I'm not one to write a review however after our fantastic stay at The Ridge at Playa Grande I am compelled to do so. We stayed at The Ridge for a week over New Years, and our family of 4, with 2 kids ages 9 and 14, had no shortage of activities and fun. They didn't attend the Kids Club but there were piñata parties poolside, crafts and ceramics painting, ping pong table and of course lots of swimming. The grounds and resort inside and out are well maintained and there are staff constantly working around the clock to keep it this way. The resort staff is over-the-top attentive with service ALL DAY and EVENING, seriously, they do all they can to ensure you are comfortable and happy. We stayed in a 1 BR with full kitchen and a queen sized Murphy bed for the kids which was perfect. Beds were extremely comfortable, new or like-new beds, I checked, and the pillows and linens were crisp, clean and higher end in quality. My husband and I like to vacation well, and The Ridge met this criteria and more. Our balcony had a full and unobstructed view of the harbor and marina and the mountains in the distance, it was incredible. Our balcony was spacious and ran the width of our entire BR and LR, with comfortable cushioned patio furniture and chairs. We had 2 full baths both of which were spacious and very clean. The pools were clean and our kids loved the slide at the Ridge pool. We had full use of the Playa Grande amenities too, which was a great bonus since The Ridge pools were small, and The Ridge vibe was really quiet. My kids liked the busier vibe and lots of kids to hang around with at the Playa Grande pools, so it worked out great. Our friends did the all inclusive, we didn't but ate with them for a few dinners and the food was good, well presented and fresh. I particularly enjoyed the taco grill and bar poolside, the shrimp tacos were out of this world. Freshly prepared tacos with all the fixings were incredible. We attended the NYE and Beach Party events and honestly I have to give a huge shout out to the Entertainment team at Playa Grande, wow, they had us laughing and having a great time all the time. My daughter and I had a full spa day too, and the spa services were also excellent. From the infinity spa pool, to the free mimosas, to the fruit and meat/cheese plate poolside to the relaxation room, staff was incredible. They work really hard as does all of the staff at the resort property to ensure guests are treated like kings and queens. I obviously am highly recommending this property and we will certainly stay here again.

The Ridge is the timeshare part of the Playa Grande Resort. We were given a week there by a friend who is an “owner”. When you stay at The Ridge you get to use all the amenities of the resort including the all inclusive packages. The rooms and grounds are top notch and the service is what you would expect at a top tier resort. The Ridge has its own infinity pools, hot tubs, swim up bar, and restaurant. It also has adults only pools with poolside food and beverage service. The theme nights in the resort restaurants are worth attending because the quality of the food is outstanding. We attended a lobster night (perfect steak and lobster), a fantastic beach party which included all you could eat and drink, an Italian night, and a seafood night. The chiefs are creative and the buffets offer great selections (again all you can eat and include cocktails and wine). The beach is beautiful but going into the water is not allowed (too dangerous). There are downsides which do keep me from giving a higher rating. This is a timeshare based resort and they will try to get you to attend a presentation. Our 90 minute “property tour” lasted 5 hours and was a wasted day. They did give us a $200.00 resort credit for attending. I only mention this so you will be aware and not get pulled into something you do not want to do. Not attending will not diminish the wonderful experience you can have at Playa Grande. Also, the drinks could be better if premixes were not used.

We have a 3 bedroom unit at the Ridge in November and we really like it. It has a full kitchen plus outdoor BBQ and a spa!!! We try to cook several times a week as we are in Cabo for 2 weeks (Cabo is getting expensive). Room: 3141 My check in was Oct 24,2020. It took 45 mins because the front desk agent had no idea how to find reservations that were booked through hotel tonight. I am sure that I am not the only person in the world to book through a third party nor is it my responsibility to teach him how to find my reservation. If an offer is on hotel tonight then that means, the room can be booked through them. He kept saying that I didn’t have a reservation when I clearly had a confirmation email from hotel tonight. Once he found my reservation he was very rude about the fact that I used a third party by making remarks that I should only book through them. The worse part of it all is that we received the same treatment from the concierges as well. They were offended that I purchased my excursions at the Marina. They kept saying that it’s not right that I didn’t buy from them. I buy the best deal regardless, my choice period. I shouldn’t have been haggled for finding a better deal especially when they charge USA prices. It was very distasteful, tacky, and unprofessional how much attitude we received especially when I spent a good amount to stay here for 4 days. To make this worse, our room was on the ridge side which took 2 elevators and 2 hills to arrive. We were not offered cart service or maybe a different room even after his treatment toward a paying guest plus spending 45 mins in resolving the reservations ordeal. I didn’t even get a welcome drink or a bell man to help me with my luggage. Most but not all of the staff was cold and unhelpful. I would never stay here again. I am a content creator that travels making videos on personal recommendations to my followers on where to stay. Definitely never again.

