I got to visit Iron Kettle B&B this past weekend with my boyfriend and we were absolutely blown away by the experience we had. From the cute china dishes, to the house, to the service and cannot forget about the AMAZING food. It was the best food i've had to date, nothing compares and i live in Toronto and eat out ALOT. We ate lab, braised beef, eggs benedict, french toast, ect...not your usual at a B&B. The hospitality was amazing, Ginette and Ben gave us a map and told us to top places and wineries to visit around their beautiful area and they did not disappoint. I wish i could come back every weekend or could just live their permanent
We spent the night at the Iron Kettle while on our Ontario wine tour. Excellent accommodations. The house is an old beautifully maintained residence. We arrived late and were not able to take in the beauty of the house until morning. We requested a later breakfast which was no problem. Of course, around 7:30 the aromas from the fresh bread baking wafted thru the house. The beds were comfortable. The rooms were very clean. Best yet, our host, Ben, was extremely knowledgeable about the region and gave us excellent recommendations. Throughly enjoyed our visit and recommend a stop if you are looking for a great place to stay.
The experience at the Iron Kettle was totally amazing! Ben & Ginette are wonderful inn keepers. It is a great central location for touring throughout the wine country of Windsor/Essex, close to Windsor & Amherstburg, Kingsville etc., yet set in the quiet, quaint village of Comber. Dinner and breakfast were not "meals", they were an amazing culinary adventure. There is nothing better than local food with everything homemade from the breads and preserves to the appetizers, main course and dessert. Excellent choice for a stay whether it be business or pleasure!
It was an amazing experience from the time we went in until service was over. He catered to the bride and grooms request and it was all amazing. The food is serviced with professionalism and love for the art of cuisine. Thanks Ben
This B & B offers good food, great atmosphere, and owners are very friendly and inviting. The meals that we have had here are amazing and absolutely delicious!! Would highly recommend this place for the food, and atmosphere, and rooms are impeccable.
I have been coming to the iron kettle for two years almost! It is an amazing place, comfortable, clean, welcoming, affordable and has all the amenities you could ask for!!! I would recommend it to anyone!
We stayed one night at this B&B and picked it because we were visiting family in Belle River...the location is great, right off the 401 expressway. I loved the historic house. Everything was super clean! We got a first floor room with a queen bed. The bed was ultra comfy, with nice soft sheets and duvet. Even the pillows were perfect loft and thickness! The host provided shampoo, conditioner, lotion and hair dryer as advertised. Our room looked out over a side garden and had lots of natural light. Our breakfast consisted of veggie omelets with cheese, freshly baked raspberry scones and an assortment of fruits, toast and a yogurt. Coffee was good, as was the orange juice. We left very satisfied! The property is lovely, with mature trees around the house. Parking was adequate…
This place is beautiful and Benjamin is a gracious host. The breakfast that he prepared was delicious. I highly recommend staying here. Sitting by the pool before going to dinner, a glass of wine in our hands, we could literally feel the stress leaving our bodies.
Our family of 4 (kids aged 11/13) rented 2 rooms as we had a family wedding nearby. The place was easy to find on our GPS. Getting there wasn't a problem at all. It is located at an intersection that is also easy to spot as well. Ben greeted us at the parking lot and brought us to our "quarter" which our 2 rooms shared a small common area and accessible via a private entrance on the side of the house. Room upstairs was huge with a sitting area and a decent size bathroom. Both rooms were comfortable. Our 2nd room was on the main floor and it had a ceiling fan as well. The bathroom was a good size but shower stall was a bit tight for my husband. Breakfast was fantastic with frittata, French toast, different kinds of fresh fruits, yoghurt, OJ, coffee, etc. The quality was…
Who would ever dream of finding such a wonderful, restored historic home in a little place called Comber. It is very convenient to the 401, Windsor, Leamington, Point Pelee etc.. The room was comfortable with updated furnishings without taking away from its historical charm. We enjoyed breakfast with others in a sunroom overlooking the pond and garden. The breakfast was absolutely delicious...baked frittata, fresh fruit, scones, french toast, homemade jams...sounds ordinary unless it is prepared by Inn Chef Ben...he is a genius and even competed on Chopped Canada. Bonus! It was wonderful he took the time to chat with us about his family, his home and surrounding points of interest.
