Virrey de Mendoza is a colonial masterpiece situated in the center of this beautiful city. The lobby area is absolutely stunning to see and the room was perfectly clean, comfortable and pleasantly modernized. The location could not be any better, directly across from the zocalo. The staff is friendly and the complimentary breakfast was delicious.

This hotel is indeed elegant and has a ton of charm as is noted in other reviews. The lobby is gorgeous - large yet cozy - with a lovely little bar off the side. The rooms have enormously high ceilings, ample furniture, modern televisions, and stunning views of the cathedral and plaza. I thought the beds were really comfortable, but...

This is a character hotel, not a luxury hotel and the impression somewhat surpasses the reality. An old (1744) seigniorial mansion transformed into a hotel sometime during the first half of the twentieth century, it’s immediate grandeur prepares you for something that just doesn’t happen - behind the guestroom doors it’s all downhill. The good: great location facing the Zacolo,...

This is a beautiful old hotel in the middle of the Centro Historico in Morelia Mexico. The rooms were quite large with modern bathrooms. The public areas are beautiful. We found the staff were outstanding and could't do enough to help the members of our large group of family and friends, who were there for a wedding. Not everyone spoke...

A charming hotel from which to go see the winter migration of the Monarch butterflies! Others have attested to its terrific old world ambience. But if you couple it with a visit to the butterflies then it is a terrific three night stay. Just walk across the street to the Tourist Info and make arrangements. Ask for Hector! English and...

An old traditionally Spanish style hotel with some lovely features. My room was comfortable and although the fittings were dated they all worked. The menu is varied with a good selection of Mexican and European food. Service from everyone was excellent and I was made to feel very welcome. There is a lift which is good because the grand staircase...

The location is perfect. We found the bedroom quite hot, and the fan a bit noisy and old. But the shower is very good. We went just for two days only, so no serious complain. The price is right. The continental breakfast is fine, but who likes the Expresso coffee, will pay separately. The laundry service very correct, and not...

Just returned from another wonderful trip to Morelia Mexico....as the Lonely Planet Mexico travel book claims "the coolest place you've never been." The Virrey de Mendoza is located on a corner of Plaza de Armas with a beautiful view of the main Cathedral from it's outdoor cafe under the Portico and from the rooms facing the Plaza. Be sure to...

We traveled by car from Manzanillo, arriving a little early for check in, but were pleased to have the valet accept our car and the reception staff permit us access to our room a little early. Our room was large and comfortable but had only a very tiny window - we expected as much as we were in the least...
