This hotel boutique is a gem and a great value in a fantastic location. They are going to screw up a lot of stuff. The bar will close early. Getting bedding or towels might be met with resistance (not hostility though). The coffee in the lobby is instant. At least one of the hot tubs is going to be broken. You will worry about the security of your in-room safe and if you will be charged for the items in the room (that are missing) that say you can buy them if you want, even though they aren't there.

However- two of those hot tubs are going to be working. The 3 pools are all delightful. When the bartenders are there, they will make you a beautiful and affordable cocktail. Sometimes you walk through the lobby and there is a little wine or a pastry waiting for you. I appreciated that instant coffee, always there for a quick pick me up. The desk staff was friendly and made us feel welcome.

Walmart is 2 blocks away and there's a fridge for your bottled water (they always had bottled water jugs in the lobby also). the AC is a bit loud but will render your room to an arctic environment if you forget to turn it off. You'll sleep fine with the sounds of the AC. We didn't have trouble with noise from outside, but we did go to sleep late each night. On the weekend, a little vendors market sprang up in the park right across the street.

I enjoyed our stay. for the price, this is a gem.

Several things that I liked firstly the dedicated personalized welcome, the room is perfect the four-poster bed in solid wood WoW the wooden furniture the bath is large in some rooms the Koranic shower and the small one next to it provided by the hotel large beach towel at our disposal in the room on the private balcony.
On the site there is an incredibly large and sunny roof top all day long with a swimming pool and a jacuzzi, on the first floor two beautiful large clean swimming pools and another jacuzzi with lots of palm tree vegetation we are like in the jungle.
Located directly in the city center, it is not noisy like in other hotels nearby. I advise you to take a room on the second floor with an elevator to admire the garden and the swimming pools and the jacuzzi. There are warm long ones in wrought iron and not in plastic the decoration of the hotel is full of furniture and quality antique accessories it is beautiful to see there are plenty of outdoor beds for free sunbathing no extra for that there is a bar on the roof top cheap alcohol we have at our disposal at the reception coffee tea and free water and even wine in the evening. I took 5 days from Paul to make the most of this surprising hotel.

I spent my birthday week at La Pasion in July this year with my Mom. Not all rooms are equal. I loved my room!!! Had a great layout, lots of wood, comfy bed, a balcony, and the AC was beautifully cold!! loved the cable, awesome movie channels ! The mini fridge was great as well! By the reception there is 24 hours complimentary instant coffee, tea, and nice cold water. My mom complained that her room was small, the hotel not kept up, with outdated furniture, etc. I loved it. It is cozy, intimate, quiet, authentic, and different. I felt at home, and didn't want to leave. The 2 pools and jacuzzi are surrounded by palm trees and luscious plants, and they are clean, and never crowded. The breakfast was amazing! I included it in my purchase, and I was expecting coffee/tea, juice and bagels/muffins. No sir. They gave you a menu! You could pick from different omelets, breakfast burritos, doughnuts, fruits, pancakes, sausage, toast, sandwiches, juices, coffee, milk, tea, I mean...I was shocked!!! The location is great! There's a convenience store at the corner, and one block away there's a Walmart! Right next to the hotel, there's a restaurant you can't miss. Food there is delicious, and 3 blocks away there's all sorts of shops, cafes, restaurants with live music, malls, souvenir shops, artisans, etc. I will forever cherish my stay at La Pasion Hotel!

We checked in on November 9th and checked out on November 14th. When we arrived it was dark and late maybe 10 pm. We chose a room with a balcony and city view. When we were taken to our room, we were on the 3rd floor, and we were never informed that the elevator was not operational and appeared to have been that way for quite some time. I'm certified disabled and the stairs were a bit too much for me. The second floor, floor boards were rickety and unleveled. Every time I would try to find a comfortable spot to walk, I would always jar my knee on the unleveled boards. The television language was in Spanish, and you were unable to change the language. We contacted the lobby and the gentleman that came didn't kniw how to do anything, he told us this would be a good time to work on our Spanish.
Management stated they would send maintenance up the next day. Needless to say that didn't happen. We chose a package that included breakfast and that was a joke they gave you a plate of food which was the thinnest slices of fruit that you could imagine off the breakfast list you could choose one thing so maybe pancakes or an egg something like that anything additional you had to pay for. Near the patio door there were little tiny bugs on the floor. Anything that was on the floor was invaded by these bugs. When we were packing to leave I was frantically shaking everything out because I was afraid of taking any bugs with me. There were so many things wrong or not to our liking that wr had to stop talking about it because we were here now abd we have to make the best of a bad situation. When we arrived home I took our luggage to the laundry room and washed everything that was dirty and dried everything that was clean, I didn't care if it wasn't supposed to go in the dryer. I must admit I was very disappointed in our stay as far as the location and the restaurant.

There is a fine line between Boutique and shabby and this hotel crossed that line a long time ago. How anyone could rate this hotel as an 8.6 is beyond me. It is a 2.6 at best. The elevators are out of order and appear to have been for a long time. This is a hotel that is four stories tall with a "rooftop" pool that you have to walk up four flights of steep and narrow steps to get to. Not to mention dragging your luggage up.

