Clean, comfortable rooms. Could not get shower to stay at one temperature, and was also too low. Friendly very staff. Beautiful beer garden and outdoor space. Lots of passing traffic kept us awake. Good selection of beers, but they were quite flat! Poor gluten free menu, and breakfast was greasy.

We stayed one Saturday night; three friends in 2 rooms. Brailes is a nice village not far from Shipston-on-Stour and Banbury. A good centre for the Cotswolds. Nice local walks. A nice church and an interesting Catholic Chapel to wander round. The pub is used by locals and visitors alike and does good beer and bar snacks. There's also a... More

My four friends and I had a wonderful weekend at The George. The food was sublime (we sampled breakfast lunch and dinner!) and we were treated so well by the friendly staff. It has a lovely traditional feel and we soon felt at home.

We enjoyed a birthday celebration lunch. The range of starters was particularly good, the main courses less so. The main problem here was that the portions were too large for lunch, especially for those who do not want to leave food on their plate. Good deserts.

Service was great. Not so much the small room which was over pub and the peat fire. The bed was very comfortable. Flat screen TV was very small. Needs up dating which would make the rooms appear cleaner. This is not a hotel but rooms over a pub as advertised. Food and pub were great and the staff wonderful. Been waiting for... More

We stayed here in 2010 for a local wedding and returned for a Christening. The church is just across the road from the pub and you can certainly hear the bells ! You can also hear the general buzz from the bar but that's to be expected in a pub with rooms. Not being a light sleeper the bells nor... More

What a gem. You couldn't hope to find a more archetypal English country pub. Even infrequent visitors are treated as regulars. Excellent bar snacks and the Sunday roasts in the main restaurant are to die for. For those with smaller appetites (me) the staff are more than happy to serve up a child's portion at half the normal price. Although... More

Hello James Thank you for taking the time to review the George . I am so sorry that we did not meet your expectations . Firstly relating to the "rubbish" in the car park - yes there were a lot of leaves around which are now dealt with together with some other bits which don't belong to the Inn -... More

Stayed (albeit sadly) for one night only. The service from start to finish was excellent. Friendly, warm atmosphere. Our evening meal was fantastic (I recommend the goats cheese starter), as was breakfast. The rooms are spotless and nothing was too much hassle for staff. I recomend this beautiful old inn to anyone. Excellent
