Always try and beeline here when down in South Hams. Love the views from the hotel and the oldy worldy feeling inside and the staff are excellent. The Seafood Platter was divine just as I remembered and it was a pleasure to go back again. The service is second to none and it is a joy to be there.

We had their cream tea (one shared between two - how can people eat a whole one!!?). They were lovely. The staff were attentive, service-minded, generous, polite and very competent. Super view. Lovely ambience. This is absolutely top stuff.

We had lunch here after a walk from Thurlston on a sunny day. Had one crab sandwich and one smoked salmon sandwich on brown, absolutely delicious!! Plus a drink each. Lovely view from a room which at some point recently has been extended/opened up, with large windows. This hotel is like going back in time, but in a nice way!...

Wonderful hotel, with amazing views and a great 5 course dinner. Also no single supplement for those prepared to stay in rooms at the rear of the hotel. I travelled with an Austin 7 club and they looked after our group superbly. Special arrangements made for the group to eat together etc and plenty of help with places to go...

All the other guests I met at this beautifully located hotel were returning guests, and you could quickly see why. There was a lovely atmosphere, the staff were friendly, helpful and happy and the views from the lounge/bar and restaurant were spectacular. The lounge had clearly been recently completely refitted with lovely furniture and drapes, very modern and complimentary to...

I have had the best cream tea ever today at The Cottage Hotel. The most delicious home-made scones, served warm, with lashings of fresh clotted cream and fruity strawberry jam-what a treat ! I thoroughly recommend this lovely experience in such a wonderful setting. Such excellent value, too.We will be back !

Spent 3 nights here. Weather was wonderful. The hotel is right in the Cove and has fabulous views. All the staff at this family run hotel were friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. The bedrooms were clean and modern. Lots of areas to relax with the paper or with a drink. Would definitely book here again.
