Better for renters than owners. They keep on increasing the rates with no justification. Why are we in Parkland area paying the same rate as those in wylewood and quarry meadows. They got clubhouse we have none. Then they added another amount based on area. Again we pay more with getting less. Secondly all new activities was during the week. Is as if they are forcing to sell or rent. Being an owner feels like we are a hostage and they are holding our trailer for ransom. Once you buy they don't care
Great resort and a lot of fun for the family. All the amenities that are listed in the website are indeed true to form, in addition to some great new additions (massive blow-up platforms in the main lake area). Super fun and so much for old and young to do. Very large park however if you are not camping near the main slides area, you may want to plan ahead and rent a golf cart as we did, otherwise you will have no problem getting your steps in. Only issue we seen, and this is the same from this trip we just got back from, in addition to our visit last year, is that there seems to be a bit of special allowances given to the Seasonal renters vs week-long or weekend renters in regards to overall rules enforcement with aggressively loud music and the "policing" of speeding or reckless driving in golf carts. With regards to Music we stayed in the Quarry Ridge area and were fairly close to middle, and one of the seasonal's was blaring their music insanely loud. With quiet hours starting at 11 it was moderately turned down then, but the bass was still deep and present. This was a similar instance to last year where at 2am I had to call security who very reluctantly came down to 'Have a listen'. Also some of the driving abilities of the 18 year old seasonal' s are very aggressive (and well under the age limit of 18 to drive a golf cart there) and numerous times saw security drive right past them without batting an eye. Other than that it is a good place to visit and have fun.…
Worst experience I ever had! On arrival half the amenities were locked - no where to store clothes. Freezer was full and half the fridge full! On complaining , as I had no where to store my food. Owner got rude and asked if I wanted to leave and go elsewhere. It was pouring rain and last thing I wanted to do was re load the truck and move again. I tried my best to calm the conversation and move on. Mid week the neighbour approached me to warn me of cameras and voice recordings. I laughed it off thinking nothing of it, but she was right! On departure I had a bad feeling in my gut so I took many many photos and videos with time stamps. A few hours after leaving I began getting messages of “damaged items in the cottage”. I knew it was not true and informed the owner I had video proof etc and asked for proof off her cameras. She assured me they were not live during my stay. Later on in our back and forth she sent photos of my dog on her live camera recordings. 🤦♀️ Said she didn’t allow dogs, even though I confirmed my two pound chihuahua was welcome prior sending deposit in December. After threatening small claims I finally got 600 of my 800 deposit back , but apparently damaged a toaster so that was a 200$ deduction! Needless to say I wrote a warning on sherkston fb page. My inbox was flooded with others ripped off of the 800$ deposit. I have also found two others posting same complaint last July on this site! One renter lost deposit late June 2022 because wheel fell of golf cart. Funny enough I wasn’t able to rent her golf cart on august 29th, bc the renter august 22nd had wheel fall off as well! The cart was damaged beyond repair… I’m sorry how do two renters in one and a half months lose the same tire and both lose 800$? Can we say scam? The office has been notified and I hope they take this seriously! Besides the obvious scamming going on , they are recording without consent !…
We arrived for a relaxing quiet last vacation of the year and greatly disappointed! Read the reviews they don’t lie, loud people loud music no patrol as they promised a year ago, Drunken kids and adults zooming on golf carts with blaring music to wake the dead! Security is overwhelmed with calls that they don’t even take action. The sites are very close together and not very well kept, would not come again and unfortunate because it’s a nice park with lots to do but the negative experience takes away from the park features.
I just came from from a couple night stay at the campground area of Sherkston and couldn't have been more disappointed in the experience. The bathrooms by my campsite and in the waterpark area were absolutely disgusting with no attempts to clean them (clogged, smelly, dirty, no toilet paper). But the worst part of the experience was the noise at night. I came with my family of 2 small kiddos as this place is clearly marketed online towards families, but all around me were huge groups of people blaring music and shouting until 2am. This place clearly attracts disrespectful partiers, which is great for them, but families need to be warned what they are getting into. I will definitely be going out of my way to tell my friends to avoid this place.
