80$/night doesn't get you much these days haha! No heat in the room, not even a thermostat! Mildew in the tub, stained carpets, chipped paint, extension cords all over the place for power (some don't even work).

Our rental condo (Kim) fell through badly, and the bed and breakfast wouldn't take us because it was past 8pm and Bonnie had gone to bed so couldn't prepare the breakfast for us (?!) so our only other alternative was the local hotel unless we left town. Our room was first on the right at the top of the stairs. No sheet on the bed. Plugged in the portable oil heater but had to unplug it to make the coffee in the morning. Chinese managers were friendly but seemed very young and inexperienced.

Cons: The hotel is quite outdated and dingy, the mattress was not comfortable and the sheets were pilling and clearly needed to be replaced entirely. They did not provide spoons or stir sticks to stir the creamer powder and sugar in our coffee. One of the coffee packets was half opened by a previous guest (?) and not replaced. Pros: Nearby a small grocery store and some shops, and near the waterfront.

Great food! Super good. Best burger I have probably ever had, and the onion rings were awesome too! Poutine did NOT skimp on the gravy at all, wow! Super great. Waitress was a bit of a grump, maybe just a bad day. Really enjoyed the dinner still!

NOTE THERE ARE B&B in Port Alice. This was the only hotel in town and we reached late so we had to sleep for the night. The hotel was empty but but the front desk young man made so much fuss to accept out little dog, so as we were walking out he told us he would accept our dog, surprisingly he had a pet deposit form for us to fill out ... Looked like they do take pets after all..Anyways the rooms were just so basic with the cheapest mattress and flat pillows, sheets looked used ..and we were charged $126.00. We asked if there was complementary breakfast for $126.00 and the young man laughed and said no. The sink and bathtub was stained and looked dirty. I did not even want to take pictures. We could not wait for the morning .. To leave.
