The owner/manager/hostess is super kind and calm. She speaks English, Spanish and her native European language. She did a great job of communication via WhatsApp and was assuring and helpful. As far as the property, keep your expectations in line with cost and you should be happy. The community area is pleasant. The internet worked very good. They accept credit cards. Her friendly dogs and cats run free which for me was entertainment and not a problem. Each room is unique. Some with bathroom inside and some with bathroom outside of your room. Is it right for you? Well you are an uptight perfectionist who expects the Marriott its not for you. You might see a bug (beds have mosquito nets to help) you might hear noise exterior to the property (trucks, dogs, roosters but they can’t control that) not on beach (one block away) no pool, no restaurant, no air conditioning, no hot water, no TV, but I was not bothered by any of those things things. I feel I got a nice authentic Mexico beach experience at a low price, met a kind person and would happily go back. It is on the far south end of Zipolite, so its about 15 minute walk to the main tourist area but its a walk on a pleasant beach which I enjoyed and it felt safe, if that’s not for you its a cheap cab ride. By the standards of Zipolite it was cleaner than many with a friendlier vibe than all others. Overall, with the right attitude and managed expectations an experience which is more memorable than a typical hotel. Glad I stayed here, hope I provided objective info to help you know if it fits your needs. Thank you Castillo, Peace.

Castillo Oasis is the best place to stay in Zipolite. Located on the far east end of the beach, this little five-room hotel is clean, comfortable and adorable. We stayed in the double room, which is on the "first" floor (above ground level), and which opens onto a small balcony where you can read in a hammock and watch iguanas climb down the trees. Our bed had good mosquito netting, and there was ample room for our belongings on the bench, table, shelves and hangers in the room. Downstairs there was a bathroom that was supposed to be shared with the single room next door, but seemed to be used by all the hotel guests (this was only a minor inconvenience). The family running the hotel was amazing. They were very helpful and extremely kind; in some ways the woman was like a mother to us! We wired the money to the hotel in advance; this took two trips to the bank but once the money was sent Castillo Oasis confirmed our reservation right away. Through meeting other travelers I had the chance to check out a number of hotels in Zipolite (not overnight... get your mind out of the gutter!) and none were as nice as Castillo Oasis. It's the only place I would stay if I returned to this little slice of beach!

I stayed at Castillo Oasis for 4 nights in a double room and it was amazing. The hotel is beautiful, incorporating lots of timber, stone and natural elements into the space. The bathroom and bedroom were clean and tidy. The room was simple yet felt really comfortable, with beautiful details and I really enjoyed the hammocks on the terrace. There were a couple of other guests whilst I was there but it still felt very private. The beach is 1 minute walk, there is a store across the road and a couple of good restaurants at this end of town. I really enjoyed being at this end of the beach away from the more touristy zone and discovered Playa Del Amor over the headland.

My stay was really made special by Corrina. She is such a wonderful, open, caring person and I am very thankful I got to meet her and her son Jonas. I really felt like part of the family whilst I was there and was even able to get a lift to Puerto Escondido the day I left.

Highly recommended.

We stayed in the "Tower Room" which is the only 3rd floor room in this small family owned and operated hotel. The tower room has a palapa roof, open air looking out at the palm trees and over roof tops. Corrina and her son Jonas (12 years) are wonderful and accommodating. We've felt like part of the family in our 7 week stay. The hotel has a cool, comfortable, relaxed feel. Extremely clean and well kept with lots of beautiful and homey touches. Corrina is always helpful and speaks English, Spanish and German fluently. They've lived here for 16 years and are an important part of the community. There is a small, clean and well run mini store across the street that seems to have everything you need....even pencil sharpener and eraser! We highly recommend staying here and particularly the tower room if available. It's 50 yards to the beach and only a 7 minute walk to Zipolite, so it's quiet even on Friday and Saturday nights.

A clean, pretty and quiet hostel full of fun little decorative details. It really met my expectations- to be able to relax in a peaceful and quiet environment, whilst being close to the sea and restaurants. The owners are super friendly and the place really clean.

Funky little hotel for a budget minded traveler. If you need top of the line to be happy this place isn't for you. If your like me and happy with a cold shower and a warm bed this is your spot for the right price. The owner is onsite and very helpful and welcoming. Very safe area tucked away from the bar & nightlife.

This posada has been for me and my partner just the right place to stay in Zipolite.
Not really in the center of town but the location is simply amazing.
We had the top floor room which is a cosy open space overlooking a slice of "playa de el amor" with its wonderful sunsets.
The room was really clean and Corinna (the owner) and her son are always keen to give you tips about the sorroundings and "must sees".
Just in front of this posada you can find a mini market which has basically everything you need, especially very cheap and tasty mexican beers :)

We'd definitely come back again...

This is a wonderfully quirky place - it's essentially a tree house among the palm trees with walkways connecting the rooms and hammocks on leafy, shaded suspended terraces. The friendly owners have obviously gone to a lot of trouble to make the place special and unique, with shell mobiles hanging from the palm branch roof and beautifully painted murals in the shared (cold) shower. When we arrived they'd got their dates mixed up and weren't expecting us until the following week, and only had a small room available, so I'd recommend confirming a couple of days beforehand. It's also rather hot because it's located on the street behind the beach and so doesn't get the breeze from the sea, but I think if we'd had one of the bigger rooms this wouldn't have been so much of a problem. The Castillo Oasis is basic but extremely imaginative and I'd definitely go back there.

The owner Corinna and the employee Flor are very friendly and welcoming. The name says it all. It‘s a very nice place to relax, to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and very close to the beach. It’s located in the half of Zipo which seems to be a bit more quiet, what we enjoyed. Everything is clean and well kept. The decoration is made with so much passion, that‘s impressive. We never have stayed in a place with so many lovely details. The wood, the paintings, the choice of design is just beautiful! Our bed was comfortable, the fan was great, the room spacious. It‘s definitely great value and we would definitely come again and recommend it. Thank you very much for this nice experience.

This place is one of a kind! Starting from the host, cleanliness to attention to details! Such an amazing place, just one minute from the beach! Possibility to communicate in 3 languages (English, German and Spanish) is really useful for non Spanish speakers! Totally worth it!
