Stayed in 3 bedroom cottage. Big time infestation of earwigs everywhere in the cottage. They were in the dishwasher, fridge, bathroom and even the coffeemaker . The final straw was their presence in our grandson’s diaper bag. Professional exterminators are required! Property needs serious updating!
Stayed here in the summer of 2019- three generations: kids (3 and 5), parents and grandparents in one of the three bedroom cottages. We loved it. Great location- close to Cavendish area without being right in it. Lots of grass for the kids to run around when hanging out, great pool and little play area. Cottage had everything we needed as we did some meals there. (It was our first visit to PEI and we cant’t wait to comeback!)
We were driving by this place without any specific plans on where to stay and decided to check in, they had rooms for $79.00 but we decided on a cabin for $99.00 (what a deal) it was gorgeous and cute with a full kitchen, living room, deck, barbeque and everything! Nice very clean pool and hot tub it also had a much needed 24 hour laundry room.
Based on convenience, I could give this hotel three stars, as it is showing signs of age. It was the only place on a 12 day tour that still used metal keys, and although we received two, only one of them opened anything. The room layout was unique, as our group was housed on multiple floors and buildings, with no elevator. For most, this was no problem but we did have some folks in our group with mobility issues. The room fixtures also showed their age, but as an older facility, it had some saving graces. The bath, for one, was almost as large as some of the other suites we had stayed in. This is the kind of place a real estate agent would describe as "Quaint". Another saving point was the staff, especially the wonderful lady who served the dining room at our breakfast. She epitomized what hotel service should be.…
My family and I had the opportunity to stay at the Country Resort for a family wedding. The cabin (#12) that we stayed in was clean and cozy. It had a separate room for watching tv with a pullout couch. The beds were really comfortable and there is a small kitchenette with a stove and bar fridge along with a table to eat a meal. We would definitely stay there again on our next overnight visit to the Island.
We went to a wedding and the resort was close by so that is why we booked it. Room was dated and very overpriced. I expected at least to have a mini-fridge in the room which there was not. Additionally, the room had a musty smell. On the upside the staff were very friendly, outdoor pool and hot tub were fine. I would not stay at this resort again nor recommend it at the prices they charge.
Expensive for the quality of room. No elevator. Although the room was large the carpets were damp, smelly and we found a large beetle under the covers, The morning breakfast service (not included) is the only positive I could find about our stay.
Almost fifty of us booked cabins at this resort for a family reunion. We're relaxed people looking for a decent place where we could all be together and still have our own space. We weren't looking for top hotel experience but space and flexibility. The Resort was perfect for us. It's true that the bedspreads and curtains etc are all from another time, but we all loved the cabins. We had a main gathering at the pavilion with a fire afterward in the fire pit. They did make special salads for us because we had a lot of vegetarians and the food was okay but not fancy. The service, however, was excellent and flexible. Overall our stay was terrific. We hung out a lot at the pool and hot tub. Then reconvened after activities around the island. Lovely view at night. Time after time, people said it was a great choice because it met many different needs. Pros: Close to services in Cavendish, restaurants, and quick days trips for kids. Plentiful rooms available. Cute old pool. Hot tub. Fire pit at night. Cons: Mosquitoes but those are everywhere. No AC if it's hot, but we did have a fan which helped. The restaurant was no one's favorite. But there are so many others close!…
Our room had a rustic feel to it. Included dishes and BBQ which was very convenient. We had a small space with no AC, and only one window to keep open to try to cool our space. Needed to use fans, which only helped a little. The bath room was very dated but clean, however lots of flys there for some reason. Towels were clean. Pull out bed was extremely uncomfortable, and main bed was way too soft. We only stayed one night which was more then enough for us. NOTE - the information center near the PEI bridge was extremely helpful. We highly recommend stopping there if you need help.
My family of 4 recently stayed at the Stanley Bridge Country Resort 1 bedroom cottage. The cottages were clean and comfortable with a separate living room to watch television from the bedroom. My kids loved the pool, the open space to run and play and the highlight was we saw a family of foxes play nearby. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. We received a deal on our accommodations with passes to Shining waters, Sand Spit and Cavendish beach which made our time in PEI very affordable. Stanley bridge is just a short drive away from Cavendish and all the attractions. We plan to return again next summer!
