Reviews Summary
This summary was created by AI, based on recent reviews.

Paradisus Los Cabos delights many guests with its beachfront location and scenic views, though some raise concerns about the beach's cleanliness. While opinions on value vary, with the 'Reserve' upgrade seen as beneficial by some, the hotel's service receives mixed feedback, citing occasional slow responses. The rooms earn praise for their cleanliness and comfort, despite isolated maintenance issues. The resort's amenities, including a swimmable beach and diverse dining, are popular, though not without critiques of limited service. The atmosphere, noted for live entertainment and a cozy vibe, could use a refresh in places.

My husband and I arrived April 1,2024 And though I had tried to upgrade to a swim up room-the week before arriving- the front service desk informed me that if they could, it would be $300 US per night extra on top of my prepaid flight and hotel at $9472.00 CAN I was a bit upset to say the least So I contacted Westjet and they responded immediately that they would see what they could do for us. I went numerous days to the front desk Trying to enjoy our stay on our 40th wedding anniversary. One very blessed manager Patricia and her associate Maria Jose took care of us from that point! Upgraded our room, gave us reserve bracelets which allowed us access to upgrades of all kinds! As a person who is in the service industry, I have two locations of tracycakes bakery cafes, and 20 employees- so over and above service does not go unnoticed! Thanks Paradisus for employing so many wonderful staff and allowing us to enjoy- wonderful food, fantastic service and care and a room with a swim up pool! Our anniversary will always be special because we celebrated hat Paradisus!

Hotel's Favourite
We always have excellent service at Paradisus properties in Mexico. Usually it's just a few staff members that go above and beyond to help you live your best vacation life, but this time I ended up with a whole list who deserve a shout out. We are glad to be in Melia's Circle because we are always so impressed with the people who work at Paradisus in Mexico. The service is what you might expect at a much higher price point. Everyone is friendly, engaged, and obviously they take pride in aiming to create their guests' ultimate vacation experience. They even surprised us with an elegant welcome spread in our room on our first evening. From restaurant reservations to spa bookings to general questions, our concierge Luis Basilio helped make our visit seamless. Our room was flawless, although we would have liked to be closer to the Reserve lounge, which I found to be a great place to do work on my laptop with a gorgeous view in the background. The lounge also had some impressive coffee table books, delicious espresso, a friendly & accommodating bartender Hector, and a nice spread of snacks from before breakfast to after dinner. Anyway, our room was a beautiful space, made more luxurious by high vaulted ceilings because it was the top floor. The room was spacious, airy, and well-maintained: Surprisingly, EVERYTHING worked perfectly, including sliding door, its lock, air conditioner, sink drain, light switches, no light bulbs were out, all drawers opened smoothly, shower door sealed, no chipped paint, etc. Housekeeping was consistent, and we never got even remotely close to running out of bottled water or clean towels. My only criticism is the fan vent in the bathroom was a bit dirty and looked like it could use a wipe. Also, I was not terribly impressed with the quality of the bed linens. The shower helpfully features two heads & wands, allowing for a couple to shower together comfortably. Good temperature and pressure. The lighting in the sink area was soft and flattering rather than stark and jarring. Love the fluffy bathrobes. We enjoyed hanging by the main pool, which seemed to oscillate between periods of rest and activity (water aerobics, bumping Latin music). The cabanas available to Reserve guests were a shady refuge to relax in between dips, while reading, or napping. The Reserve pool was a little tame for our taste. We participated in sip & paint activity, and also I really enjoyed the pole fitness class with Dani (Danny?) by the pool. He was a great instructor and it was a great way to challenge myself on an otherwise relaxing trip. I also enjoyed several yoga sessions with a view of the beach. They have group yoga classes, but I rolled out my own mat and did my own practice anywhere I found a great view and didn't seem to be in the way. The gym was pretty cramped with equipment and did not have open space or a separate studio area for yoga/pilates/calisthenics. I enjoyed 2 spa treatments - a facial and a massage. My massage therapist was great, but my husband didn't like his therapist as much, so make sure you speak up about your preferences if you're going to spend the money. I do hope the resort invests in more/better live music and shows, perhaps performances at a bigger venue could create a more exciting atmostphere than upstairs by the lobby bar. For breakfast & lunch, we ate mostly at the Palapa in the rserve section, where Valentin & Ventura accommodated all sorts of special requests, made fabulous cappucinos, and humorously tolerated my husband practicing his Spanish. For dinner, we went to our favorite, Tokimeku, twice, where Manuel took great care of us. We also enjoyed Sal steakhouse, where we had extremely polished service and great discussion about wine with Benjamin. La Palapa had some really great dishes for dinner as well; Salvador our waiter was fantastic, although the kitchen was slow that night. Ciel was also delicious; Santiago made sure we had everything we needed and made a great recommendation on my husband's main course. We did not try the Italian Cappella, in order to hit Tokimeku a second time :D Hugo, the sommelier, enhanced dinner throughout our stay with some excellent wines. From French to Californian to Mexican, they were each thoughtful and lively selections. After we complained about the slow dinner at La Palapa, immediately followed by slow service at Gabi the next day for lunch, it seemed like they sent Marco, a food & beverage manager, to shadow our following meals. He cerainly is en effective leader, because everything was on point after that, and we appreciated management's eagerness and ability to correct course. This was a truly gorgeous resort, probably the second most impressive Melia property we've stayed at (after Gran Palacio Isora in Tenerife). We loved the imaginative landscaping, a combination between dessert (cacti) and tropical (plumeria, jatropha). Can't wait to come back!

