Yes, the resort exchanges currency but the rate isn't that great. We found locals preferred pesos more than the US dollar, so we exchanged at home, but ran out and found it better to go to a local Mexican bank (take a taxi) to exchange more for best rate. I'd say as far as packing, plan cool, breathable and active clothing options. It was quite hot and humid and we wound up changing often after active activities, so extra clothes or maybe even detergent to wash may be a good idea. Bring an all white outfit for white night, something tropical, neon colored, Mexican colored, to go along with weekly themes. This is optional of course. If you have kids bring a backpack for them to keep sun block, a hat, bathingsuit, change of clothes, if they will be going to mini club. Also bring a plain white t- shirt for them to tie dye on Friday.
