Guests have lauded Villa La Valencia Beach Resort & Spa for its stunning location, which combines beauty and convenience. The atmosphere is notably vibrant, with a mix of lively entertainment and serene spaces. While service is predominantly attentive, some visitors have encountered slow responses, particularly in restaurants and at check-in.
Cleanliness is a high point, as are the amenities like the lazy river, although there have been remarks about limited pool chairs and ongoing construction. The value proposition has been criticized, with guests feeling the costs outweigh the benefits, and noise levels have sometimes detracted from the peacefulness of stays. Rooms have received mixed feedback, balancing commendations for their views and comfort with concerns over noise and consistency in upkeep.

Very nice new modern resort on the beach around half way to Cabo San Lucas. I personally like more Mexican decor but it seems all the new resorts are ultra modern these days. Kids and parents really like the Lazy River feature. The rooms are very nice with a big patio and the toilet has a heated seat with bidet features I have no idea how to use. Plus the elevators here are fast, unlike most other resorts.
The beach is huge but no swimming allowed. Lots of whale watching from the beach or infinity pool. It’s also where smoking is allowed. A couple venders are usually set up at the beach if you want a hat or sunglasses. They have a fantastic lunch menu at the pools, my favorite is the shrimp cocktail and tempura veggies.
Loungers are usually gone by 9:00am but they have a guy that monitors unoccupied reserved seats and if you don’t show in a hour he pulls your stuff to lost and found, which was nice to see.
The buffet was good for breakfast and dinners with music. We did the Italian restaurant one evening but they were having an issue with their oven, the soup came cold and it took 1-1/2 hours for spaghetti.
We were here all-inclusive and it was a nuisance to always have to sign for everything and then get a email receipt. We tipped in Pesos rather than bringing US dollars since Pesos are preferred and appreciated.

Had an amazing time at this resort. Going into it, I was hesitant because it is a family-friendly resort and is not adults only. I was also worried that they would be too pushy for us to listen to a time share pitch. Neither of these were issues during our stay.
What was amazing: The hotel is only a couple of years old and has been maintained very well. The mattress and pillows were very comfortable, throughout the resort we were even happily surprised to see bidets in most of the bathrooms and in each room. The food is a higher quality than you will find at most all-inclusive resorts in Mexico and the drinks are also made well pretty consistently. Hotel staff were very friendly, helpful and happy. The lazy river is large and fun for adults too. The infinity edge pool has an amazing view of the ocean and can also be hard to find at Cabo resorts. Carlos gave us the best service each morning at Patron for breakfast. Daniel and Sheila were very attentive to our group by the pool for any drinks or food that we wanted to order. Our spa services exceeded expectations and were quite reasonably priced too.
Helpful Tips: The blow dryers in each room are pretty weak and added quite a bit of extra time for me to get ready. Tubes are provided by hotel for the lazy river - but I recommend bringing your own.

We are a member of the Villa Group and this was our first stay since buying our membership in February 2023. This is by far the nicest resort we have stayed in. For reference, we have stayed at 2 Sandals resorts and 2 Excellence resorts. We took an Uber from the airport and throughout our stay when going to San Jose or Cabo San Lucas for day/night trips. This resort allows the Uber drivers to pull right into the resort while others do not, so this was very nice. The resort is very clean and well maintained everywhere. The staff is genuinely friendly and want you to have an amazing stay. We had a studio room and it was large enough for the two of us. My two favourite parts of the room were the black out blinds that opened and closed with the touch of a button and the bidet, lol. All the food we tried was amazing- from the breakfast buffet to the a la carte restaurants. Reservations were easy to obtain the day of unlike other resorts we have stayed in where we've had to line up at 6am to maybe get a reservation. The pools were all set at a great temperature, I rarely swim in resort pools as I get too cold but this was not the case here. Several options for pools and hot tubs. They don't allow guests to reserve lounge chairs before 8am and if you leave your spot, you have an hour to return before they move your things. Some guests on our resort figured out they could reserve lounge chairs earlier than that if they just sat on them until 8am but you laid your towel down and left there was someone down there who would remove your things. The beach loungers were not used by too many people while we were there. Probably because you aren't allowed to swim in the ocean but that didn't stop us. It was nice and quiet on the beach so we played our own music and had a great time. We spent a lot of time on the lazy river as well, this made up for the lack of swimming in the ocean for us! We brought our own floaties for the infinity pool but used there's for the lazy river. The gym was decent for a resort, good variety of weights and cardio equipment. Decent size and great hours for early risers. The only things I was disappointed in was the service we received at the restaurants and our deposit we paid upon check in. At both La Taberna and Latitud restaurants, the service was slow between courses and we felt like were forgotten about. Regarding the deposit, they take a $850US deposit upon checkin in case you charge anything to the room and guarantee a refund if you don't. We didn't charge anything to our room and have yet to receive our deposit back. Overall, we are very happy with our stay and look forward to trying the other resorts with the Villa Group.

