I have stayed in the Virrey de Mendoza, Morelia 4 times prior to this visit and have always been satisfied. This time I reserved a room with two double beds as I was sharing the room with friends. The room that they gave us was an interior room, which is common in Mexico, and arrived to find that neither the...

The hotel is very well located and is kept in pristine conditions. The staff is polite and the rooms are neat and cozy The building is perfect for taking pictures, most of the areas reflect the beautiful architecture and style from the colonial times, the skylight above the front desk and restaurant is simply spectacular and right across the street...

The Hotel Virrey de Mendoza, located on the main square in Morelia Mexico is a beautiful hotel, old but restored with modern bathrooms. Gorgeous stained glass ceiling (shown in photo.) Reasonably priced and courteous staff. Free valet parking is a plus. (One needs a car to make the scenic drive to the butterfly reserve about 3 hours away.)

Decided to overnight in Morelia while attending Morelia en Boca (Food and Wine Festival) and happened onto Hotel Virrey de Mendoza. It's in a great location, adjacent to the city center. It is within walking distance to all the attractions. Upon arrival you are made to feel special from all the employees. The lobby is spectacular. It's a grand open...

I've stayed at this historic hotel before and would happily recommend it again to anyone wanting to be in central Morelia across the street from the Plaza and one block from the Cathedral. Beautiful lobby with stained-glass ceiling and large rooms with comfortable beds and good bathrooms. The restaurant is good and a delicious authentic Mexican breakfast buffet is offered...

It's sad to criticize this property, since it is in an absolutely wonderful historic building & has spectacular public spaces. Unfortunately, I would not return as a hotel guest, & would liimit my visits to the bar & restaurant, in order to enjoy the hotel's unmatched colonial atmosphere. Stayed here 4 prior times over 10+ years, & have witnessed the...

Just returned from a warm, sunny and wonderful vacation to Morelia/Patzcuaro and Uruapan. In Morelia we had the great pleasure to stay at the Hotel Virrey de Mendosa. The location can't be beat, right on the Plaza de Armas which is the center of the historic district. The Hotel is made of stone with a center courtyard lobby covered by...

Staying in this hotel is to experience the charms of Colonial Mexico. It is beautifully appointed with wonderful antique furniture, portraits from another era, and a strained glass atrium ceiling in the lobby to die for. The rooms are spacious and generously furnished. The American breakfast which you can add to the room is worth every penny, and the dining...
