This place is very basic, but if you're used to staying in hostels it's pretty decent. It wasn't super clean, but it was acceptable. What it really has going for it is the location and the vibe. Right on the beach, super chill, lots of hammocks, a nice open kitchen, and right on 5th Ave, the main tourist strip. For...

This hostel, situated just meters from the beach, was prime location for shops and great restaurants. The facilities are clean and basic and the staff friendly. The hammocks under the palms provided much relief from the sun and the heat. If you are the kind of traveller who doesn't mind geckos and other crawlies this place ticks all the boxes.

I love this place!! Great staff! People from all over. I've read some of the "not so nice" reviews and if you're looking for a high end, luxury room, this is not the place. The room was very clean, was sufficient for all my daily needs. I read some reviews that said there was no hot water; the hot water...

I really enjoyed being 50 feet from the beach and the laid back atmosphere. I heard some people complain that it's not a five star hotel. If that's what you're looking for this place is not it. Popol Vuh is clean and the staff is friendly and takes care of you. I relied on them to get me great deals...

It is a humble place with friendly staff. It is true that it is not the fanciest but to be honest that is what makes it perfect. If you think that a resort is what mexico is about not your place. Thanks for giving a place that you could feel like home.

This place has one of the best locations in Playa Del Carmen. It is one block from the ADO bus station, a few steps to the beach, and right off the main avenue walking street in playa del Carmen. I came from Belize, and arrived really early in the morning, I was tired, but luckily they let me check in...

This "hostel" doesn't offer dorms, only private rooms. However, most of the rooms have 2 big beds so you can get the best deal by going with a couple friends or a family together. It has a very good, relaxing vibe. There are hammocks hung in the common area under the shade of palm trees in the sand. The common...

“Stayed here for years. Began as a good value, keeping in mind it IS a hostel. But each year cleanliness has gone down. No upgrades, except for price. No longer a value....just a dump that needs torn down & started anew. A shame too, as the property location is EXCELLENT.”