Management was not accommodating after they shut the toilets off for about 12 hours overnight in my kids room without informing us. Upon speaking with Juan Carlos we were scolded for not complaining sooner. 3 calls to the front desk asking for someone to turn them in and being told someone is coming though they never did is complaining in my opinion. Aside from this our other room had no hot water. The front desk told us it was every room in the entire hotel. Another hotel guest pointed out that they had hot water so we were able to use that information to ask for a room change. As far as no working toilets in a room of 3 young adults, we were compensated $30 and invited to write a negative review should we choose to. Honestly, the hotel looks pretty when you get there but no hot water in one room and no working toilets in another are not acceptable conditions for a hotel that charged $1100 per room per night. Will never give this establishment another chance again nor any other hotels their company owns. Very disappointed that the hotel staff had name tags that say “yes we can” yet they continually told us no. We only got to change rooms for hot water after a guest pointed out that we were not told the truth by the front desk regarding the hot water situation in all rooms. Bottom line, there are far better hotels in Los Cabos that will focus on problem resolution which can happen anywhere. Too bad.

This was our seventh time staying at Valencia. We absolutely love the location and the staff. We consider this resort to be our home away from home. We did experience a few things this time that were negative compared to our previous stays.
1) the pool bar menu changed and while they added some new items. They removed some items that were customer favorites, for example the nachos are no longer on the menu. I heard a few people complaining that they had been removed.
2) the chair saving was completely out of control. The infinity pool had all seats saved by 6am and the adult pool was completely taken by 7:30am. The pool concierge were good about going and removing items if there wasn’t anyone sitting there, but it didn’t change the fact that if you weren’t at the pool by 8 am, you were out of luck. We even witnessed a group saving almost 20 chairs. I’m not sure what the answer is but, they need to find a solution. This was the first time that we ever experienced this so maybe it was just the time of year.
3) it was obvious that they were short staffed for housekeeping. Our room wasn’t ready until almost 5 pm. We also had two days where we went back to the room around 4 pm to get ready and they still hadn’t cleaned so we just asked for towels and didn’t have them clean since we had to shower and get ready.
4) We had two days where we were charged for items from the honor bar, which we never touched. We also caught the honor bar person taking the money that we had left for house keeping. We did bring this up to the front desk but our bill wasn’t adjusted until we checked out and brought it up again.
5) the food at La Taberna and Latitude were subpar, especially for the price. Two people ordered the catch of the day(red snapper) at La Taberna and it was awful. It was over cooked and rubbery. Honestly, I’m questioning if it was actually fish. The steaks at Latitude were either overcooked or undercooked, no consistency at all.
We truly love this resort and plan on being back but it was clear that they were not ready for the spring break crowd. We don’t do all inclusive and I’m glad we don’t because the food off of the resort is so much better. Overall a great trip but definitely a few pain points.

