I can’t say enough good things!!! The staff was amazing- HUGE shout out to Carlos, Jesus, And Mariam!!! Everyone was amazing! Every event at the pools and at night were a blast. The food was fantastic. The spa on the beach was relaxing and wonderful.
We stayed here over Christmas and New Year for our honeymoon. We had been recommended the El Dorado resorts by friends who said they really make an effort if you are celebrating a special occassion. The resort is beautiful and the restaurants are lovely. There was always sun beds available and even though the resort was nearly at full capacity it didn't feel like it. When it rained, nothing seemed to be open and the hotel hadn't planned any pre-planned alternatives. This made Christmas Eve/Day not the best experience. We felt it lacked organisation. Our disappointments were in the room standard, they were not 5*. They were damp and outdated. We told the resort prior to arriving and whilst we were there we were celebrating our honeymoon and we didn't receive any 'special' treatment for this - not even a happy honeymoon banner that others had on their doors. Make sure you see your concierge on arrival to book meal times or apparently you could book prior to arrival (we didn't know this!), if not you get stuck with really late dinner times - which didn't make sense as sometimes we would arrive to a restaurant for 8:30pm and there would only be 3 tables taken! Also be careful what they try to sell you, we were mis-sold the new years eve event (basically we thought you had to do this event if not there wouldn't be anything else to do!) being advised by our concierge that this would include a dinner, bottle of champagne and a seat. On the night it included a bottle of Champagne and a stall and no sit down meal. There was a buffet that everyone in the resort had access to and lots of guests from the resort who hadn't paid the $175 could easily access the event area. When we complained to reception they just said 'sorry'. We did enjoy our stay at the El Dorado Royale, but it was a shame we didn't get the full experience that we had anticipated.…
We went for a week at the end of January, it was a very nice resort. Only thing lacking was the new housekeeper didn't stock the fridge, we had to ask for water several times, and she took all the towels and did not replace them with clean ones. Also the shower did not drain and even with 2 calls to concierge it was never looked at. But overall we enjoyed everything, the resort was fantastic, especially liked the restaurant Italia.
We did the Jungle Rock Tour this morning. It was so much more than that. Started with a short bike ride through the property. Stops at the green house, the ranch and 3 different cenotes. We ended at the cenote that they host the mayan weddings. They had some cultural information including authentic snacks and beverages. It was really awesome! A must do if you are here on Sunday morning. Thank you Laly, Fernando and all the folks that helped make this an awesome experience.
Henry and his colleague Wilberth at La Isla are amazing and took very good care of us. This was our favorite food on the property and is really nice authentic Mexican cuisine. If you come on Sunday, there is a beautiful fish market with fresh ceviches and a taco station. Breakfast here is amazing too.
We stayed at El Dorado in Riviera Maya at the beginning of January and it was the nicest vacation we have had so far!! The place was beautiful and the service was amazing! Our butlers Miriam and Claudio were beyond incredible! Our room was spotless and always stocked with drinks and towels and whatever else we needed! The beach was kept perfect and our server Paty was adorable and amazing! Our butlers went above and beyond to make our stay comfy and beautiful! There was an on site physician that we needed late one night and our butler called him and arranged for us to see him quickly!! I can’t express our gratitude enough for these amazing people! We can’t wait to go back and see them!!!
Went to LA Isla restaurant for lunch and our waiter went above and beyond. Luis was great! We never had to ask for a thing and he even brought us dessert without asking and it was the best by far at this resort! Thanks Luis!
Six weeks before we went we decided we needed a January getaway and booked 5 nights at the Casitas. This was our 3rd trip here and definitely won't be our last. As soon as we pulled up and got out of the car I immediately spotted Macaroni. He came right over to assist us with our bags and took us over to the Casitas check-in after we grabbed a drink to go from the lobby bar (BEST chocolate martinis!!) While we were checking in he got each of us a glass of champagne and then took us to our room after check-in. The whole week we were there he made sure we had everything we needed. On the last morning he picked us up early before our checkout time and took us up to hopefully see the monkeys. Much to our surprise we saw them! It was such a cool experience and one we will never forget!! He really made us feel like VIPs the entire vacation and we can't wait to see him next time! The first year we went we were in a beachfront casita (2601), last year a beachfront (2717) and this year we were in one of the casita buildings (2712). Honestly, the view from 2712 was better than 2717. For the money we saved we would definitely stay in one of the buildings again. The only thing about that is there is no guarantee you will get a ground floor room. (I really wish they would add the option to guarantee this even if it was a higher rate). This was a 5 night trip and we literally spent 4 full days at our Casita pool in block 27. Juan was the pool bartender the first day and he remembered us from last year and it was fun catching up with him. The other days we had Jovany and it was nice visiting with him and he helped teach us some Spanish. The last full day at the pool some younger couples were there as well and we all had a great time with Jovany. Lots of laughter and just a GREAT time! The first night we were there we ate at Jade and JJ was our waiter. He is simply amazing as well!! Later we remembered we had him as a waiter the previous year at Haab. We really enjoyed every meal and ordered room service a couple of the days for lunch because we didn't want to miss our pool time. The room service was really good this time as well! The only real disappointment was that the fruit must not be in season in January. The two previous trips we went in April and ate a lot of fruit because it was so good. We had been looking forward to it again but this time it left a lot to be desired. The shows are great but we had already seen them the previous visits. We did see a new one, the Fire and Lights show on the beach and it was really cool. The weather was perfect that night as well. Hopefully they will get some new shows before out next visit. When we are at the resort we truly feel like it is our home away from home. Everyone is so nice and the property is just gorgeous! We can't wait to go back!…
As a foody at heart I cannot say enough good things about this experience. Chef, Sommelier, and service staff headed by Carlos were all above expectations. We did this experience twice on our visit and if they had a third menu I would have done it again. This is a must do for all those visiting this property.
Staying here for a week. Had to book all our dinner reservations through a personal concierge. When we arrived at our bookings for the last two nights, the restaurants were shut. We couldn’t find anywhere else to eat last night. Avoid. Will submit full post on return. .