From the inability to manage food allergies/preferences, to a broken toilet that despite multiple repeated visits stayed broken (I did tell them repeatedly to change the seat as the hinge portion was damaged). Paradisus was anything but idyllic. The food everywhere was disappointing as heck. The only time anyone took an interest in getting my food restrictions appropriate was a gentleman named Luis at Sante. Every single other restaurant was a major letdown. Room service would be better off not existing. The quality of the food is akin to Chef Boyardee and microwaved pizza. The Circle Club offer is hilariously overpriced and given the service, incredibly poor value. For the price per night we paid I’d never stay at another Melia property ever again. At half the rate this resort would still not be worth wasting your money on.

Karina at Tokimeku was delightful. She was very attentive, food was quick to come, and she had plenty of recommendations to provide. Recommend the shrimp tempura, gyozas, and shrimp niguiri. The outside patio spot was also a nice little oasis.

I like to share the pros and cons of each of the places I visit... Pros: - the staff - for the most part - friendly, kind, attentive - the only exception would be some of the front desk staff could be more friendly at times (hit or miss). Staff that were worthy of special note here for their wonderful service: - Jamie - our concierge - friendly, helpful - went out of his way and reserved a dinner at a Cabo restaurant for my daughter's birthday - Andres - our pool concierge - a nice, helpful, friendly young man who always had a smile on his face - Pedro at the Asian restaurant - a kind and helpful man who was a pleasure to talk with - Kevin - a Sante server (we had him for one breakfast in the reserve and he went out of his way to make me a smoked salmon bagel that was not on the menu - Mariska - the greeter at the morning buffet and Aqua Marine restaurant - kind, friendly and helpful - a gentleman server at the Aqua Marine restaurant - I'm sorry but I forget his name - he was kind, funny - when I asked about a drink when I went by another table, he not only told me what it was but made one for me 'to go' - the beach was beautiful and swimmable despite being 'red-flagged' every day (not sure why) - the grounds of the resort are beautiful, well-maintained and clean - it is not a huge resort so easy to walk around - bands playing in the evenings were very good and fun - the only exception may be the latin band that played music that was not familiar to most - the food at the dinner restaurants was different and delicious - the Ginger bar served great drinks - the coffee and ice cream shops were nice to have - the Aqua Marine restaurant on the water was beautiful and open during the day till 6 p.m. - the 'food truck' was fun and had good food by the pool - the room was 'fine' - not great and not bad - bedding was nice and the room was very quiet. Also, we were top floor and had a clear railing so we could see the ocean while seated - my daughter's room however, had a concrete railing so she had to stand to see the ocean Cons: - the temperature of the main pool - way TOO COLD for this time of the year - this particular con would keep me from going to this resort again at any time other than maybe summer - lack of entertainment in the evenings - after the bands finished there was nothing else to do; there was a fire-show one night that we only knew of because we happened to be in the Ginger bar and heard the music (otherwise we would not have known it was happening) - lack of activity during the day - other than a couple of days of pool exercises (pool too cold to go in), there was nothing else going on (there may have been 9 a.m. yoga but I am not sure); there are no pool or ping pong tables, etc. if that is something that you like to do during the day - there were a few kids at the resort on several days - a family with a baby was at the pool area a couple of days Recommendations: - it's a small thing but perhaps install hooks in the public ladies' washrooms for hanging a purse/bag - initiate more activity during the day Rooms3.0Service5.0Location5.0

