Totally misrepresented our planned week's stay over Xmas. We stayed one nite, most of hotel a construction zone. No bar or dining room on the beach as advertised. The dining are was near the road in an old shack, terrible food, service and zero ambiance. We left the next morning , talked to the manager but so, far they will...

Los Lirios is one of the hotels that you’ll find on the long stretch of white sand beaches, just south of the archeological site, known as the zona hotelera. Having staid only in this hotel it is hard to say how it compares to the other dozens of hotels but when you reach the reception the feeling isn’t too good:...

the beach is beautiful. the rooms are nice enough. you are in paradise after all. the smell coming out of the bathroom however, was horrible. Everyone at the hotel at the time complained of this and the hotel staff feigned surprise every time someone said something. I reported the smell, they said they hadn't heard of it before. I was...

This was the eighth and last hotel I stay in during a two week tour of Mexico. We were tired and in need of some rest after a long two weeks. This hotel took our breath away. White sand, turquoise sea, hammocks, white-washed houses, clean and large comfy rooms. All the houses I saw overlooked the sea, the bathrooms were...

Good location and large, if simple rooms. End of the positive comments. Almost no one speaks English. Restaurant food is inedible -- and there is a lot of fabulous food in Tulum, which makes Los Lirios even more shameful. No hot water in the afternoon -- every day, and in my friends' rooms as well -- and reception proclaims surprise...

Every hotel in Tulum is expensive, this seemed to be a bit more affordable...Los Lirios is one of a few with 24 hr electricity which was a plus. The hotel room was big and clean - the porch with hammock was great for relaxing between the beach and outings. The staff stayed out of our hair unless we needed them....

Here's the latest on Los Lirios. For those who don't know the Mayan Riviera and Tulum, its about 90 miles south of the airport at Cancun. The drive is fine, we suggest you rent a car instead of the shuttles or a taxi; the round trip by taxi is 70 to 100 bucks a person, shuttles are similar, you can...

We stayed at Los Lirios in February/March 2009 for 14 nights. The hotel was ok, although I would say it is over-priced. We were 3 persons who shared the double deluxe beach front room which was very roomy and a had very nice view of beach. It also had a hammock at the porch which was nice. However, there was...

My husband and I were married in Tulum in July 2008. It was difficult in Tulum to negotiate rooms for our family and friends who were coming for our destination wedding. Many hotels in Tulum ask that you book every room in the hotel, for a min of 5 nights and offer NO discount. It was very frustrating for us...