We are a family of four with two children aged 6 and 9. We came to Sherkston thinking we were going to have a nice end of summer family holiday. We camp regularly and have always known quiet hours to be strictly enforced. Not at Sherkston! It is currently 1230 am and I feel like I am at a nightclub. I called security 2 hours ago about a campsite down the road who has profane music blaring and laser lights asking if they could please approach the site to turn down their music. They said they would but never came. I am now listening to screaming, yelling, hollering laughing, speeding cars and golfcarts. It is impossible to sleep and will surely put a damper on our beach day tomorrow as we will all be sleep deprived. This weekend was not cheap, and we thought we would splurge for a nice final trip before school starts. Instead I am feeling stressed and wondering if we should just leave early and lose our money. Don't come to Sherkston if you're looking for a family vacation. If you want to get drunk and party this is the place for you.…
My family have loved staying here for the past couple years. It has a lot of fun things to keep children occupied....( at an extra cost) I wish I could come here and tell you how wonderful the campground is, but my recent visit put a sour taste in my mouth. I went camping with a couple friends. We booked our trips a couple weeks apart. We were talking about the cost of the trip, and we soon discovered that my husband and I paid $500 more than them. Our sites are side by side, same size, camped the same days. We instantly felt sick to our stomachs. $500 is a lot of money to lose. I went to the front desk to talk to a manager. What I got was a young girl with little to no customer service at all. She explained it as an airline that fluctuates the prices on a daily basis. I said this isn't an airline. It's a campground. I'm staying in my own trailer on a budget lot for $1000 a week, and my friend is only paying $427 for the same vacation. I asked if I could have a credit towards my next stay. She basically told me that it was my problem that I purchased the trip on one of the higher end days. Tell me where does it say on the website that the prices are "hundreds" of dollar differences between families? FOR PEOPLE LOOKING TO BOOK.......DO NOT PAY FULL PRICE FOR YOUR TRIP, BECAUSE IT COULD BE CHEAPER THE NEXT DAY. That's my advice to other travelers. I told the girl that I would go to social media about how this resort is scamming families. She shrugged her shoulders at me. She had no cares in the world. I feel completely heartbroken about losing this kind of money. I don't know how they justify charging all of these prices. I wont be bringing my business back to Sherkston, and I will only recommend others to stay away too. There are plenty of other fun campgrounds comparable to Sherkston that are cheaper, and who care about they're returning customers.…
This place has dramatically gone down hill over the last 5 years. Everywhere is insanely over-crowded, the public areas are filthy, and the trailers are showing their age (broken furniture, televisions that don’t work properly, and missing privacy blinds). The biggest problem with this place is the NOISE. If you want any sort of sleep, DO NOT STAY HERE - my kids have cried themselves to sleep the past 2 nights because our trailer is shaking. People have their music blasting from 8pm to 11pm at their accommodations and then you get to here all of golf carts driving past with their speakers blaring until 2am.
We are currently staying in the Dunes section of the resort. The trailer across the street has been blaring their music for over an hour, hooting and hollering. When I went over to ask them to turn it down, they turned it up. I even told them my child was bawling because it was so loud. We have called security twice. Security came and joked around with them and did nothing. They are clearly sending the message that this is not a family friendly place. I had to call security the previous evening at 2am as they were playing loud music with more than 10 people out by the road yelling loudly. All day and all night golf carts drive by blaring music at all hours. Fireworks were heard at 4am our first night. This place is no longer meant for families with young kids. Do NOT waste your money.…
The resort as a whole is nice but they need to keep better maintenance, which you would expect for the cost! The pools are constantly cloudy and dirty with debris, bugs and hair floating around and it doesn’t appear to get cleaned all day. The ropes inside the pool are covered in hair and look like they are never cleaned or changed. For how expensive this place is they should be doing hourly sweeps of the pools. Also, the teenagers/preteens take up half the pool jumping in/splashing all the young kids/babies in the face to the point that they have to get out. Jumping is fine but this is constant, “who can make bigger splashes” (not normal jumps) for hours straight disturbing other guests and nothing is said to them. The washrooms in the pool area are so dirty there was blood and poop smeared over multiple stalls and dirty tampons on the floor and it was like this for hours. The dog parks have so much dog poo you can barely walk in them :(…
