I stayed at this Resort back in 2000. It was lovely then. 2023 August was not the same experience. This place is completely run down. No services what so ever. Very strong smell of Body Oder through building. We stayed in the Lodge and had friends in the cabins. Cabins also completely run down. Cabins not clean and rooms not clean. Dead bugs and urine stains on toilet seat. AC in most rooms not working. Friends that stayed in the cabin couldn’t get the bedroom door open to get out. It only opened from the outside. They appear to be lacking staff. No menu for food. Went down for breakfast, no one there. Man at front desk turned on the dining room light and gave me a few choices on how I could have my eggs, choice of sausage or ham, hash browns and one piece of toast. (No other choices made available to me). This place should not be called a Resort and way overpriced. I will say the bed was comfortable.

This resort is lacking some things but first I will tell you the good things The bed is lovely and lots of blankets and pillows We were on the 3rd floor and we had a beautiful view Lots of space The bathroom was great and lots of towels and soap and shampoo There were no Febreeze smells ( I am sensitive to scents) They let us check in early Windows that open A/C The bad: No elevator The TV and Internet were out for the 3 nights we stayed there (long weekend) No maid service other than garbage, replenishing bathroom supplies Only gave us 2 packs of coffee for the whole 3 days and no decaf Tired furniture and carpet Outdated wall colours We were told we would get compensation for the internet and TV but we are still waiting

Will never return again - cottage was infested with ear wigs and we found a used condom in our bed ~ we checked out immediately and will never return again. This establishment should not be open for anyone

Stayed at the resort Inn for a wedding for two nights this past weekend. The Inn is affected by the worker shortages, for sure. The individuals who work there that we encountered were lovely but they did not have enough staff to open the food services so we had to travel to find breakfast and other meals. The Inn and cottages is such a lovely place in a prime location and has such potential but it is suffering from neglect and lack of aesthetic investment. They have dated carpets and furniture and you can tell no one has made much of a change since my last stay in 2001. The rooms were big, the A/C blew cold (a bit noisy), the beds were comfy and it was definitely clean. Upgraded paint, floors, towels, and toiletries with some attention to the infrastructure's exterior would bring it back to its former glory and might draw year-round attention. It seems to me the owner is running it into the ground and it is limping along to get as much out of it without putting more into it. The sign said no vacancy the whole time we were there but it did not look like there were many guests so I think that they are running it lean due to not enough staffing. My guess is that the limited staff in hospitality are working for more modern and up to date buildings that run services where tips are more possible. Working in an empty hotel that is a shadow of its former glory is not rewarding for anyone. Overall, I was happy to find a place to stay on short notice. I felt the price did not match and we were overcharged for what we got. I will be sad to see this resort decline as it is inevitable to do the way it is currently being managed.

Stayed in 3 bedroom cottage. Big time infestation of earwigs everywhere in the cottage. They were in the dishwasher, fridge, bathroom and even the coffeemaker . The final straw was their presence in our grandson’s diaper bag. Professional exterminators are required! Property needs serious updating!

Stayed here in the summer of 2019- three generations: kids (3 and 5), parents and grandparents in one of the three bedroom cottages. We loved it. Great location- close to Cavendish area without being right in it. Lots of grass for the kids to run around when hanging out, great pool and little play area. Cottage had everything we needed as we did some meals there. (It was our first visit to PEI and we cant’t wait to comeback!)

We were driving by this place without any specific plans on where to stay and decided to check in, they had rooms for $79.00 but we decided on a cabin for $99.00 (what a deal) it was gorgeous and cute with a full kitchen, living room, deck, barbeque and everything! Nice very clean pool and hot tub it also had a much needed 24 hour laundry room.

Based on convenience, I could give this hotel three stars, as it is showing signs of age. It was the only place on a 12 day tour that still used metal keys, and although we received two, only one of them opened anything. The room layout was unique, as our group was housed on multiple floors and buildings, with no elevator. For most, this was no problem but we did have some folks in our group with mobility issues. The room fixtures also showed their age, but as an older facility, it had some saving graces. The bath, for one, was almost as large as some of the other suites we had stayed in. This is the kind of place a real estate agent would describe as "Quaint". Another saving point was the staff, especially the wonderful lady who served the dining room at our breakfast. She epitomized what hotel service should be.

Response from SBCResort, Manager at Stanley Bridge Country Resort
Responded Aug 29, 2019
Hello, Thank you for taking the time to review. We are certainly an older facility, being locally owned and in business for over 30 years, we are constantly working on upgrades while also keeping our rustic roots. Although we don't have an elevator we do try to accommodate our guests with mobility issues as best as possible if we know ahead of time. We truly hope you enjoyed your stay here with us and through out our beautiful island and are thrilled to hear such positive feedback about our staff.

My family and I had the opportunity to stay at the Country Resort for a family wedding. The cabin (#12) that we stayed in was clean and cozy. It had a separate room for watching tv with a pullout couch. The beds were really comfortable and there is a small kitchenette with a stove and bar fridge along with a table to eat a meal. We would definitely stay there again on our next overnight visit to the Island.

We went to a wedding and the resort was close by so that is why we booked it. Room was dated and very overpriced. I expected at least to have a mini-fridge in the room which there was not. Additionally, the room had a musty smell. On the upside the staff were very friendly, outdoor pool and hot tub were fine. I would not stay at this resort again nor recommend it at the prices they charge.
