We came to this place after narrowly escaping the trash heap that is Cancun. I mean, we came to cliff jump cenotes and summit ancient pyramids, so we had no interest in Cancun anyway, however, after flying all night we rented a room in abyssal trench that is Cancun. We dropped $75USD and thought we'd get a decent room, but...

The El Paraiso hotel is definitely worth considering -- don't let the lower Tripadvisor rating fool you! Its not as fancy or trendy or hip as some of the other beach lodging in Tulum, but what it lacks in that regard it more than makes up for in many other ways. - There are only 9 units, and while they...

The hotel is 3 stars at best despite clean room, comfortable bed, but not much of a view and the breakfast is very lousy but the location is excellent as you are 100 meters away from a nice beach called Playa Paraiso and 5 minute drive from the Tulum archeological site. So for a couple of days it is a...

Everything was great: the hotel managers, housekeeping, and security staff were exceptionally nice and helpful. The room was immaculate and beds comfortable. There was also a nice breakfast included that you can eat on a little terrace that is in front of each room. The only things I did not really like was having to wear a bracelet whiile we...

The rooms and location is ideal. A wonderful beautiful beach each year we return. All of the Riviera Maya is experiencing an invasion of seaweed that ruins enjoying the beach. The staff is very personal and helpful. We will return again.

We spent our days lazing on the beach which like the name of the hotel is paradise. The staff are really attentive and really care about their guests. The beach has a little beach bar which Is lower down which resembles a low key blue parrot bar really stunning and does the best mojitos. I would recommend this resort of...

We were looking for quiet. A beautiful beach, A quaint town. We found two of the three Tulum is not quaint, it straddles the highway, but think 1970's in Baja. El Paraiso sits on a beautiful stretch of beach. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are comfortable, clean and air conditioned. There is satellite TV with HBO. There...

First off, the location of El Paraiso Tulum is wonderful. We walked exactly 12 minutes (at a slow pace) to the side ( or is it back) entrance to the Tulum ruins. Also, if you walk down the beach a few minutes you can see some of the ruins right off of the beach/water ( you can't walk all the...

My boyfriend and I just got back from a week in Tulum - we have been there before together as well as separately and between us have stayed in several properties along the beach. We booked at El Paraiso after learning that our previously booked hotel was sitting next to a noisy construction project (thank you Tripadvisor reviewers!). I had...

The cash driver is the beach club, the rooms [10 only] are an add on. Rooms small but clean and comfortable with nice veranda but overlooking car park. Daunting list of rules and extra cost which is off-putting. Superb beach and sea. Do not bother with their bikes, they must be 15+ years old, never maintained. Better bikes available elsewhere....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
"Paradise is like exactly where you are right now…only much, much better" Laurie Anderson At El Paraiso Hotel we take great pride in the untouched nature of Tulum. We have therefore created a small hotel in harmony with nature without waiving the comfort of modern living. Our vast pristine white sandy beach and the calm crystal-clear waters invite to stress free beach days, water activities and romantic walks along the shore line. Cool off with a refreshing young coconut picked from one of our innumerable palm trees, take up diving or kite surfing, or just be, and let all your worries disappear while you relax in the shade of an umbrella.Explore the natural wonders and archeological sites of Tulum. One of the best preserved Mayan ruin is just around the corner from El Paraiso Hotel. The ruins set at the top of lime stone cliffs overlooking the waters offer visitors spectacular views. The Sian Kaan Biosphere, cenotes and caves hidden deep within the jungle, as well as national parks can all be found within short distance from our hotel. Add to this the second largest Reef in the world just off shore and the abundant marine life of the Caribbean, which has made Tulum and important and extraordinary location for all types of water sports. After a day at the beach or discovering the surrounding areas, El Paraiso Hotel is a place to relax, unwind and disconnect from the busy days of the normal life. Pamper yourself to a massage from our Spa services right on the beach with the waves of the ocean as the only sound, or revive the ancient Mayan tradition of worshipping the sunset joining us in our sunset yoga on the beach. ... more   less