We recently stayed at this resort in mid-August for four nights (Tuesday to Saturday), and while the experience had its highlights, there are a few important things to know before booking.
First, **avoid rooms 3033, 3022, 3301, 3308, 3309, and 3310**, especially 3033, which we unfortunately had. These rooms are right off the lobby, and the noise from the lobby check-in and bar is constant. Other floors have divider doors to block out the noise, but the lobby level does not. I regret not requesting a room change after unpacking with two kids, so if you're assigned one of these rooms, stand your ground and ask to be moved. Our room also only had one sink, with the toilet in the shower area, which is odd since most studios here have two sinks and a separated toilet and shower.
As for the room type, **the ocean view upgrade is not worth it**. The pool view rooms are quieter and still offer a partial ocean view. The ocean view rooms just face the front of the hotel and look directly onto the ocean from the back of the property, so you're not getting much more for the extra cost. If you want an upgrade, I suggest doing it before you arrive. We booked through Costco Travel, and upgrading to a 1-bedroom suite was only $300 more at the time of booking, but once we got there, they wanted $1000 for the upgrade and wouldn’t budge, despite the hotel being less than half full. That said, **Costco Travel was a great option** for overall value, including transportation and resort credits.
**Food was average to above average**, though signing checks after each meal even with the all-inclusive package was a bit annoying, especially with the wait. Our favorite dishes were tacos, salads, and seafood by the pool, the caprese puff pastry and rack of lamb at Latitud, the prime rib at El Patron, and the caprese at La Taberna. A tip: **make your restaurant reservations online well before your trip**, as they fill up fast.
The **staff were incredibly friendly** throughout our stay. Special shoutout to Alessandro, the pool waiter, who was outstanding and super accommodating. However, be aware that the "concierge" team is mainly focused on selling timeshares, so steer clear unless you're interested in a pitch.
As for the rooms, **studio rooms are quite small**, with limited storage and counter space. If you're traveling with children, I strongly recommend upgrading to a 1-bedroom or larger room. We stayed in an ocean view studio for $1710, which included all-inclusive for one adult and two kids, shared transportation, and $350 in resort credits that we used for massages and food upgrades.
The resort is **modern and new**, though we were there during construction of the infinity pool, which caused some noise. Fortunately, they tried to mask the noise with music, and it wasn’t a dealbreaker since we got a good rate. Lastly, I highly recommend going **all-inclusive** here. The food and drink prices are very high, so even if you only eat one meal a day on the property, the all-inclusive package is worth it.
Overall, our stay had its ups and downs, but worth it for the cost.

I want to start this off by saying I never write reviews but we were so please with our stay at Villa La Valencia that I want to thank each and every employee who helped us during our wedding stay. We got married on November 10th at Baja Luna (offsite property) and chose Villa La Valencia to do our room block at, as the wedding venue does not have a hotel attached. Finding our room block was an extremely stressful process but once we found this hotel, we were so at ease. We were looking for a price conscious, upscale, all-inclusive resort with great food. Villa La Valencia hit every mark. We did not see the property before staying here but it exceeded every expectation. The rooms are in tip top shape, the grounds are so well-maintained, and every bathroom has a heated toilet seat with bidet!
We were greeted with a beautiful charcuterie board to welcome us and had a gorgeous delivery of strawberries and decorations on our wedding night.
We had a group of about 50 people staying at the same resort and Rolando was able to accommodate us with the food & beverage coordinator for a dinner next to the pool. We were served a family style chef selection menu from the steakhouse. It was immaculate! We could not believe they were able to pull this off for us with a 1 day notice. We knew it would be a tough ask but they completed exceeded our expectations.
The service here is top notch. If you need a luxury feel stay without breaking the bank, this is the place to be. Rolando Pech was an amazing help to coordinate all of our needs. We will definitely be returning in the future.

