We stayed for one night and just as the other reviewers have said, we couldn't fault the service. Colin was very attentive and helpful from start to finish. The room was cosy. The bed was comfortable and the location was great as so close to the lake. Breakfast was cooked to perfection. This is an old cottage and probably could do with updating in places. The en suite door handle creaked so loudly I was worried the house might have woken up when I opened the door in the night. Note that the nearby pub isn't serving food so you need to travel 7 miles to find the nearest place to dine in the evening. I would happily stay here again in the future.

What a lovely place to stay. Colin is an excellent host, very friendly, welcoming, and also very informative. A cosy room with a comfortable bed. Spotlessly clean. The full English breakfast was cooked to perfection. The fresh berries and yoghurt to start was very nice too. Great off road private parking. Walks from the doorstep. 2mins to the lake, and the cruise boats. We will most definitely return. Highly recommended.

A warm and friendly welcome from the proprietor of landing cottage guest house, a quintessential guest house in the heart of Ulverston, in the lake district just a stone's throw from Lakeside Pier, Lakeside Station of the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway and the Aquarium. The landing cottage guest house is a home from home place to relax in comfort, in a lovely clean room and an amazing full English breakfast.

stayed 1 night in king room, ensuite with great shower/friendly welcome by Colin the owner when we arrived/Breakfast was very good with a great choice/comfortable lounge.All in all we were glad we stayed here and found the price for what we had very good value

We showed up for a single night's stay to attend a wedding in the Lakeside Hotel over the road. No problem in parking, greeted by Colin, a most agreeable and welcoming host. King room was clean and of a reasonable size with extremely comfortable beds. Breakfast the following morning was excellent. Speaking as to the less than complimentary reviews on here, what do people expect for the price, The Ritz? Good value for money and would stay again.
