Pros: cleaner than most, spacious, decently well-equipped, friendly staff, comfortable beds.
Cons: poor room lighting, poor internal decorations, prices don't include taxes, small TVs, small beds, rooms not very well ventilated (thus developing a funny smell, not too bothersome though).
The grounds were decorated with some fantastic sculptures when we recently stayed at the hotel. The combination of sculptures, the lovely murals and other art works gave the hotel a very special ambiance. The hotel's architecture and gardens made it even prettier.

Rooms are surprisingly quiet. Staff were very helpful. Rooms are simple but clean. Breakfast was free and provided a nice assortment of options.

There is a courtyard with a grassy area and some artwork and there is a picnic table where you could sit outside and read. There is also an outdoor patio with some tables and chairs next to the breakfast area where you could sit. There is a lot of open space so I think you could probably find a spot to enjoy the nice weather. Also if you walk out of the hotel parking lot and turn left, it is a very short walk to the main campus for UCR and there are lots of grassy areas, benches, etc. to enjoy on campus. To find out about the cancellation policy, I would advise that you email the hotel directly. They were prompt in replying to my questions prior to our trip.
