An 18th century coaching inn with rooms above for bed and breakfast. We are sat on the edge of Sandringham estate and only ten minutes to the beach. Good pub food sourced locally with a nice selection of real ales.

Detailed Reviews
We booked The Feathers for 6 of us at the last minute over the bank holiday weekend in August.
Really good food, especially the cod and chips and good service too, there's a wide range of beers on tap as well.
My only real criticism is that the restaurant and bar areas could do with a fresh lick of paint here and there, other than that, all good. :)

A thoroughly enjoyable three night stay at the Feathers. We were made very welcome by the owner, John, and his wife who insisted on carrying our cases up to our room! The double room was small but adequate, slightly dark as there was only one small window. The room was very clean and our towels were changed every day.
His wife seems to prepare all the food. The breakfasts were excellent and our evening meal was top quality. There’s a wide-ranging menu.
We were able to use the large beer garden as the weather was warm there’s a very large car park.
Overall, excellent value for money in a very comfortable but unpretentious hotel. Would definitely go again.

We stopped here for late afternoon lunch after being in Sandringham all morning. Been here several times many years ago and oh has it changed! Found seating outside and went to the bar to order drinks and food which was easy and the young girl was polite and pleasant. Whilst sitting outside the garden seem to have a lot of wasps around so we decided to go inside as we had two small children with us. I approached the bar and asked the young girl if the room along the corridor was the restaurant and asked if we could sit in there. Next minute Happy Jack the ignorant owner chirped up saying theres plenty of seating elsewhere and chuntered something under is breath. I did answer him back and he seemed to disappear pretty quickly and wasn’t seen again whilst we where in there. Food was nice, place wants a good clean and tables throughly cleaning outside to avoid the stickiness/ wasps.

After 30 years apart three of us who had grown up together and later rode motorcycles heard that our mate who now lives in the area has got the big C so decided to meet him here. None of us had prior knowledge of this establishment so we did not know what to expect on arrival. What we immediately found was that there was ample free parking spaces. Although that maybe different when the better seasons arrive given they have a nice outdoor area. When we entered to book in the owner gave us a warm welcome and his assistant Joe showed us to our rooms.Another friendly person.
The room that was allocated to me was clearly a double so as a single person I had more than enough room. But that said it was of an adequate size for two as well.
The Tea / coffee facilities were more than adequate as they was plenty of milk & sugar and it was complemented by having several bottles of water too.
Fresh towels with various bottles of shampoo etc were also supplied. Both in the evening and morning there was constant hot water and the shower maintained a constant heat whilst showering.
As for the bed it was very comfortable with more than enough pillows.
Prior to sitting down for our meal, we had some drinks in the bar with our mate and his wife and the ambience was just amazing.
Clearly many of the others in the bar wee locals and they had brought their children with them but they in no way deminished the atmosphere by running around be rather enhanced it.Hence my title as it was just like sitting in your own living room. We all said that we're glad the days we experienced as kids of sitting in the car outside with a bag of crisps and lemonade whilst our parents had a jolly up in the pub are long gone.
Four of us had ham egg & chips and another had a steak & kidney pudding followed by several desserts. We all enjoyed both courses and unusually for me I had to leave some food on the plate as there was too much for me to eat.The cost of each meal was very reasonable and all of the staff who served us were friendly and helpful.
In the morning we had breakfast and there was more than enough choice and again having ordered a Full English I found myself struggling to eat it all because of the amount that I had been given.
Given all of this I have no problems with recommending this establishment to all those that are visiting the area.I dont doubt as our mate goes through his treatment we will be back in the area to support him and I know where we will be saying.
Thanks to everyone for making this such a great experience

Liked · The only saving grace was the food and the pleasant lady that cooked and served it.
Disliked · We requested when booking, a while before our visit, a quiet room and were shown to a room overlooking the main road and no double glazing. When we asked to be moved to a quieter room we were told that was all that was available. To make matters worse it was situated above the bar and on Friday evening we were disturbed until 00.27 The en-suite needed a complete refit. It was so bad that we felt unable to use the shower safely, as the temperature of the water went from hot to cold to scalding!! The toilet roll holder dropped off every time you took a piece of paper. The sink plug was no longer attached to the chain. The bed was uncomfortable, the pillows even worse! The carpet appeared dirty and threadbare. We felt that £90.00 per night was double what the true value was.

We stayed here for 1 night, but after our stay wished we had booked to stay longer. Our 3rd B&B on our staycation and by far the best. Owner and all of his staff just so friendly and welcoming. Such a quaint, interesting place. Had an evening meal which was the best meal we had all week with excellent food and wine and very reasonably priced. Room was nice. Lovely toiletries and a great tea tray with selection of milk and biscuits. A lovely touch is there was a bottle of still and a bottle of sparkling water left. Only thing I would say which was not great was the shower. A bit complicated to get right and it was still a bit hot but we managed. The breakfast was 1st class - the selection of cereals, yoghurts, jams etc was such you would see in a hotel and laid out beautifully. Fabulous coffee which the server just kept refilling. Full English was excellent, good quality sausage, there was a choice of eggs. The shower thing was forgivable as everything else was perfect. Will definitely return here and would definitely recommend

first impressions count - bars covered with dirty glasses and tables left uncleared of dirty plates are not the best. They seem to have trouble getting staff and as a result they offer a poor service. Food was ok when we got it

Not been here for many years . There was a warm welcome , great choice of beers which are kept well . The food menu has been well thought out with some different varieties which makes them stand out from the crowd .
The food is well priced and well executed and will definitely be returning at the earliest opportunity .
It is a pleasure to visit an establishment where the current owners care about maintenance and decorative order of an old and beautiful building .

We ate in the pub on 2 evenings and could not fault anything, the food came out very quickly and tasted superb. The host who believe may be the owner was wonderful and made time to have a chat with us and name us feel very comfortable, he even remembered our drinks order on our second visit.
We would not hesitate to visit again excellent establishment

John and his crew could not be more helpful. Breakfast is wide ranging, ample, wholesome, tasty and the cooked breakfast is served piping hot. All tastes and combinations catered for. Evening meals offer a wide range of dishes all of which are excellently prepared.
The bar is comfortable and well stocked while the beer garden provides a huge outdoor space with numerous picnic tables scattered around. For the little ones there is massive play area adjoining the beer garden. There are a variety of rooms, including comfortable doubles and roomy family rooms and even a separate apartment.
We've been lucky enough to spend a weekend here on three occasions recently and we have never been disappointed.

The toilet is not wheelchair accessible.
I'm not sure but as I work in a similar establishment I would always recommend booking. Especially in high season at least that way you know you've got a table
Don't know about times but you could get that from their website. I would recommend booking as it seems to be a very popular place and was very busy when we were there. Better safe than sorry.
If it's a nice sunny day it would be a good idea to book as its busy at weekends with families sitting in the garden (while they still can!). Under new management and improving all the time.