The resort is beautiful. The views of the sea are stellar once you get past the pool. Rooms are very nice and remarkably quiet for a big resort! Rooms are very clean and people are accommodating. The pros: Raul and Pedro at the Asian restaurant made the trip extra special. They were very attentive and the food was delicious. They made us feel special and made us smile. Thank you Raul and Pedro! The cons: the wine, beer and drinks, as well as the other restaurants are mediocre at best. Definitely not as good as was expected for the price. Reservations required for dinner at any location was a real bummer. Limited drink service at the pool was very peculiar. Overall I would not come back. But Pedro and Raul were the shining stars of our stay. Thank you Cabo!

My first time to Cabo and it’s a beautiful area. I was surprised to see children every day at the “Adult Only” resort ! Food was average and having to make a reservation Every night in the 3 restaurants available was a pain. Room service was fast, but always cold food. The wine was awful, skunked and all the whites were more tart/sour than anything. The elevator was broken the entire stay at the building 1. They also had construction going right next to our balcony. The room was large and well appointed. The bed was fine and everything worked. The pool was beautiful but freezing cold. I think I got in once to my knees and got out in minutes. I’m so glad we didn’t upgrade to The Reserve, they were all with us commoners poolside, having the same underwhelming experience.

Dear Robyn J, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your feedback. It is wonderful to hear that you enjoyed the spaciousness and appointments of your room, and found satisfaction in our prompt room service, despite the temperature of the dishes not meeting your expectations. We are also delighted to know that you found the pool area to be beautiful, a true testament to the harmonious and tropical ambiance we strive to maintain. We regret to hear about the issues you encountered with the elevator and the unexpected construction noise. We always aim to maintain a relaxed and inviting atmosphere, and it seems we missed the mark during your stay. While the pool temperature was not to your liking, our heated pool options are designed to provide a more carefree and comfortable swimming experience. We apologize for any confusion regarding the adult-only areas; we are transitioning to an adults-only resort and appreciate your patience during this change. Lastly, we are mindful of your feedback regarding the food and wine selection. Our culinary team is dedicated to providing a sophisticated and diverse range of dining options, and we regret that we did not meet your expectations on this occasion. We look forward to seeing you again on a future occasion. Best regards, Monica Olmos, Guest Experience Manager

My husband and I went to Paradisus Los Cabos for a quick getaway and had a wonderful time. The resort grounds are clean, well maintained, and all their staff (cleaning, pool, restaurant, reception, shops, bartenders) were polite, helpful, and always greeted us. Room - we had a king junior garden suite view. Nothing extravagant but spacious enough for two people with a cute balcony view of the cactus garden, birds, and partial ocean view. We did see whales breaching from our balcony which was amazing. We had one instance where our whole room electrical went down but it was fixed within an hour. Food - pretty decent food for the variety of dishes/flavors they provide. We tried Celia, Capella, Tokimeku, and Aqua Marina and liked them all. Tokimeku was the better restaurant out of the 4. We loved the cafe and ice cream shop! The food truck was fun to check out while hanging out by the pool, a good spot to grab a snack! Drinks - we loved the all inclusive drinks (from beers to cocktails, mocktails, smoothies, juice), but it seemed like some kind of sweetner was always added to drinks. Also, it's hard to get straight up juices without added in sparkling water, maybe that is just how it's done in Cabo. Pool - standard pool, a bit on the chilly side, but that's what a pool is, to hang out in. Beach - cute little beach, nothing to take home about but a total bonus. Events - not too much going on at night which we were ok. We enjoyed the live music and the fire performance show. Crowd - mainly older to younger couples, a few people younger than 21 were at the resort which isn't a problem. We saw maybe 1-3 kids during our stay but didn't bother us. The reason for 4 star and not 5 was because the check in process was incredibly slow and not straightforward. There was only one receptionist working when we got there, and we were told to 'wait' until our turn, and receptionist never got to us and started addressing other customers. When we did get checked in, we weren't assigned a room number and a personal concierge and were told to 'recheck-in' again to obtain those two items. The concierge was also kind of useless. He made it seem like he could help us get this and that, reserve cabanas, restaurants, but he booked us restaurants at times that didn't work for us and even when the restaurant was closed. He also hesitated to book us a cabana in advance so we never got one but it wasn't difficult to get a pool seat with an umbrella. All in all, it was a good experience and we'd come back to visit again!