We pre-paid for an entire week and left after only one day. It was terrible. Everything is old and run down, which is probably why they took most of their pictures at night and which appear 10 years old. The two pools on the ground floor are essentially unusable. Not heated, ice cold, no where to sit by one and the other one is just a square box in the ground that has no stairs. It feels more like a tank than a pool. Jacuzzi is broken.

Bathrooms have towels that are one step above rags and nowhere in the shower to even set a bar of soap. Asked for extra towels and were told that with our rate we couldn't have any. Mold on the ceiling. Sign that says put all your used, gross toilet paper in the only wastebasket in the entire room. A safe that you could not get into except during scheduled hours that the front desk had to come open. Choice of no curtains (everyone across the way could see in) or total blackout curtains which made the room feel like a cave. And we paid for a "Deluxe" room.

Don't be fooled by the price. The place is a dump!

We booked this hotel after seeing several on the Internet (which we then verified on site) our room booked on Booking for double the price of the others present in the structure, so much so that a few days before Booking put other rooms on offer at half the price, still calling them "delux". "When I complained, I was told that ours was of a superior category!!!!! Oh well, we trust... the location of the hotel is excellent for everything, beaches 5 Avenida, Ado etc. the staff is delightful and always present, but you honestly couldn't look at the room, even though I was aware of having paid 660 euros for a week and not find me i. A 5 star, I didn't expect such a bad room, judge for yourself from the photos. The excellent reviews from Italian travelers made me suspect even more that the other rooms were at least visually decent. However the cleanliness is sufficient (but if I were the property that room with that kitchen (which wasn't even mentioned) you couldn't look at it!!!!!! The Wii fii only works in reception, in the common areas it doesn't work in the rooms even less! If you need it and you can't do without it, remember this! If you go there, take the room that costs the least, at least you will get what you pay for, because for 600-700 euros for a week you can find much much nicer solutions near the sea, especially condominiums!

This hotel is wonderful! I stayed Jan 2 to Jan 8, mostly by myself. An oasis in the middle of the busy city. 10 min walk to beach, ADO terminal and 5 minutes walk to 5th Avenue.
The pools are small, but they are clean, refreshing and beautifully landscaped
Staff is lovely, when I had to leave my stuff w desk for a pre planned room switch ( my daughter was arriving so I wanted a room w 2 beds) they were quick to ask if I had anything that needed to go in their refrigerator. Super kind
Hot cooked to order breakfast next door was wonderful. Later in day it becomes a tapas restaurant w delicious food. I ate there 3 nights
Rooftop pool w bar awesome. Kind friendly bartender made me delicious mojitos
Filtered water in lobby, refrigerator in room and in room control of air conditioning. Wonderful
500 feet from Walmart, easy to use Santander. ATM in Walmart. Next to cool town park.
This place is a gem!

The hotel offers a charming colonial atmosphere with thoughtful touches. It’s important to note that it’s not a 5-star all-inclusive resort, so manage your expectations accordingly. The location is fantastic—right in front of the lively Plaza 28 de Julio, surrounded by great spots for authentic Mexican food. It’s just a short walk to 5th Avenue, with small supermarkets nearby and Walmart and Aki a 10-minute walk away. The ADO bus station is just meters away, making it super convenient.

There are three lovely swimming pools, and I’m not sure why some reviews complain about them—they’re great, just remember this isn’t a resort. The downside is the breakfast: it’s repetitive (some variety in the fruits would be great—bananas and mangos are abundant locally!) and the staff could be more organized, as mistakes and forgotten items seem common.

Despite this, the overall experience was enjoyable, and I’d recommend it for its charm and excellent location.

I made a reservation through Expedia for 1 night and my reservation included free breakfast. I made the reservation because my flight was going to arrive late for my final destination so I decided to spend the night at playa del carmen, Upon arrival everything was going well until the receptionist told me that my breakfast wasn't included and if I wanted I could pay an extra fee for it. I showed him my reservation through Expedia where it showed that it was with breakfast included and he told me that it was a mistake from Expedia but that he was going to honor it. ( In a tone like he was doing me a favor)
In the morning when I went to the restaurant for breakfast and a cup of water, the water arrived after I asked 2 different waiters and after I had already finished my food and the water had a hair in it.
The room is fine and the hotel is very close to bars and restaurants.

Nice and clean hotel in Playa del Carmen, precisely 3 minutes walk from 5th avenida (the main street of Playa del Carmen and beaches). The rooms are equipped with everything you need and include air conditioning, a minibar, a wardrobe and in the bathroom there are shampoos,
shower gel, towels, hairdryers and even cotton buds and make-up remover pads. The rooms are clean and well maintained, with cleaning taking place every morning with a change of towels. There are 2 swimming pools on the ground floor, with also a small hot tub. On the attic there is another swimming pool and two hydromassages. Breakfast is served from 7 to 10 in the bar attached to the hotel; it is not a buffet but can be chosen from the menu and consists of three "courses": a fruit plate, a brioches, a main course (to be chosen from the menu) and a drink (American coffee, cappuccino, fruit juice, etc. etc.).

The strong point is the staff, who are very friendly and helpful; special mention for Corrado who is particularly attentive and skilled in satisfying customers' needs in terms of trips, tours, transfers and anything else that may be needed.

Let me answer my own question. Rooftop bar is closed for now. The rooftop pool is open and you can bring your own refreshments. Miss the great bartenders, but the view is still wonderful.
