Detailed Reviews
If you;re travelling to Cape Town, and you want something just that little bit out of the ordinary in a fabulous location, you couldn't choose better than this beautiful cob house close to the beach. It's owners built it with their own hands and it's love made manifest! Great breakfast, all organic so you can eat well without compromising your wellbeing. All in all, go and try it. It's a perfect little love nest for tow or a perfect home from home for the family. Enjoy!!!

In just a few words, my boyfriend and I found this unique place: very charming, with the most comfortable bed (not to be neglected!), a cozy atmosphere,a delicious breakfast. The beach is 5 minutes walk and the temperature allows you to swim (unlike the other side of Cape Town).
Thanks to Simric and Carey for a great concept!
We definately recommend this place.

The cob house is a great place to stay! My son named it 'the Eco place' and said only I could have found a place with no television! I chose this B&B because I lived in a Cob house in Devon as a child. I loved the decoration and the fact that everything was environmentally friendly and unique. The breakfast was delicious and Smric, the girls and the dogs were delightful. We also loved the little bunny rabbits! Great location - near the beach and good for touring Cape Point.
I do hope to return one day!

I loved the location of this house in the very relaxed and progressist area of Muizenberg. The service is satisfactory and the owners are very sweet. I had much more expectations on the breakfast which is used to be quite experimental in such "organic or ecological" guesthouses but not here. It was just basic and simple without interesting surprises. The room on the upper floor was cozy but it would have been much more lively with a direct internal connection with the house. Please do something more to make the staying an experience and not just an overnight on an ecological house.

Simric stayed up to welcome me after my night arrival. The hosts provided breakfast at the time I requested both days. The family also has a friendly dog who enjoys being petted. Walking distance to beach and train station. Recommended for Muizenberg.

We had a great time staying at the Samhitakasha Cob House. The owners were friendly and gave us good advice. Our favorite part, though was the breakfast, which was delicious. It's location is good, within walking distance of the beach. It's accessible to both capetown and Cape Point.

Wow, what a wonderful learning experience to all of us. We had a wonderful stay and was spoiled with a lovely breakfast. We enjoyed walking to the neighboring towns. Such an unique building with character and comfort. We appreciated the energy and vibe as portrayed through the photos of the process and experienced by the great service from the hosts. A real break from the business of every day life.

Having no desire to stay in a big city, I was looking for a place away from Cape Town and an easy drive to Simon's Town. I stumbled across The Cob House online and it sounded like a great place to stay since we are trying to live more organically and eco-friendly. Love that the owners, Simric and Carey, have provided a warm place to stay for like-minded people. The guest room is very large and can accommodate up to 4 people. It is comfortable and very pretty with the clay walls and the beautiful arched wood ceiling. The food is organic and local and very good. The room has its own secure entrance and a carport. The owners are eager to share information and tips about the area to make your stay more interesting. They were very accommodating about our arrival late at night and our very early breakfasts when needed. The only suggestion for improvement that I would have is that the bathroom is separated from the sleeping area by a curtain that does not adequately cover the doorway. As my husband and I were staying there with a friend, it was a bit uncomfortable to use the restroom with a definite lack of privacy. I did recommend to them to replace the curtain with an actual door. All in all, a very comfortable stay and I would definitely recommend staying at the Cob House to anyone visiting the False Bay area.

Very spacious and comfortable room with own entrance and secure car port underneath the room.Helpful host who brings breakfast to the room dining table each morning.A few minutes walk to Muizenburg's very long and attractive beach together with a delightful coastal path to Kalk Bay with sea swimming pools and good restaurants. You can walk round Muizenburg in the evening although there is only a limited range of restaurants open. The best place is the Friday night community event at the Blue Bird Garage with great food stalls and drinks. It is easy to drive down the Cape peninsula or into Cape Town. The Cob House is a great place to stay and gives a very different experience of South Africa than staying in a city hotel.
