Clean and new(ish), very friendly owners but this is not a hotel and not worth the money - no breakfast, no sheets/towels changed or the room cleaned and the wifi didn't work...even when we were given a second 'plug-in' internet connector. The Ikea bed (the one room cave we were given was a mixture of far too many heavy pieces...

Dear Cynogwen, thank you for spending your time to review Borgodioria Resort. I'm very sorry to read that you did not fully enjoyed your stay in an Albergo Diffuso. An internal investigation is now starting in order to understand what happened and actions will be taken. We do this every time we receive on Tripadvisor a score inferior to 4/5...

You really can enjoy the true Bella vita here, in a bellissima casa with a warm and helpful benvenuti from fabulous hosts Wanda and Francesco. The pictures do not do justice to our beautiful and spacious apartment, with its traditional architectural features and modern facilities. We felt at home, a gorgeous one. In fact, this trip we tempted some friends...

As with other stays on this particular trip, Borgo di Oria wasn't an expected stop. We had left Alberobello and were working our way toward Taranto (where we did NOT want to stay). One of our guide books listed BdO, so we headed in that direction. As the guide book said, we asked at the "Bar Kenya"; they provided us...

Dear Decodogs, Thank you for taking the time to write your review and for recommending Borgodioria Resort so highly. I'm really pleased that you found Wanda to be helpful: definitely she is a "plus" of our hotel. We really enjoyed our stay in surprising Oria. The ancient walled town has many delights in store, and Francesco was a very welcoming and informed host. Our room was comfortable, if small, and very well modernized, with a good bathroom. Breakfast in the nearby Kenya Bar was right on one of the main squares.

I visited Oria In October 2012 with a friend of mine. We stayed at the Borgodioria Resort. I can only describe the resort as 5* throughout the apartment we stopped in was spacious clean and catered for all our needs. I would highly recommend this resort to families and couples vising oria as it is as nice as it gets....

we stayed a week at Oria, which is hardly enough time to explore the city and its (wider) surroundings (a car seems an absolute necessity). Oria itself is a charming medieval hill-town place with an evocative old city centre (for the sporty-minded, we'd suggest running in the outskirts, however - but beware of the dogs). Culinary delights abound, but self-catering...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
if you are looking for a taste of rural Italy as yet unspoiled by tourists then Borgodioria resort offers the ideal location from which to explore the Puglia region of Southern Italy.Oria itself, between the provinces of Brindisi and Taranto along the ancient Appian way, is perched on a small fortified hilltop amidst a vast agricultural plain of olive trees and vineyards.Oria is a medieval town with the impressive castle of Frederick II of Swabia, a charming historical centre and a Jewish ghetto. It's tangled labyrinth of quaint, narrow streets are littered with ancient churches and palaces from a bygone era.Indeed, life in Oria's old town often leaves you feeling as though you have stepped back in time, such is it steeped in relics from it's historical past. The comfortable suites of Borgodioria Resort, all in the medieval centre, have been completely restored to keep the original architecture of the 14th century apulian houses. They are all equipped for self-catering with kitchen or kitchenette, all cooking facilities. All of them have air con, heating, lcd tv, satellite, dvd player, tea/coffee making facilities, hair dryer. The suites can host up to 4 guests, have a king-size bed, a double sofà bed in the living room and a fully-equipped bathroom with shower. The maxi suites can host up to 6 guests, have 2 king-size beds in separate rooms, a double sofà bed in the living room and two fully - equipped bathrooms with showers.Wonderful hospitality is always on the menu and Oria is famous for simple tasty dishes which will leave your taste buds zinging. For food lovers there is the added bonus of fantastic Primitivo wine, a gutsy full-bodied red on offer everywhere, and fresh mozzarella cheeses home made as you watch. ... more   less
