We learned very quicly how carzy-overpriced Tulum is if you want to sleep on the beach. I think people need to be aware that we got our room for 90 bucks during low-season and this is an awesome deal if you don't want to share your toilet with the rest of the guests. The room was fine, but we weren't...

We hadn't planned to be in Tulum so hadn't booked and only places left were even more expensive. The beach is nice but during the day crowded with people for the day, and deafening music. Room poorly maintained, but clean, in a cheerless concrete block. At US$130 it was very poor value but then that seems to be the case...

Have not stayed in the hotel but recent renovations obvious. Still pretty rustic. Among the most beautiful beaches you are likely to find anywhere. We stay at Dreams Tulum and spend our days here. Sand is nearly the color and consistency of flour or sugar. The water is exactly how it looks in the pictures, just beautiful with a gently...

We stayed at Paraiso from Feb 27 thru March 3, after shopping around the entire area, and actually staying at another place for a night. I highly recommend it for all the following reasons: 1- set on the most beautiful beach in all of Tulum 2- set back far enough from the beach, restaurant and bar/club that we didn't hear...

My boyfriend and I visited Cabanas Paraiso from May 12th till May 15th. When we got in Tulum on the 12th, we didn't bother making reservations in advance, I figured that it would't be busy since it was low season...Well, I was wrong! After spending about an hour going from cabana to cabana in a taxi, everywhere was full. We...

Starting off on a positive note - the beach rocks! Although, thought it is ridiculous to pay for a chair on the beach if you are staying at their hotel... Room was filthy - dirty, holes in walls, bad smells, etc. Woke up one morning at 7am to construction on the room next door, water turned off all day. I...

We stayed at Zamas down the road and went to El Paraiso every day to sit on their beach. The beach is outstanding at Paraiso and the beach bar is also really nice...good food and drinks and moderate prices. They do charge you $2.50 a person to use their beach chairs, though. Although we didn't stay there, I did look...

Paraiso was dammaged by Wilma but is recovering very well. We were staying in Playa Del Carmen and went there for a day on the beach. It is a beautiful place. The beach is long and water shallow. We enjoyed drinks and a wonderful lunch. Can't speak of the state of the hotel rooms. But everything else was great. We...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
"Paradise is like exactly where you are right now…only much, much better" Laurie Anderson At El Paraiso Hotel we take great pride in the untouched nature of Tulum. We have therefore created a small hotel in harmony with nature without waiving the comfort of modern living. Our vast pristine white sandy beach and the calm crystal-clear waters invite to stress free beach days, water activities and romantic walks along the shore line. Cool off with a refreshing young coconut picked from one of our innumerable palm trees, take up diving or kite surfing, or just be, and let all your worries disappear while you relax in the shade of an umbrella.Explore the natural wonders and archeological sites of Tulum. One of the best preserved Mayan ruin is just around the corner from El Paraiso Hotel. The ruins set at the top of lime stone cliffs overlooking the waters offer visitors spectacular views. The Sian Kaan Biosphere, cenotes and caves hidden deep within the jungle, as well as national parks can all be found within short distance from our hotel. Add to this the second largest Reef in the world just off shore and the abundant marine life of the Caribbean, which has made Tulum and important and extraordinary location for all types of water sports. After a day at the beach or discovering the surrounding areas, El Paraiso Hotel is a place to relax, unwind and disconnect from the busy days of the normal life. Pamper yourself to a massage from our Spa services right on the beach with the waves of the ocean as the only sound, or revive the ancient Mayan tradition of worshipping the sunset joining us in our sunset yoga on the beach. ... more   less
