Misaw Lake is located on the northeast border of Saskatchewan offering some of the most untouched fly-in pike fishing in Canada. Northern pike, Arctic grayling, and lake trout abound in these cold waters. We also offer 16 exclusive fly-out lakes and rivers in the surrounding area. Misaw Lake Lodge is a smaller lodge situated on the picturesque shore of Misaw Lake. Our guides are well requested and exceptional at their craft. Our staff are eager to make your stay comfortable and your experience a joy to remember for years to come. The typical season runs from mid-June through August.
This was by far the best fly in fishing experience we have ever had. Misaw Lake Lodge exceeded all of our expectations.
We found that the web site represented exactly the experiences we that we would have as guests at Misaw Lake Lodge.
I thought they would show just trophy size fish that perhaps a few very successful anglers caught. Turned out remarkably, that catching the size(s) of fish represented on the web site is really quite common! My one 43” pike was an all time record on fly in Lake Bonokoski. Flying into a second lake was so much fun and worth every penny.
Most of the Northern Pike were over 32”.
On the 2nd fly in lake, in this one location, we caught pike on almost every cast for 45 minutes. The guide could not keep up. We called it a conveyor belt pike.
The Staff is warm, friendly, hospitable, and kind. They treated my wife and I like family.
Everything was Impeccably clean.
Our guide was phenomenal, fish wise. Perhaps, more importantly, we could see he cared about us and our experience at Misaw Lake Lodge.
The lodge and cabins were beautiful and cozy. We used their St. Croix rods and our lures.
Bring a little flashlight or two. (Keep one in bathroom). The camp generator shuts down ~ 10pm. Bring layers of clothing.
Looking forward to returning to Misaw Lake Lodge.

A "first timer" at Misaw Lake Lodge and it was fantastic. Being the first group to open up the season, we figured there would be some action and action is what we received. This trip was business/entertainment/friends, that allowed us all some time to enjoy each other, fishing, nature and this awesome resort! would highly recommend. Accommodations great. Staff attentive and fun. Guides got you onto some fish and impressed us with shore lunch. Three "Masters" this trip....I'll be back!!

I recently returned from another memorable fishing trip at Misaw Lake Lodge in Saskatchewan near the NW Territories. Very nice, comfortable lodge, very good meals, clean modern cabins, EXCELLENT pike, lake trout and grayling fishing, daily fly outs to remote lakes, shore lunches. And the staff and guides are outstanding - genuinely very friendly and accommodating! I much prefer a small group lodge vs: 40, 50 or more guests, and this one is absolutely the best I’ve been to. I can’t say enough good about it, and I’ve made my 2024 reservation!

Folks from the ones who answer the phone, to the lodge staff, to the guides are all so darned friendly that one hates to mention anything untoward. Also, the fishing was OK. That said, my sense is that the lodge isn’t quite ready for prime time. The cabin — rustic is fine, dirty isn’t. We paid to rent fishing gear. The first day, we were handed a tackle box and it wasn’t till we were on the lake that we discovered it was empty. Fortunately, the guide had some lures. On the way up, directions were to meet in the hotel lobby at 4:50 for a 5:00 departure to the airstrip and a 6:00 flight. All of that schedule was met. It’s just that the ride from the hotel to the airstrip was 10 min. Then we cooled our heels for 50 min. Don’t know about you but at 4:00 in the morning, another 30 min of sleep would be valuable. Those are just a few of the quibbles, but you get the idea. Seems to me that the management just needs to be tightened up a bit.

First off, thank you for the feedback! We carefully review all of the feedback we receive each season and put together a list of improvements to be implemented in the coming season; there are already many upgrades planned for the 2020 season that will enhance the overall experience at Misaw Lake Lodge. There is no excuse for a dirty cabin, and we apologize if you experienced this. The cabins are thoroughly cleaned before the start of each season, and are cleaned on a daily basis when guests are in camp. In addition, we sincerely apologize for the tackle box issue – we’ll ensure that every single tackle box is checked and fully stocked before each rental period, as that is a part of our standard protocol. We have really tightened up our flight schedule these past couple of years and it is a rare occurrence when guests have to wait around too long for takeoff, however, there is the odd occasion when unforeseen circumstances occur. Thank you again for the feedback. We are continuing to enhance and tighten up the experience at Misaw Lodge and we’re confident guests returning in 2020 will really appreciate the upgrades. We hope to have the opportunity to host you again and provide you with the 5-Star experience that is expected at all of our different lodge offerings.

