get from your hotelroom to the main street of Playa del Carmen. Rooms have a nice modern design, are very clean and looked brand new when I was there for 2 nights in February 2012....

Spent one night here for a pit stop in PDC in late December 2011. It is what it is. Not a destination and not a place I would want to spend more than a night or two while in transit but perfectly serviceable as a crash pad. We were here for about 12 hours. Beds were OK and the showers...

We loved the location, right in the middle of Playa. Nice swimming pool. It is true, a little bit noisy, but it is alright to sleep, no worries... I would def go back there.
