We did a joint bachelor and bachelorette party here. It was incredible. The ladies stayed in casa palapa which was literally kardashian amazing!!!!! Pools on every floor. Gorgeous rooms and decor. So clean with people helping us at every turn. Sol and Alejandro were in charge of taking care of us - they were incredible. Anything we wanted they provided!!!...

Avoid this hotel at all costs. We stayed here for 4 nights and it was 4 nights too many. First off, there is no where to put any of your clothing. The closet is super small with 4 hangers, no hooks to hang anything, one super small mirror in the dimly lit bathroom, no chair to sit on(and you can't...

I've read some of Gen reviews here that say this hotel is fantastic, and think they must have been staying somewhere else not Papaya Playa Project. First of all, what everyone needs to know and I only found out after checking in is that this hotel is being refurbished kinda as they go. So some rooms like the cheaper rooms...

My husband and I have been going to papaya for quite some time now. It is the perfect getaway if you want something relaxing but also with a great vibe. The atmosphere is always amazing and the service is great wether you're a guest staying or simply there for their beautiful beach club. We have to give a special thanks...

We went to Playa Papaya for the weekly party on the Saturday night. It was a full moon party so bigger than usual apparently. Got there about 11pm, Paid USD 30 each to enter, was getting busy at this time. Was ok, just thought the music was a bit average (70s at the time, but I expect it got better...

So before I begin I have to say the beach is so amazing... you almost can't get better in Tulum We rented a jungle room which in retrospect we should have upgraded right away. We decided on a beach view room which was super cute. The process to get this room was not easy. The front desk was very busy...

Talk about hustle, thee guys delivered top notch service to a very demanding crowd on the beach. Everyone was really lovely but we especially loved our beach time with Christian and his team, he, Isaiah and the others are the primary reason for the 4 star-rating. Pros - I stayed in an ocean front room that was really lovely, exactly...

I came to the Papaya Playa Project's Beach Club with my partner maybe 4 times during our 6 day vacation in Tulum. We had a BNB in town so PPP was our beach spot. Parking was super easy on the street (I think parking inside was for hotel guests). Beer and cocktails were very good and affordable, and tacos and...

We went to playa papaya at the recommendation of my sister who had been there a couple months before. We went in the evening to "hang out" at the beach and enjoy a drink or two. The place itself is pretty awesome. It has a lot of space, the lighting is perfect and the seats which are more like cozy...

This hotel is one of the most modern and luxury hotels I have every seen. I love an architecture of this hotel. Every place, every path and every room is different. I have to say that my favorite place was restaurant/bar where is delicious food and you have an amazing view on the sea. :) And after that it was...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Introducing, PAPAYA PLAYA PROJECT , A MEMBER OF DESIGN HOTELS™ PROJECT a true sustainable project in Tulum. Having sought far and wide for a place to create an authentic, nurturing experience, the 900 meter stretch of oceanfront paradise cocooned on the Caribbean coast of the Mayan Riviera was the perfect spot. Together with the owners of of the existing Papaya Playa beach resort, Design Hotels™ is initiating the ultimate pop-up camp. Claus Sendlinger explains: “Our idea was to create a transitory, yet deeply culturally-rooted experience and we couldn’t have dreamed up a better place to make this happen. Capitalizing on the natural environment and multicultural character of Tulum, we quickly put together an international team of real visionaries, each enriching the experience with their own food, music, design or wellness concept. The enthusiasm and creative energy of everyone involved enabled us to renovate the camp and put together a holistic program within a very short period of time.” So come December, the authentic-pleasure seekers have a new raw-luxe camp they can sink and rub their feet into. Eighty-five cabanas have been renovated by the Design Hotels™ creative team. Integrating local materials and building techniques, they encourage its residents to soak in the warmth of the elements, both physically and mentally. The separation between man and nature diminishes in these rustic spaces while the perception of small indulgences – like high thread count sheets, flowing mosquito nets and thick towels – is heightened. The ultimate luxury in most of the cabanas, is the private porch, where hammocks gently swing guests into sync with Tulum’s laid-back rhythm. ... more   less
