The Gurnard's Head is an oasis of hospitality and superb seafood on a wild and romantic coastline with an absolutely delightful team of young and exceptionally helpful staff who handle any question with the utmost charm and are of the very highest standard you expect to find in a wonderfully remote location like this. The setting is fabulous and the...

...the service was so slow but if the communication had been better we would probably have stayed. As it was we sat and sat and sat and when we decided we had had enough and got up to leave they said it was our turn to have our order taken. Sadly we felt the lack of communication had dampened our...

Thank you for feeding this back to us. You're absolutely right about engaging our guests so that expectations are managed. It's normally something we do pretty well, but it sounds as if we missed a beat during your visit. Since then, we've spent the winter wisely really trying to make sure we are in a position to get this kind...

We have been to the Gurnard's Head many times in the last 10 years, including our honeymoon - we will continue to return. If you like outstanding food and excellent wine, service that is so good you don't realise it is happening, and a relaxed non-pretentious atmosphere , then this might be the place for you. The location is our...

So pleased you've had another good stay with us. You seem to have put your finger on some of the things we think really important about this special location: thank you so much.

We've been here several times and the simple reason is that the food is great, the wine list excellent and the surroundings about as chilled and relaxed as you'd want. Great staff- not too overbaring, laid back but helpful. For a two night break away from everything on the Cornish Coast this place is hard to beat.

This is one of the best places I ate at during a recent visit to Cornwall. It's a proper pub with interesting contemporary pictures and artefacts. Food was excellent together with proper service. Ambiance was lovely. Loved it will go back.

Three night stay on the bed, breakfast and dinner deal. Second stay. This is a great pub/restaurant with rooms. A great bar and really good food. The menu is short which is a good thing (although can get a bit repetitive if you stay longer than a night). Great supply of local beers and an equally good wine list! Rooms...

Thank you for feeding this back to us. Very happy you had a good time and we appreciate you being understanding about the other group: our experience is that not everyone else is in such circumstances. Do hope we will see you again soon.

We love this part of the world and have driven past many times but this was our first stay. The room was comfortable and with a view of the road although there was not traffic noise until we were woken by the cows being taken out to pasture in the morning! Food was great both nights and breakfast delicious with...

Stayed at The Gurnards Head for one night at the end of February on their DB&B winter offer. Can't wait for next winter!! For a start Zennor seems wonderfully remote and wild .. it really does feel like you have got away from it all! (Even though we only live an hours drive away) There is something immediately homely and...

My word, it's so lovely to hear when a guest has an experience which sums up everything we want The Gurnard's to be. I'm so pleased and really grateful for you taking the time to write down your thoughts. I hope that any return visit is just as good.

Beautiful setting and fantastic food. The Sunday lunch was excellent coupled with a great table by the real fire on a sunny but chilly March day. The beef and lamb we had was very good and the dessert we shared was fantastic.(toffee pudding with butterscotch sauce & clotted cream ice cream) The service was relaxed but professional well done to...

Had a fabulous lunch there today. Fantastic setting against a very rural background. Bit of rallying round the country lanes, but definitely worth all the gear changes. Very simple and focussed menu and opted for the duck parfait with apple chutney, roast beef with all the trimmings including cauliflower cheese and Yorkshire pudding. To top it all off was homemade...
