Paradise could not be easier to find. A pleasant ride from the Cancun airport in a comfortable air conditioned bus followed by a short cab ride all for under $20. My wife was enchanted by the beach front hut look of the place. The staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. We walked on the beach, took naps...

Third time in two years here. The ocean view palapas are very comfortable, we stayed this year 4 nights in room Tun. Steps from the beach the wind blew all night for comfortable sleeping. Didn't need the mosquito net. Warm shower and spacious bathroom. Electric for lights and fans is from a windmill so the lights only work for a...

My family (wife and 3 yr old son) spent a great 4 days in a cabana at Retiro Maya. The owner is great, and helped us find a dr. for an ear infection. The room is definitely Spartan, but it's comfortable and the proximity to the beach and the beach bar (Mezcal Monk) can't be beat. Water pressure is minimal,...

nice location, but no security at night, No credit cards, disorganized front desk and snobby owner. The location is great in that it's close to the beach. We stayed in hut #8 one night for $180 which has a very nice view of the beach. We didn't have hot water which is not a big deal to us. We stayed...

A group of us stayed at Retiro Maya in Feb 2015. It's a very pretty place to stay, the cabanas have a thatched roof and it is next to the ocean. There's a nice little bar on the beach with usual tulum prices and great guacamole. The breakfast included is continental and the coffee is better than the weak coffee...

We had none of the problems other visitors said they had - it's not a "grand luxe" hotel and it's somewhat pricey, but not compared to the other hotels in the area. It is very private and quiet. The room we had was simple, but clean. The staff was very helpful whenever we encountered a problem. We never had any...

Overpriced ,skimpy breakfast and keep my ID why I don't know since they had my AMX on file then lost my Arizona licence in a small office in only 4 days. Then when I called for arrangement to pick up they told my they were not my babysitter, come pick up and upon arrival it was said to be lost....

We booked a ocean front room, which is spectacular, just steps away from the most stunning beach. But that's as good as it gets! The rooms are not cleaned properly and are very close together - our bathroom was attached to someone else main bedroom, so there isn't much privacy. They only open at 9am for breakfast, which is really...

We didn't stay at hotel but had a great time at the beach and the beach front bar. Bartender was really laid back, made excellent drinks and was quite entertaining. Drinks were huge and prices very reasonable. Order the piña colada and tip well because he makes it with fresh pineapple.

The least you can say is that I was not impressed! For $250/night, I was expecting a nice comfy hut, and after travelling a little rough, I had decided to indulge a bit in Tulum to get some rest.... Well, it didn't quite work like that. The main issue was that the hot water wasn't working. According to them, that...