We had a great stay at the Villa la Valencia over Christmas (a busy time at the property). The staff were universally a positive. They were attentive to our needs and went above and beyond to make sure that we were having a good time. The property is quite new, so everything worked really well. I particularly enjoyed the sizeable patio with both a seating area and a large table where we ate several meals. The lazy river lived up to my expectations and was a lot of fun. We also did the morning exercise class where you walk against the current while exercising.
Guests do reserve loungers early in the day, so there can be a shortage at both the infinity pool and the family pools. There was always space available at the adult pool, but it was losing the sun by about 2 in the afternoon (again, we were there in the winter). The most popular pool space is by the infinity pool. There were always loungers available on the beach. Another reviewer indicated that all the beach chairs were reserved for elite members. That was not our experience. About half of them -- the ones closest to stairs from the resort -- were for the elite members, but the rest were available to the rest of us. Food and drinks could be ordered from the beach and the servers made frequent visits to see if we needed anything. You do need to bring a towel from the pool area to the beach chairs.
We tried each of the restaurants and appreciated the variety. We had no trouble making reservations at the two restaurants that require dinner reservations. My one complaint about the restaurants was that the Mexican restaurant seemed to default to a buffet even on the nights when they were supposed to be serving from a menu. Perhaps this is because we were there at a busy time, but I would have appreciated a Mexican restaurant that prepared dishes to order. We also used room service for both breakfast and dinner and had good, and relatively quick, service.
We had last been in Cabo just before the pandemic. One big and very positive change that we noticed was the ubiquity of Uber and the diminished power of the taxis. We used Uber to go into both San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas as well as the always necessary trip to Costco.
All in all, we had a great stay at the Villa la Valencia and look forward to returning soon.

The resort is in a soft opening still, but you would barely notice. It is stunning inside and out with incredible views. There is an amazing lazy river, and an infinity pool that is over looking the Sea of Cortez. The staff is top notch - especially Alma, who was always hustling to make sure we had any food, drink, etc we wanted quickly. She was efficient, friendly, detail oriented and just a joy to deal with. Noe, the pool concierge was also amazing - making sure we had all the towels we needed, including towel art (swans). We brought our own floatys and one got popped. They were immediately fixing the floaty and even swam it out to is in the lazy river. We ate at La Taberna and had amazing paella, and Lattitude 23.5 and had great signature cocktails. Both had live artists playing every night we were there that were extremely talented. All the staff we encountered was friendly and wanted to make sure we had an incredible stay. We chose to do All Inclusive the first 3 of our 4 days and extremely enjoyed it. The rooms are beautiful down to every detail, including bidet toilets that include auto sensors to warm the seat before you sit, and programmable options for the bidet. Including a tooshy dryer. The doors to the decks open for full indoor outdoor living.
The downsides, in my opinion, in this resort are the location in that while the view is incredible, the beach is not swimmable right outside the resort. Not a huge deal as you can take a taxi 5 minutes down the road to Chileano Bay or 5 minutes the other way, and both have great beach swimming. It's a little further to the Marina and downtown, a $60 RT taxi fare (although Uber is cheaper). The other downside is that there are a few areas that have a sewer smell. My guess is that it will be resolved as they are not done with construction, it is a soft opening and they are aware of it. It's just a few small areas where it happens but not ideal. Overall, this resort is one I cannot wait to come back to! We were blown away with the amenities and service!

This is an amazing resort in Cabo. The rooms are spacious and super clean. In fact the whole hotel is super clean …the washer dryer came in handy. the infinity pool and the lazy river are one of a kind. the staff is amazing and the service is excellent. The little deli on the first floor is well stocked and there's a general store as well. We did not get the all-inclusive package but we ate at the restaurants a couple of times -especially the coral (pool side) has excellent food. The room service is very useful as well. After we checked out, we still had a few hours before our airport pick up so they held our bags when we went for an outdoor activity. After we were back, they sent us to the hospitality room which is a nice room with a bathroom and restroom where we could shower/relax till our transport arrived. It was the best experience ever to stay in this hotel with the excellent staff and their awesome service.

The free shuttle exists between Del Palmar, Estancia and Del Arco in Cabo San Lucas. It runs every 10 minutes.
Villa La Valencia in Cabo San Jose requires Uber about $25.
There were poolside specials during the day such as 2 for 1 from 11-12 (approx) on drinks or half priced pizzas certain days. Pools were a comfortable temperature for the temp outside, there are also several hot tubs.
There are more places to choose from in the Cabo San Lucas area.
