We loved this site. We came as an extended family and Rose accommodated us very well. She and her staff made it feel like home including their hospitality. I especially like how she has taken extra care in decorating each room. All the touches were comforting. We would definitely recommend to others!

Casona Rosa is nestled in the historic area of Morelia. It is a short walk to the Morales museum and birth place, both especially well done and informative. It is only a few more blocks to the main plaza, cathedral and artisans museum. I stayed only two nights but would have enjoyed a longer visit, especially to have time to...

Located near the action, this quaint and comfortable lodging offers everything you need to make you feel at home away from home. The breakfast is wonderful, staff are very helpful and friendly, and the accommodations are colorful and festive. Also the rooms are very quiet and we felt like we were the only ones staying there although we weren't. The...

She is the great mother of Casona Rosa. Always ready for a tip on eating, seeing and experiencing. This is indeed the cultural center of Mexico and Rose is a...

This is the second time I have stayed at Casona Rosa. The location is great. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. The other guests are interesting so breakfast time is fun. What is different this time is that Rosa is starting to create a cultural center for Michoacan. Morelia is a good jumping off place for seeing the rest...

This place has lots of character with beautiful Mexican art and textiles.,part of the building is 16th century, highly recommend. Library and TV for when you want to chill. Rosa and staff will go out of their way to assist you with information and tours in the region.

Surrounded by art, artists, thinkers, fascinating fellow travelers of all sorts and a welcoming hostess, anyone who spends a night (or several) here finds herself/himself in the heart of Morelia (both culturally and geographically). Rose herself takes a personal interest in helping you fulfill your travel dreams...or in finding rest in her fantastically appointed rooms. Each visit to Casona Rosa...

It is hard to describe our stay(s) with Rose and the wonderful people of Casona Rosa. It's become more like visiting best friends. I've read all the reviews and wholeheartedly agree with everyone -- words are hard to come by to capture the magic of the place --right in the middle of the historical city of Morelia. Rose makes sure...

Casona Rosa had a warm, welcoming atmosphere, lively conversations with the English speaking proprietess and other guests. The breakfasts were amazing. Rose arranged everything from an excellent driver/guide for 2 days of sightseeing and exploring to helping arrange for lodging in the next city we visited -- all with a smile and great humor. She supports the local population of...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Guests have said~while staying at Casona Rosa they have the feeling they're in a private hide-out of Frida Kahlo. Casona Rosa is an inn just two blocks from the main street and Morelia's famous pink cathedral. It is a romantic, intimate place to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. There are 4 suites each with private bathroom and 2 rooms with shared bathroom; access to a large, fully-equipped kitchen; plus several in and outdoor sitting areas. The suites are situated around an outdoor patio area for relaxing. Much attention was paid to decorating each suite with locally made handcrafts. Check out our Facebook page (La Casona Rosa Morelia) for updates on the latest Casona happenings...Enjoy and "Viva la vida!" ... more   less