Dear A4751PCkw, Many thanks for having taken the time to review your stay. We are thrilled to hear you enjoyed the spaciousness and the charming views from your suite, where nature's splendor, including our tropical cactus garden and the majestic sea, provides an inspiring backdrop. It is wonderful to know that the whale sightings added a touch of magic to your stay. Our team is always striving to deliver sophisticated luxury and we are delighted that the variety of cuisines at our restaurants tickled your taste buds, with Tokimeku standing out as a favorite. Your feedback regarding the check-in experience and the concierge service is invaluable. We are mindful of our guests' time and comfort, and it seems we did not meet our own high standards in this instance. Rest assured, this is not indicative of the carefree, elegant service we aim to provide. It is heartening to know that you found the grounds inviting and our staff's services respectful and harmonious with the relaxed atmosphere we cherish. Your kind words about the cafe, ice cream shop, and the pool's relaxed ambiance are truly appreciated. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again. All the best. Paradisus Los Cabos is a literal joke. One star is waaay too many. The service and property are so bad you might as well stay at a Motel 6 with beach access. The food was awful in every restaurant; served COLD, no flavor, over-cooked in most instances. It’s so bad the guest are forced to go off property to find suitable dining accommodations, even the staff can’t find a good thing to say or a recommendation on property of anything pleasing to the palette. It wouldn’t be bad if their drinks were good, but they are weak and they use the cheapest mixes for margaritas and pina coladas so the drink is gritty with a horrible after taste. Even in THE RESERVE area where they brag about premium alcohol and stocked bars in your room… we received none of it. We are on day 3 of 5 here and still don’t have the dedicated concierge we were promised as a part of THE RESERVE PACKAGE, we didn’t get VIP check-in, or the private tour of the property (which is so small that you couldn’t get lost if you wanted to). We had to book all of our own reservations so far and even get our own car services to go off property. Don’t bother paying for an upgraded room or suite, every room on the property is the same. Nothing special about Reserve… they say it’s the view, but to be honest the garden view gives you just as much view of the ocean as you would have if you were in an ocean view room. The RESERVE lounge has food that has literally been sitting out ALL DAY long, the area is not maintained or cleaned all day. I went in for peace and quiet to journal first thing in the morning and couldn’t find a clean table or place to write and no one was in a hurry to clean and prepare for the guests. The desk staff are rude and unconcerned. Check-in is a frustrating and cumbersome process and does not make you feel welcomed. The male staff are so busy flirting and asking for your phone number that they can’t do their jobs and follow thru. I communicated with the staff for one month prior to coming to the property and should have cancelled based on their non-responsiveness and their inability to follow through on answering questions and calling back. We arrived without the upgrades or special requests being fulfilled and none of the reservations being booked. With all of this not one staff member has taken ownership or apologized for the experience we’ve had and they continue to drop the ball. Please save your money and stay somewhere else.

It is disheartening to learn that some aspects of your stay did not meet your expectations. We take pride in our commitment to luxury and sophisticated service, and it seems we fell short during your visit. We are also mindful of your dining experience and regret to hear that it did not reflect the high standards of our authentic cuisine. Our team strives to provide inviting and harmonious spaces, and your feedback regarding the Reserve lounge cleanliness will be taken into consideration as we continually seek to enhance our guest's experience. Please rest assured that our guest's comfort is paramount, and while we respectfully acknowledge your feelings, we are surprised to hear your take on the Reserve as our intention is always to deliver an experience that is both inspiring and exclusive. We hope we can provide you with an improved stay in the future. Kind regards, Monica Olmos, Guest Experience Manager
