This is a nice place to stay staff is friendly and rooms were clean!! Biggest issue I had was no hot water for showers!! For the price we payed one would expect a hot shower!! Would I stay there again probably not!
I stayed here for 4 nights for a business trip. Do not stay here if you are expecting a “Hotel”, stay here if you are expecting a Lodge. I was not expecting a hotel so I was not disappointed. THE ROOMS There are 6 chalets with 6 rooms in each. Each one has a shared kitchen, living room and two shared bathrooms; keyword here is SHARED. Luckily due to COVID I had the entire chalet to myself so it was great. If you had to share the chalet with random people it would be extremely unpleasant however. THE FOOD The food was really good. I bought the “contractor package” that included a breakfast delivered to my cabin as well as a bagged lunch for the next day. The restaurant closes really early so you need to order your dinner for the day and they will leave it in your fridge..don’t get fries, they don’t microwave well lol. THE SERVICE Everyone I dealt with were very nice and we’re glad to accommodate any requests. The chalet was clean for the most part except for the ridiculous amount of house flies both dead and alive..this was mentioned in another review and I thought it was an exaggeration but it was not! However keep in mind, this place is in the middle of the woods so pests should be expected. My room was never cleaned during my stay nor were my towels refreshed or my garbage changed but I assume that’s all due to COVID so no harm no foul there I guess. THE BED Personally for me, the most important part. It was fantastic. Classic “hotel” pillows and linens. …
This was my first visit to Elk Lake Eco center but I was very happy. The property is beautiful and they have canoes and bikes that you can use for free. We also used the hot tub and they had materials to make your own fire. There was no one to greet us but they did call and told us where they left the keys. The only thing I can complain about is that there is a coffee maker and coffee in the cabins but it was not emptied since the last guest and had gone moldy. Otherwise a lovely experience, will return!
The team at the Elk Lake Eco Resource Centre are super helpful and friendly. The cabins are well appointed and comfortable. While the journey to get there is a little long being 1.5 hours north or North Bay, Ontario it is definitely worth it when you arrive. Plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy as well as a welcoming group fire pit for evening visiting. If you are the mood for additional relaxation the hot tub and sauna facilities are readily available. Check out this hidden gem if you are in the area.
Spent 3 days at this resort for the wedding of our son. The resort was well prepared for our arrival. The accommodations were fabulous, nice cabins. The staff that we had for the weekend were fabulous, attending to all our needs. The meal were well prepared, very tasty and good variety. Just a great venue for this celebration 🎉. Would like to try this resort during the summer. A definite recommend
