Located conveniently in walking distance from downtown San Jose yet in a beautiful surrounding of University of Costa Rica hotel and café provides itself unique experiences. Closeness to the university allows Cracovia café and the hotel Ave del Paraiso to attract intellectual and artisan crowd. If you are an average tourist interested in having a good time in San Jose,...

If you have the chance, stay here! Rooms are neat, spacious clean and quiet. Reasonably priced as well! Breakfast was excellent! There are very interesting, colorful "decorations" around the hotel that are a must see!

We stayed again at Hotel Ave Del Paraiso, this time in room #20 and again it was nice. We were prepared this time with mosquito spray, but it was much cooler and a different room so this time it wasn't needed. We really love the convienance of this hotel, being so close to the San Pedro Mall and other stores.

I booked this hotel for its location near the University, and the city center some 40 minutes walk away. It was also very reasonably priced, compared to anything in the area. It did not disappoint in any respect. The people at the reception desk was always happy to assist with any issue, and my inability to speak Spanish produced a...

Stayed here for 1 week in October 2015 for business with UCR. Hotel is located right next to main UCR campus. For running or walking, there is a green painted section of the main road that is about 1.12 miles for 1 lap. The gates to campus do not open until 7AM on Sundays. The exercise room at the hotel...

We arrived at the hotel a bit early and our room was ready. The check-in process was really fast. This is an eco hotel so don't expect A/C (not needed since temp was around 65-70s F), or any luxury hotel amenities. Room had all basics, and bed was comfy to sleep in. Bugs weren't a problem in the room, on...

The hotel is very charming on the outsie, but.... Room twenty one is a suite with a sitting area, small kitchen, small bedroom and ample bathroom which has been modernized. The remaining parts of the suite, although very clean, need to be modernized as well. Breakfast was plentifull and the reception staff was warm and friendly. Our biggest problem was...

Gorgeous tile work and metal sculptures everywhere. Within walking distance from the San Pedro Mall and the Cinimas. Quaint rooms, wonderful breakfast. We stayed in room number three, small but no screens on the windows, so we had to keep the bathroom and bedroom windows closed the whole time to keep out the numerous Mosquitos which made it pretty stuffy...

We arrived here from La Fortuna on our way out of Costa Rica and stayed over for our flight the next day. From the street, the hotel looked closed. But around back through the security gate we found a welcoming little lobby. The employees there didn't seem to speak English but we got by with our intermediate level Spanish. San...

Beautiful, clean, astonishing view! Good breakfast and great price. It is not luxury but it's so pretty! If you're looking for an exotic experience, this is it, if you want comfort this is not a good choice. The hotel is very basic, but is so beautiful that is worth it.

“The wifi is iffy. Strongly recommend the superior room which was $88 a night plus tax. Rooms farther back are probably quieter. Street noise usually bothers me, but it was not an issue in our room. I slept better than at home.”
