Just a few blocks from the central plaza the location of this hostel in good. It's housed in an orignial colonial building with all rooms upstairs surrounding a central courtyard. The dorm was not the best I've seen for a number of reasons. It felt a bit too crowded at times with 20 beds in total (if I counted right)....

1 night at the Hostel + Nice service, speaks English + great location, 3 blocks from Zocalo + great place to meet other backpackers + good to party (many clubs with live bands) - dorm has 20 beds instead of 8 - bathroom is inside the sleeping dorm - beds squeak terribly

Stayed here for two nights in a private room. Room was very large with high ceilings and one double and one single bed. Bathroom was good size aswell with plenty of hot water. You need to have your own towel, or rent one from the hostel for 40p (35p returned on checkout). Breakfast included in price with toast, cereal, coffee,...

I traveled with my brother and sister to see the high country of Mexico. Our first stop was Hostel Santo Domingo, the only problem, American Airlines had lost our luggage! Carlos, Maria and Cassob must have made at least two dozen calls in order to find our luggage. We were scheduled to spend two days there, but stayed three. On...

Clean, well-groomed hostel. It's 5 minute walking from the zocalo in a safe area. Room was big and clean, basin was in the room but this was not a problem for us. Breakfast is included but it's a little poor! Price is very good! We really reccomend this hostel

i stayed at the hostal santo domingo in december 2007. while it is conveniently located to the markets, shopping, and the zocalo, i had numerous concerns with the hostal. the dormitory rooms, in my opinion, are crowded: too many beds in a room. as well, i was initially told that the room i stayed in was female only; however, during...

I just spent 3 nights at the Hostal Santo Domingo. It is located about 5 blocks from the Zocalo in a safe, clean, convenient area of the Centro Historico. The staff were friendly and helpful. I had a private room with ensuite bathroom that was excellent! High ceilings, hardwood floors, skylight, 2 beds (one of which was actually comfortable -...

The Hostal Santo Domingo is a bare, but spacious, bright and quiet place. My room had two enormous beds (actually the bed was the most comfortable I have slept in two months' travel in Mexico), with a small TV, but no remote, and a bathroom constructed inside the room (as I say, a very spacious room). This is a no-frills...