Food was unbelievable and plentiful. Cabins and lodge were clean, spacious and comfortable. Guides, owners and service were great. Pike fishing was fun and several over 40" in our group. Lake trout fishing was incredible and our group caught over 70 in one day, almost all of which were over 30".

A quick word about us: we've been doing fly-in trips in Ontario for 12 years, and our group has gotten pretty spoiled by how we do things.
With that said, the trip to the lake was extremely smooth and well organized. A+ there. The lodge and cabins are very nice, well maintained, and clean. The staff are very kind and enthusiastic (a special shout out to Doug the guide; one member of our party has some mobility issues, and Doug went way beyond the call of duty to help him. Another shout out to Juanita, who served the meals; she was always so warm and pleasant). The lake is gorgeous, and the shore lunch operation is a well-oiled machine that was really fun to watch and absolutely delicious.
You should know that it is likely to be very cold and rainy. Take their suggestions about gear to pack seriously.
So, why not 5 stars? The biggest problem we had was with the fishing gear. We told them several times we'd be using their gear (a big reason we chose them was not having to pack our own stuff). We checked in, had a nice leisurely lunch, packed our coolers and headed to the boats. Our guides said, "where's your gear?" We said "you tell us." The didn't have any gear together, so we sat on the dock for an hour while they spooled reels and cobbled together rods. They didn't have enough leaders because they'd used them to repair the landing nets that were full of holes. One of our guys was fishing alone, got an hour down the lake, made his first cast, and his reel was totally non-functional. So an hour back to the lodge for another reel, and then an hour back to fish. His day was shot, and when you pay as much as this place costs, losing a day of fishing because no one is maintaining and checking the gear is unacceptable. All five members of our party had gear problems, and the other group there while we were there had problems too. One of their boat motors quit after lunch, and they lost a half day fishing.
The fishing was ok but not great. I know that can change week to week, but the problem I had was that guides just kept fishing the same spots every day. When we convinced them to try new spots, we caught fish. But I bet our group collectively fished "the river" for 40 hours, and caught a total of 5 fish there.
We have very high standards for food; the food was OK. Lots of it, thats for sure. Applebees quality. But, given their remote location, that's saying something. Again, we are spoiled, and I think most would think the food was very good.
So, will we be back? Unlikely. It's so much more money than what we are used to spending, and we've always caught more fish on our other trips (though we did get some pretty big pike)
I think with a little organization (having the fishing gear ready and operational) would have made a world of difference.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review. It was a pleasure hosting your group at the lodge and I am glad you found the trip to be well organized, and the staff kind and enthusiastic. We pride ourselves in our staff, and strive to provide excellence in cleanliness and service. This was our first year operating Misaw Lake Lodge and we were unaware of the condition of the fishing gear at the time of our arrival. We are updating all of the gear, and trust you will find it in great condition if you return. We appreciate your feedback regarding the gear and will make sure all future groups are better accommodated. Moving forward, now that this first year is under our belt, we hope to improve every aspect of our guest experiences. Ex. Food, accommodations, gear, etc. As I stated above, our main goal is to provide excellence in our service and your review helps us pursue that goal. Thank you for your time, we hope to see you in the future.

This was our third trip to Misaw and the first with the Kississing group as owners. We were the second group in this season and all went well. The staff was great. The guides were great. The fishing was great. Nothing we asked for went unanswered. We had a great time and have already booked for 2019. Perhaps we will see you there

The entire experience from start to finish was outstanding from the start to end of the trip. The lodge owners and the guides were friendly and accommodating, the cabins, lodge clean and comfortable, the food very plentiful and satisfying and the lakes provided an opportunity realized to catch 3 species of fish native to area. I reached the grand slam catching trophy Northern Pike, Lake Trout and Arctic Graying.

Very friendly staff Laura always had a smile on her face, the chef made very good meals, and the fishing was excellent. Recommend doing a fly out to one of the multiple lakes that can be fished. I think we caught 14 or 15 Northern pike over 40" in our group.
