Detailed Reviews
We have stayed here 3 times so far, company Christmas parties, so we've been fortunate to be treated to Chef Ben's amazing, extraordinary dinners as well as the delicious breakfasts the next morning. Each room is unique, we've stayed in 3 different ones, and each time we think we've found our new favourite. This place is a hidden gem, and we recommend it highly for both the wonderful accommodations and food as well as the professional and friendly hosts.
Recently we took advantage of his take-out meals and once again, the quality was outstanding.

The Iron Kettle B&B was the perfect setting to host my birthday party! Ben & Ginette are very hospitable and made it easy to organize a perfect birthday celebration. Everybody raved about the food and the atmosphere is comfortable and relaxing. The rooms are gorgeous, clean and everything you could need and ask for. The breakfast in the morning is amazing! Everything either home grown or locally sourced, making for the freshest breakfast you have ever tasted.

Our daughter Allex Matuszek was married to Kamil Matuszek at the Iron Kettle on January 4, 2020.
We stayed a few days in the rooms prior to the big day.
The gathering was small and intimate (25 people) , the theme: rustic, vintage "Winter Wonderland".
To call the venue 'perfect' is an understatement!
The overall vibe, history, décor and ambiance hit every proper note.
Plenty of room for everyone for the ceremony, dinner and yes, even a dance floor, which we proceeded to occupy all night!
Owner Benjamin is also the chef and prepared the incredible meal to perfection for their reception! Lamb chops and shrimp appetizers, Roasted chicken, braised short ribs, potato/corn chowder/homemade breads and home made mac and cheese especially for the bride...all made with locally sourced ingredients and ALL prepared in the next room.
We were told it was the BEST wedding our guests had ever attended!
Many of our guests also said they would return for a stay
just so they can enjoy more of the delectable breakfasts prepared by Chef Ben!
The rooms were perfect, comfy and homey!
If you're looking for a quaint overnight stay, a meeting, a shower, party...The Iron Kettle is the place.
Thank you to Benjamin and his wife Ginnette for an amazing experience!

The Iron Kettle B&B has redefined the bed and breakfast! This historic house is a beautiful getaway and Chef Ben never disappoints. I couldn't possibly do his cooking justice except to say that he is second to none in my books. My husband and I have enjoyed their hospitality on multiple occasions but this stay included 4 girlfriends and I celebrating a dear friends birthday. My friends were all as taken with this gem as I have been for the past 2 years. All the way home they talked about "the next time". So thrilled that this amazing destination is part of the Essex county landscape!

I honestly don't know what to say or think... Our wedding is June 30th 2018 and Ben emailed me to confirm our reservation June 6th 2017 with a confirmation #8090. With all the great reviews from family and friends we were over the moon and so excited.
Today we received an email, ((NOT EVEN A PHONE CALL)) to say their system had an error and double booked that weekend and we've been cancelled. Through out the last couple of months we've been emailing Ben, for advice, information and even started planning a rehearsal dinner. I asked for evidence that they booked before we did but he explained over the phone that they don't have that information but they did... I honestly don't know what to do about our wedding morning now, as the whole wedding party was supposed to stay there and get ready in the morning. He seems to think that a month before our wedding date and it being Canada Day weekend we''ll find something and it'll be fine! So, Thank you Ben for not caring and ruining my wedding morning dreams.
- A very stressed out and devastated bride.

This should not have been our first B&B because it will be hard to top the memorable experience at the Iron Kettle. Traveling with another couple who were also spending their first night at a bed and breakfast really had me feeling the pressure to find just the right place to stay on our way back from Niagara Falls. The Iron Kettle delivered. We felt comfortable and welcomed as soon as we walked in the front door. Sitting out in the yard to enjoy the last rays of sun on a beautiful Fall evening was the perfect prelude to an amazing dinner prepared by our host and chef, Ben. The rooms were impeccable in design and cleanliness. Our short 20 hour stay included a breakfast that left us feeling satisfied and truly impressed with Ben's talents. We would encourage anyone who is wary of staying at a Bed and Breakfast to try the Iron Kettle and put your fears to rest.

Charming Victorian home and great breakfast, each room has it's own special charm. Our family had the complete house for a family event and our host were so very accommodating to our every need. I would highly recommend this great B&B to those traveling in the Comber area.

If you want a truly memorable experience the Iron Kettle B&B is a must!
Ben & his team pay close attention to every detail.
We visited some local wineries prior to our visit / and then enjoyed a flavourful assortment of dishes for dinner. Chef Ben makes your palate come alive - with a focus on fresh, local ingredients.
You'll be telling everyone about your stay at the Iron Kettle B&B - as it isn't simply a Bed & Breakfast... It is an Experience!

Yes, the place is wonderful. And yes, the rooms are great and the beds ever so comfortable. And yes, the food was fantastic!! - but all of these things we had been told before we went to the Iron Kettle Inn.
What we didn't expect, was the warmth with which we were received and the care taken to ensure we felt right at home. Ben is a wonderful host, open and willing to share his knowledge of food, of the area wineries, of where to find the best farm to table products. For great food, great company and great conversation, The Iron Kettle Inn is a big hit. Thanks for everything. We will definitely be back!!

+1
A 5 star superior standard! A historic 5 bedroom house true to the period and restored impeccably! Rooms offer an interesting mix of modern and antique furnishings, luxury beds, top quality linens & towels (all ironed!), bathroom amenities. The grounds are impeccable offering private patio area, pool and hot tub, pond and more! Wineries are relatively close!
The distinguishing a factor...the food! The owners, Chef Ben Leblanc-Beaudoin and his wife Ginette Tremblay offer the best meals! Every breakfast offers fruits, fresh pastries, coffee, cappuccino, espresso, and some form of warm dish often with farm fresh eggs, local potatoes and veggies etc...
A MUST...the Chef’s Table Escape!!! Using local ingredients, Chef Ben creates the most exquisite 5 course meal! In our case we had: a strawberry/raspberry warm spinach & basil salad with balsamic reduction dressing; wild Ontario leek risotto with pickerel cheeks and Grana Padano cheese; Pan seared Lake Erie pickerel with sautéed spinach and mushrooms on a caper parsillade; Local lamb served with thyme rosemary flavored, bbq grilled sweet potato and fresh, local green beans; desert to die for... Local berries cobbler with espresso...all served with exquisitely paired wines from Crew, Oakley and Viewpoint Wineries.
The hosts are friendly, kind and a pleasure to chat with.... and to fully bilingual! Des vrais franco-ontariens!!!
An experience not to miss!
