If you are looking to experience what Colorado is all about, then visit the Goldminer. There is literally nothing I would change about this place. It is comfortable, warm( both in temperature and feeling), has a beautiful history, and upon leaving has a beckoning connection to return to its abode. Our hosts played an equal part in its splendor. They are perfect. Whether you need a ski vacation or just to get away from the grind, the Goldminer is the place for you.
Best bed and breakfast that I’ve ever stayed!

The Goldminer is quaint and historic, and the innkeepers are friendly and make a great breakfast. Ask for the room with th jacuzzi-style tub. They also have a hot tub downstairs. Eldora is a good ski resort for families and for the beginning to intermediate skier. It's nice because you can ski in Colorado without fighting the traffic on Interstate 70. The Black Forest German restaurant and Katmandu Indian Restaurant have excellent food in Nederland, as does the little First Street Pub (good microbrews). Stay at the Goldminer, which is almost right at the entrance to Eldora, and you can ski without dealing with the traffic hassles. They have room/lift ticket packages that save money, too.

Ask Carol about the ghost that lives upstairs! If you've ever wanted to stay in an authentic mountain ghost town, this is your chance. The rooms are all different in typical B&B style, some with brass beds and all pretty chilly in the winter. But there's a woodstove downstairs and an amazing hot breakfast (not those lame 6-week old pastries and stale coffee most places put out an an excuse for breakfast).

You are so close to Eldora Ski Mountain, it's very easy to make first tracks. And the owners have some passes with special room rates, so do ask about them. If you like to snowshoe, there's also lots of trails just outside the town of Eldora to explore.

I called from Maryland this morning at 11:35 (9:35mst), to make a reservation for August. (303) 258-7770. No answer. I waited a few minutes and tried again. No answer. I thought they might be in the kitchen, outside, or wherever. I called again. On their webpage there was a June update saying, "....make your summer reservation now." However, all dates were greyed out. So I tried again and a man answers, and rudely and angerly says, "What the hell is this!" long pause "You called 8 times" and hung up the phone. Are they open for business? Doesn't sound like it.

First, I should mention the location is not in the general Nederland vacinity, but in Eldora - really close to the Hessie trailhead. It is very out of the way and in a very peaceful picturesque part of CO. If you're looking to stay in Ned, then you probably don't really care to be out of the way in the first place. The decor is unique - homey, not fancy. The two rooms we had were well appointed.

The proprietors are a very kind, elderly couple. Carol spun some great ghost stories for my kids (we asked). Kids really enjoyed the made to order breakfast and probably ate about 8 pancakes. The kids really want to return again. We stayed in the suite, which was perfect for our family of four since the kids could share the bunk beds in the adjacent room. It was also nice to note that they were welcoming of the kids since not all B&Bs are set up that way.

If you are looking for a quiet, unique, remote place to have some mountain fun, this place is awesome! The ownners are very kind, helpful, and knowledgable:) Talk to them, we found them amazing person! The house itself is so cool!! So confortable to stay, especially with Carol's heart-warming breakfast:) The stone kitchen is Magzine-cool!

Eldora is a GREAT place to ski! Netherland downtown is fun to walk around. I found people there are very genuine, friendly and cool! The Mountain People's organic Co-op store and the live music there are fabulous!

Want to go back again!! Thank you Scot and Carol!

I'd heard about this place from friends, and it did not disappoint. Such a great experience -- rooms were very clean and really nicely decorated. We came just after Thanksgiving and it really got us in the holiday spirit -- so much snow on the outside, roaring fires in the fireplace and woodstove inside.

Breakfast is killer -- if we had been heading to the mountain to ski, we might have had a chance to burn it off! The innkeepers do a great job and are super-helpful.

A fun and unique experience!

This interesting historic building is very comfortable, and the owners/operators are extremely welcoming. The bedroom was huge, and the bed was very comfortable. The wireless internet was fast. The food was excellent and abundant. We were entirely pleased with our experience.

This place was really quiet and very clean. Originally booked the Spencer room. They upgraded us to the Eldorado room with a Jacuzzi tub. Very nice of the owners to do this for us. The bed was comfy, breakfast in the morning was great. Enjoyed our stay. We would stay there again if in Eldora.

We stayed at this historic, warm and comfy hotel for 3 nights in the midst of 4 days of snow! Our family of 3 felt like we were staying in the comfort of family. Scott & Carol were wonderful hosts and Carol's food was so delicious! Our rooms were warm and cozy, but we spent our evenings chatting with Carol and enjoying the Olympics on tv. We had a wonderful time! We will be back again!
