Posada Lamar is a quiet, secluded, small property featuring only a few rooms. This is such a nice welcome from some of the larger, scenier spots on Tulum. Some very minor investments would make this place more of a gem: 1. valet parking (the tiny lot means that there isn't enough room for all cars to enter and exit. If...

We stayed here for 3 nights in September and had a great time. Rooms were very tastefully appointed and breakfast was good, with lots of fresh seasonal fruits. The entire property was well maintained and clean. Ioana was very helpful, gave us excellent recommendations for restaurants. Property is right next to the ocean and somewhat private. Restaurants are just walking...

My wife and I visited Tulum over two years ago, staying for two weeks at three different places, each one unique and beautiful in its own way. We stayed at Posada Lamar during the middle of our trip and absolutely loved every moment. The cabana was simple, imaginatively built and simply perfect for us. Private but also open: on the...

We went at Posada Lamar at end of July and we had the best vacation thanks to Posada Lamar! The location of the hotel is amazing! We stayed at the Esmeralda room which is exactly in front the ocean, with breathless view! It was clean and the staff was very helpful and polite! The breakfast was tropical and we also...

Stayed there for 3 nights (160€ per night). We knew about the electricity but it was not an issue as we spent our day on the beach. Positive : location : right on the beach, free bikes that you can take all day long (even if they are a bit rusty), lady a the front desk was very helpful and...

The only positive aspect here... location. The owners do not show pride on the hotel and service is weak and not polite. Light only a few hours of the day, so be ready to be on total darkness from 5am and if you have the last rooms on the resort. Not as clean as expected. We moved to a diferent...

My husband and I stayed in Esmerelda for 10 blissful days. The location is on a great stretch of beach with restaurants, drinks and amenities in walking distance but isolated enough that you can relax. Yes, you need to make peace without the conveniences of a typical hotel but this is easy when you are enjoying the beauty of this...

Posada La Mar’s strength is its location on a gorgeous white sand beach, but they do have a ways to go to upkeep the property. Our ocean front cabana Zafiro was beautiful with lovely views down the beach. However there is no soap, shampoo or conditioner in the shower. Towels are plentiful! The rooms are cleaned after lunch only. Breakfast...

I stayed in bungalow Marfil for 3 nights. For those of you who ever stayed on a kibbutz, or went to summer camp, this is Tulum's equivalent. Not the Ritz, not for people who like to stay at the Ritz. The linens and floors were clean. The shower is in an open space with a toilet, and if you wear...

My husband and I stayed in Marfil for 4 nights and enjoyed the wonderful beachfront views, breezes, yummy breakfasts, and super nice staff. The staff do a great job of maintaining the beach, paths, and flora. It is convenient to the beach road attractions, beach bars, as well as a short ride into town. Comfy bed and an open concept...