This trip was one of my favorite since coming to Cabo! On our first day we checked in and it was flawless. We worked with Goretty who was kind and very efficient. She was the best part because I had a broken foot and she was able to put us in the perfect room that was not too far from anything. Then we’re served by the happiest waiter named Jorge. We would wait for him every morning and sit wherever he was working. The other person I wanted to mention is Carmen. She was our room attendant and she did such a great job cleaning around 4 disorganized adults. We had a different towel animal everyday. The views were spectacular and the Mexican Fiesta night was so fun! My only complaint is that it is not very handicapped accessible which made it difficult for me to get around. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone!

Had a reservation for the old Solmar resort in June and November. In June we were moved to Playa Grande and our AI was upgraded to include top shelf liquor. In November we were moved to The Ridge but our AI only included bottom shelf liquor which was fair as that is what we paid for. Both times that we were moved we were given something above what we paid for, Solmar always takes good care of their customers and employees. One of the few companies that paid their employees during the shutdown.
Loved our marina view as it was perfect for sitting on our balcony having a drink before dinner. Actually didn’t even have dinner at the resort any of our 4 nights as it was too fun to go out. Did eat breakfast 3 times at the Ridge pool and lunch once. Food was very good like all Solmar resorts as was the service. What we did like the best was how they prepare the fish that we caught. They always make such great sashimi out of our tuna and the presentation is amazing. We also caught wahoo this trip, it was so good the way it was seasoned and the sauces they brought out.
Loved the pool at the Ridge as it was very relaxing and music was not too loud to talk over. Views from here are amazing as you can see the Pacific, Medano Beach and the Marina. Great place to get away from the kids but if you do have kids there is a slide and lower pool they can use. You can also use Playa Grande which is set up very nicely for families. Don’t believe that you could go wrong at any of the Solmar resorts. Spoke to some of the timeshare owners here and they just love it. One had actually just bought an extra 70 weeks they go so much.

My family and I traveled here for my wife's birthday, and we could not have been more pleased with the entire experience. Everyone who works here is extremely friendly and provide great service to their guests. I would also like to give a special thanks to Gerardo, the indoor restaurant manager, and Ernesto, the outside restaurant manager, for planning out such a beautiful surprise for not only my wife, but my whole family. I had asked them if they had any deals for special events for my wife's birthday, and they told me to leave it to them, and not worry about it. They planned out a whole evening dinner on the beach under a beautiful pergola deck, with exceptional food, and private live music. They would constantly check on us to see if we needed anything, and were always extremely friendly. I would recommend anybody traveling to Cabo to go to them for any special needs. Sadly, because of the pandemic, we have not been able to travel this year, but if given the opportunity, my family and I would definitely be more than willing to take this trip over and over. I would also like to add, the service given in this establishment more than makes up for the price, and is extremely worth it. All in all, this trip was an amazing experience. We came here in July of 2019

We used our RCI time share and had a fabulous week here in Cabo at The Ridge. Gerardo at Reception was great to deal with and said we would be pleased with our room and we were not disappointed. We and our friends had a beautiful two bedroom suite overlooking the Marina with easy access to great restaurants and bars. The all inclusive option for three days was also fantastic. Juan and his colleagues were all very friendly and attentive making sure we were always looked after. Juan shared a mole recipe with us that was unbelievable.......wish we were still there in the infinity pool watching the whales play. What a great stay.......cannot wait to go back!!!

This review is for Samuel, Antonio, Pedro, Daniel, Andres, and Lillian! the service from them was beyond exceptional. Despite us being young adults they still tended to our needs making sure we were well kept at the sports bar, adult pool bar, and pool side service. Although we had issues with room maintenance within the resort- these quickly went away due to the service provided by these people. The service by these people made our time in Cabo memorable and we are looking forward to coming back and seeing them!!! GREAT STAFF!!!!!

We had a great time at the Ridge, the resort was impeccably clean, updated, beautiful, all with stunning views. The all inclusive food was fantastic! The best part was the service that we had, it made our trip so relaxing, fun and memorable. Martin and the staff was exceptional - Juanito and the ridge pool staff made sure we were taken care.of They were always very professional and attentive. The entertainment at the beach party and the fiesta were a blast! We laughed and really enjoyed both nights. We were glad we didn’t leave the resort... no need to! The staff at the restaurant at the beach blew us away, every night a extensive menu with options . Jose took care of us and really made us feel special! I agree with the suggestion to contact them prior to coming. They are very responsive and support your needs better if you contact them before you arrive. There are reserved umbrellas for Ridge folks at the beach end of the resort. When we were there, there were several available each time. The report on the roughness of the waves and serious currents keep all of out of the water for our own safety. Too many stories to not take that advice seriously. But there are other beaches you can go to for beach swimming.
There are more places to choose from in the Cabo San Lucas area.
