The stay in the hotel was wonderful - the grounds are lovely with a very relaxed and happy feel to the whole place and the staff were all very friendly. We just had room and breakfast so didn't eat that much in the hotel but all the food that we had was excellent. The rooms were were excellent - a little bit tired in some parts, but then that's the case for every big hotel that i've stayed in and they were well cleaned every day. The public areas were all well maintained and cleaned. There is a bit of a hike down the stairs to the attached beach club (Cocos) but there is a shuttle bus if you don't feel up to it. I'd 100% go back there and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to family and friends

"We took a taxi to" Villa Sol Beach Club " to spend yesterday afternoon & enjoy the facilities as they looked very inviting on line with the admission of 300 pesos each When we arrived at the Vila Sol Beach Club we were told it was 600 pesos per person and we were not allowed to use any of the loungers around the pool or on the beach. But, we could sit at a table beside the pool. The staff member only spoke Spanish and should have been wearing a mask as she was constantly rubbing her nose with her fingers. The only positive comment is she did call us a taxi after I had asked and the taxi arrived very quickly as we could not leave the premises soon enough. Beware!

This is the loudest hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Good luck sleeping. Doors slam at all hours of the night, the hotel staff walks about with walkie talkies on full volume all night, and the maids come by at 8am so if you manage to fall asleep at all you get woken up. They have bright lights on the sides of the hotel so the rooms are bright all night long, bring a sleep mask.I included a photo for reference that is 2am. (I usually take Americans reviews with a grain of salt because I’m an avid traveler and have stayed at some 1star/ 2star places but my god this was a disappointment ) The hotel is not on the beach as the photos indicate(catfish), there is a beach club which is a drive away from their hotel. The beach club is nice, but they also have it open to the public so anyone can pay to go meaning chairs are impossible to find. You have to chase down service to get a drink and they will watch you like a hawk thinking you will leave without paying. There is no swim up bar. Don’t be fooled. The images of the room I booked had two beds and a balcony but they tried to put us in a single bed room and then when we asked for two beds they said sorry no balcony, it also shows on our res via booking.com we got free breakfast but we didn’t and it’s $140 pesos a person, they have a sign that says $40 but it’s for an omelet station (catfish) The hotel doesn’t not have transportation, they have a van that sits there but that’s it. You also can’t charge things to your room even though we asked if we could and they said yes. But everywhere you go they ask for the number. You can’t change out any money at the hotel and we had to schedule our COVID tests and got 3 different answers. Finally I just called the place myself and they let me know the hotel in fact did not schedule it as they said they did. They changed the WiFi on us and didn’t notify us so that wasn’t convenient either. It far from everything and I would not recommend staying here. The best part was the 2x1 happy hour and the food at the restaurant was great! Mole was to die for and the restaurant staff was WONDERFUL!

My wife and I decided to make a spur of the moment visit to Puerto Escondido earlier this month. We selected Hotel Villasol as it seemed to be in the right price range, location and had availability. Checkin was very slow, even though the hotel didn’t seem overly crowded and it was almost 4PM before we had keys to a room. As excepted the room was small and tucked away at the end of a hall with no balcony and only 1 window. It was clean, had a working Tv and the beds were firm but comfortable. Breakfast was included in the morning and was not spectacular by any means, but good. The pool and surrounding area was very nice. Shaded with sufficient loungers and again, not busy. The highlight of this hotel in our opinion is the beach club. A short walk or shuttle van away. It was extremely nice with 2 pools, manicured grounds, a restaurant, bar and lounge service. Any shortcomings in the hotel were made up for here. Very nice and relaxing. I would recommend this hotel for families and travellers looking for economical, clean accommodation.

I wish I could get a negative star to this hotel. I am outraged! I have stayed in this hotel 2 out of 9 nights in October 2021 and had to cancel our stay because of a funeral. The hotel agreed to cancel a reservation, promised to refund, asked to wait 15 days (it's their policy ) and now it is January 2022 and I am calling every day for weeks now to resolve this issue. One day a person tells me that the refund is approved and they need an email with my address for the refund to be wired. Many emails with all the information were sent. The next day nobody speaks English. The next day the person doesn't know anything about this situation. The next day I need to call back. The next day and the excuses are endless. Why is this so difficult? I made a mistake of not canceling with booking.com, trusted the hotel staff. And now $1000 of refund, that has been approved, is still not wired. I mean, what kind of dishonest place this is?

