My husband and I went there for our honeymoon. We stayed in the cabana Albatros, the whole 10 days we were in Tulum. We enjoyed our stay there so much for many reasons. The owner Jorge is so nice and friendly, his dog Lyka is aslo nice. The cabana we stayed in was comfortable, spacious and well kept by house...

My boyfriend and I started our 10-day Mexico trip with 3 nights in Tulum. We found Ixchel through luck and perseverance--every other place we looked at just wasn't right. Then at the end of the beach we found Ixchel: a quiet oasis on an unbelievable perfect stretch of beach. The room (Colibri) was spacious and comfortable, and Jorge was kind,...

Cabanas Ixtchel is a most place. We had a wonderful welcome from Jorge, his wife and Victor. We first stayed in Colibri, Which is in the middle of an eden-like garden. At the end of our tour through Yucatan, we came back because we loved it so much there. This time, we stayed in Gaviota, which has a direct view...

What an amazing property! The location is stunning. Tulum has become more developed in recent years and the central area is congested and noisy. Cabanas Ixchel still affords you the quiet relaxing experience. The Cabanas are adorable - clean, comfortable and quaint. The rooms are cleaned daily. Fresh water is provided free of charge. The bed was comfortable and a...

For the second year we had a great, relaxing vacation at Ixchel. From the moment you get there, Jorge and the rest are there to make sure you have everything you need. This is not a 5-star hotel but that's what makes it special. We stay in Gaviota which is right on the beach with windows all along the front...

I arrived at Cabanas Ixchel 3 hours prior to my check in time. However, they informed that I could have a wander down to the beach and they would prepare the room as soon as the current occupier checked out. I checked into the room (Cabaña Colibrí) shortly after. The room has recently been updated, the entrance and front corner...

If you want a resort with pools and restaurants then this is not your place. If you want solitude (we only heard the lapping of the waves on the beach), a beautiful beach, a spacious, but simple cabana and a well maintained property then this is for you. Although we arrived late on Christmas Eve, Victor and his wife were...

On the 9th of Dec 2011 I stayed on the beach in an other hotel. Went to see Ixchel and I was really taken by it's looks and location. Always good to have seen a place for next time! I read the review below, written in March, and I can tell you now that the 2 beachfront cabañas, the ones...

This Tulum beach spot is a mix of excellant features with a few problems that could be possibly solved some day. First the good: Cabanas Ixchel is on one of the best spots on the beach if you value beauty and privacy. It is very close to the Sian Kaan nature preserve so if you walk down the beach to...
