Returned back to this traditional Inn last week for an evening meal. Great service, attentive but not intrusive. The menu isn't the widest but a fair selection overall to satisfy most tastes. Food tasty and well presented. Don't normally do a dessert but did here and very impressed - I'd say we'll above average even if the choice is quite...

We were recently on a canal boat on the Llangollen Canal when we stopped off at a canal side pub near Whittington, unfortunately the host of the pub was not keen on serving us a meal as they had a large group due in and were not taking any orders. We were told that there was a pub in the...

Ate here for a family birthday & was pleasantly surprised & had a lovely evening. The menu was a little old fashioned but the food was great basic food & all of us enjoyed it all. Personally I had the Beer Battered Haddock & it was very good. The Salmon & the Ribeye Steaks look great too & the other...

Set in a lovely location, the quality of the food was excellent and reasonably priced. I would recommend booking a table if you are thinking of a weekend. Comfortable setting and friendly staff, who were very accommodating.

Went here on a lunch time, when we decided to have a walk around the area. This was a good find. I had the plaice, which was either grilled or battered. I ordered the plain grilled, and it was lovely, it came just as fish should be, no batter or breadcrumbs, why does every fish in our country have to...

A good range of bar and restaurant food with an excellent variety of meals. There is a lunchtime menu for lighter bites and an excellent evening menu with a really fine range of choices. The tables are set with quieter couplings or larger tables for family meals, the service is always good. The Inn is set opposite the magnificent ruins...

Me and my girlfriend booked a room here late minute as stopover coming back from a clay pigeon shooting competition in Mid Wales. Its an ideal location for a break in the journey or to explore Shropshire, we went to the Sunday point to point at Bangor on Dee Racecourse (only 20 minutes away). We checked in late afternoon and...

Were looking for somewhere 'different' to have lunch and were recommended Ye Olde Boote, very pleased we did. Excellent in many ways. Huge portions, served hot & on hot plates. Extremely attentive and accommodating staff. Well done.

Lunch yesterday with my wife and 2 friends, pleasant menu with large amount of starters or small portion meals but we could not order a child's meal for my very tiny eater wife. The food, mine plaice grilled was delicious and a large piece, my friends had beer battered haddock with mushy peas. Chips were served in separate dishes were...