There are more cons than pros about this place unfortunately. Nice amenities, good enough internet to have your video calls but it all gets ruined by customer service. I've been here 4 times and got disappointed each time because they change rules and make you pay for it. There is no way you can track the rules either. Initially I came here to relax and enjoy myself in a comfortable space. Unfortunately everytime I tried to do this, one of their employees would come up to me and haggle me for one thing or another. First they let you in without buying a day pass but not using a pool. Second time they tell you can't do it and you in have to pay for the day pass. The day pass price changes on a daily basis whenever they want. Regardless, each time I have been there I spent over 500 pesos which is more than their daily pass. I think I deserve some loyalty but instead I have been treated like a thief, been told that I stole their towel because my place at stay is also using the same type and color of towel. Also, when I went with a friend here, they acted like dictators on where we could rest on which lounge chair. It had to be next to each other no spaces in between even through there was NOBODY around. Every time I felt like I'm under surveillance. You get the point. There is so much I can take so my last time I stood up and left. Never coming back again.

We so sorry to read your review about your experience in our Club all your comments has been already copy to our management, and we are working with our personal to give you the best attention during your visit. Reading about your uncomforts, I could say that this is a confusion with our acces tariff, from Monday to Thursday we have a tariff of 300 mexican pesos and minimum consume to use the swim pool end the facilities on weekends 400 mexican pesos from Friday to Sunday, also if you consume more than this quantities inside restaurant Pez gallo, you you can use our facilities. We hope you could give us a second chance to know us better, if you live here you can get one of our membership and have access to our club daily without minimum consume, we have biannual plans, quarterly plans and annual plans.

The beaches of PE are splendid but we had our visits to Carizalillo and Manzanillo ruined by loud boom box music. There is nothing the restaurant owners there can or will do. This is why we spent 3 days at Villasol Beach club. Friendly staff, sparkling showers and bathrooms, beautiful grounds. If you are having lunch and a few drinks price is same as beach chairs on a rowdy public beach. Definitely worth it. Family friendly and tranquil. Class act! Thank you!

The hotel is located about 10 minutes walk (there is also a shuttelt that goes every 30 minutes) to the Bacocho beach where the hotel offers a fantastic beach club. The hotel has simple rooms (make sure you reserve a refurbished room) and nice area with pool, but we spent almost all the time at the beach club and on the beack. The hotel is located in a calm area and the Bacocho beach is not crowded, very different from the crowded Zicatel area and beach.

The hotel itself is very nice. Pool area is great. Now our room....I saw the hotel on an online travel site and the price was good so we had our taxi drop us off. I asked the front desk how much for a room (I prefer to book directly with the hotel if possible) and she quoted me a price way higher than online. So of course I sat down and booked the room online. I don't know if this irritated the staff because the room they gave us was not good. Room 514. 1. Bed is horrible. You can feel the springs. Pillows were comfy. 2. Curtains are thin which is fine if you do not have a giant street light shining in the window directly onto the beds. 3. Loud vehicle traffic all night that would continually wake you up... if you managed to fall asleep. The good about the room is the A/C worked great and they proved a pitcher for water that they will fill at the bar for you. The beach club was nice but a bit over priced if you don't drink beer. Food was not good. Cute open air shuttle takes you to the beach club. I normally do not write negative reviews. It may be a result of minimal sleep due to the quality of the room. I know they had better located rooms available. I think we just got punished for saving some $.

Hello, in first place I would like to thank you for choose our hotel in Puerto Escondido. Even though it was a single night you could see positive things about our hotel. We so sorry the confusion with the online tariffs against the tariffs offered in the front. Like you said we have better rooms with sea view and remodeled that we would love that you see them. We have already notified to the other areas about your message and we are working on that. Thank you so much.
